Reykjavík Eco Campsite

Everything from booking to checking out was so easy and smooth. The common areas were clean and comfortable even in cold temperatures. In the kitchen there was really good recycling area and plenty of room to cook. Really enjoyed my stay here. I emailed the staff my cars licence plate (didn't know it when booking the stay), and they answered in an hour or so. Great place to stay!

Great campsite, close to Reykjavík. Great price for the location. Good bathroom facilities and shared kitchen. Lots of helpful signage. A Paved parking spot for our camper van was a welcome change after many muddy sites that week. Grass area available as well for tents, though we did spot a few small campervans parked there as well. BYO lock so you can use their complementary lockers with outlets inside! Find these in the common kitchen. We didn't have a lock, so we didn't feel comfortable leaving our electronics unlocked to charge unattended overnight. The smart campers who brought a lock were lucky indeed! We visited in September. We booked ahead (the only time in 10 nights we did this) and easily entered the campsite and all amenities with our assigned code. Paved lot was fairly full, though grass lot had lots of empty space.

We just finished a two week camping van tour of Iceland and frankly found the majority of sites overpriced, poorly resourced and minimal support from owners. The two exceptions to this were: - Berunes Campsite. The site was small and in a lovely backdrop. The owner was attentive. There was a kitchen and free showers and a nice place for meals and drinks. The second was Skaftafell campsite. Free showers and free laundry. The remaining lot that we stayed in were dreadful - some didn’t even have a shower. Some have two toilets for 30 + sites. The prices didn’t match these poor resources - they were $70+ Australian. We would not recommend camping in Iceland other than the two aforementioned. Of course this was our experience and others may well disagree.

The facilities are good and well organised. Enough showers and toilets. Shared kitchen to cook and chill inside. You need 5 digits code which renews every day and you can enter with it the toilets/showers, kitchen, Laundry room with washing machine and dryer if it’s needed(quite expensive to do your laundry there).

Expensive but well equipped. We liked our stay in a campervan here. Showers were included and the water was HOT! Everything was accessed with a code, including a kitchen and a space to sit and eat or socialise. Washing machines and dryers also available. We enjoyed it

Reykjavík Eco Campsite is well equipped, with multiple shower rooms, laundry facilities, and sheltered cooking areas. The staff keeps the place clean and organized. It’s easy to reach the city center on foot or by bus. Can get busy in peak season, but still well managed. A solid and comfortable stay.

Best campground. Located centrally in Reykjavik. Close to almost everywhere. Bathroom and kitchen are open 24/7. No time limit. Lots of stoves and lots of free leftover food from campers that are leaving, which was really helpful for small things like salt and oil. No need to buy. Wifi was working well and quite fast. Only drawback is the dryer in the laundry was not drying well, leaving clothes half wet. Overall, the best campground

Fantastic campground right in the city. It took me about 45 minutes to walk downtown. I loved the pool just down the road (so many hot tubs). The campground has fantastic facilities - kitchen, eating area, dish washing area, laundry and great washrooms with showers.
