As a young professional in DC, I was looking for a place that checked all the boxes: comfortable, luxurious, community-centered, near the Metro, and accessible. Reynard delivered on every single one.
I used to live closer to union market, and moving up here was a great decision. This neighborhood has all the convenience and transportation access you’d expect from living in the city, but with genuinely quiet moments. It’s the perfect balance.
What I love about living here:
The soundproofing is excellent. I can’t hear my neighbors unless I run into them in the hallway, and when I do, they’re almost always friendly and polite. It’s a respectful, peaceful community.
Maintenance is incredibly responsive. This summer when my AC unit went out, management (Chelsea and Bianca) sent a technician right away and provided a portable AC unit to keep us comfortable while they fixed it. That kind of thoughtfulness doesn’t go unnoticed.
As someone who works remotely, the amenities here are a dream. There’s plenty of space to work from, a calming and spotlessly clean yoga room, and a gym with a huge door that opens up to fresh air during the summer. It’s the little touches like that which make all the difference.
The community vibe here is something special. I spent my summer going to the Jazz in the Park events on the Great Lawn right behind the building. The location is unbeatable—walking distance to Whole Foods, Starbucks, and as a dog owner, I love having a vet and groomer nearby. In the winter, you see families sledding on the Great Lawn. It’s those little moments that make this place feel like home.
The staff regularly hosts events—everything from breast cancer awareness tea parties to comedy nights. They genuinely care about building community, and it shows.
A note about some negative reviews:
I’ve seen reviews mentioning noise from children or police being called. Here’s my take: children will be children and bad parents will be bad parents anywhere, and building management can’t control that. Personally, I see it as a benefit to live somewhere with multigenerational families—young adults, families with kids, and older residents. It creates a real community, not just an apartment complex.
Shoutout to Miles, Ayana, and the rest of the concierge staff. Gillian was the best leasing agent, so thoughtful and helpful.
I’m renewing my lease excitedly, and I genuinely recommend Reynard to anyone looking for a well-managed, community-focused place to call home in DC.
