RH HOTEL (4 Star)

Decent hotel in Sibu town. Near to shops, pasar malam, museum and souvenir centre. There is also a mosque opposite of it, convenient for muslims. The breakfast is standard with almost the same serving every morning, mid-range variety. Opens as early as 6am.

The reception staff is not so friendly. The toilet pump makes weird noises. the festival was very noisy. The swimming pool looks murky. Taps are stiff. Light switches have to be individually turned on. More like a 3 star hotel.

RH Hotel is one of the only two hotels you can choose from in the Sibu area. Unfortunately, there seems to be no proper industry standard for them to follow. We stayed for 8 nights, and the room was very dirty. Every day we could see how the cleaners worked—and it was shocking. There was a lot of hair on the carpet because the management doesn’t even bother to buy a vacuum cleaner. The staff only used a broom to sweep the carpet quickly and carelessly. To be fair, the cleaners are very nice people. The problem is with the management—they didn’t provide the staff with proper or professional cleaning equipment. We stayed on the 9th floor, and the window next to the lift was always open. Because of that, mosquitoes easily flew into the hotel, and we often saw them in the corridor. It was very frustrating. The room window was also in horrible condition—covered in thick green moss. You couldn’t even see through the window, everything outside looked green. Maybe the hotel did that on purpose because their company name is “Evergreen” and the logo is green too? The breakfast was bad as well. I suggest you skip it and just cross the road to eat at McDonald's—it’s much better. The only few good things: the air-conditioning was working well, and the hotel is in the center of town, so it’s easy to get transport.

The only positive thing about this hotel is the location which is in the heart of Sibu town. You can walk around the town to the interesting places around like the night market, the Wisma Sanyan mall, the pagoda/temple, the Sibu waterfront, Sibu Heritage Centre, Sibu Central Market and Dataran Sibu. The hotel itself is aged. The carpet flooring is dirty. We stayed on the 9th floor and the carpet along the corridor is horrible. They should change it immediately because it can cause health issues like the respiratory and breathing problems. The air conditioning produces some bad smell like it has never been serviced before. The maintenance of the hotel looks poor. The wifi of the hotel can't be connected. My kids can't watch the tv at all. Horrible. The price of the room doesn't reflect the quality of the hotel. Since the hotel is located in the heart of the town it is noisy with traffic especially the motorbikes and cars. During our stay there, there was a drift activity going on at night time just across the hotel which produces such a loud noise. The management should install some sound proof glass or medium to dampen or lower down the noise. I will not consider staying at this hotel in the future. We got the room with a nice view though that is towards the Dataran Sibu.

The room and bathroom feel outdated, though overall cleanliness is acceptable. The highlight is the excellent downtown location, surrounded by malls and many great local eateries.

So far so good, friendly staff, spacious room! wheelchair friendly because the hallway and the room are so big! for bathroom theres alot of necessities, like comb,shower head, shampoo, soap, and a lot and for the water pressure it also gooooodd. for breakfast, theres alot of food and drinks to he choose.

This was, without a doubt, the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. I booked for 2 nights but could only bear to stay for 1, that’s how bad it was. The room was disgustingly dirty, and the toilet? Absolutely revolting. When I voiced my complaint during check-out, not only did I receive zero apology, but one of the staff actually yelled at me. Three staff at the counter, and not even one had the decency to say sorry. This place doesn’t even deserve a single star. Truly a nightmare, avoid at all costs!

This is a good hotel to stay in sibu. When you check in, ask for rooms above level 5, with room facing the dataran (open space). I loves to stay at room 533, 1133. So, I hope I still able to stay in that room in future, as you read this review. The breakfast is quite standard. I was traveling during puasa month, so they made the food section smaller with fewer stalls . Maybe to reduce food waste. I did stay in this hotel before Ramadan, so manage to make some comparison for their breakfast. Parking space is limited, underground basement, free as long as you are the hotel guest.
