We stopped by early in the morning after a Beat tour, just planning to grab a quick coffee—but to our surprise, this place had so much more to offer. Not only was the coffee excellent, but they also had a great selection of pastries and a full breakfast menu. Everything we tried was delicious—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The vibe was relaxed and welcoming, making it the perfect spot to recharge. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area and want more than just a caffeine fix!

Google
Quite literally THE BEST donuts I've ever had and will likely ever have, so good in fact that I ate 6 in 2 days. Breakfast sandwiches were also fantastic, and the service was great. Interior is pretty cozy and clean. Top breakfast spot and highly recommend.

Google
Delicious!!!! Busy but warranted because the food was yummy. I got the breakfast wrap and partner got the turkey pesto sandwich. I definitely recommend you add this to your list of stops!!!!

Coffee special was amazing - donuts were overdone but absolutely worth trying! Would try again. So happy we finally made it and checked off one of my places that we must visit!

Google
Located in the heart of tofino is a beautiful and cosy coffee house. The coffees hit the mark and the food options are plentiful. There are options for vegans as well. BBQ chicken sandwich is my favourite. They have gluten free options.

Google
Love this lil cozy coffee house. Fresh (big) donuts, good coffee, nice Sammies. They’re famous for a breakfast sandwich served on a donut. They had one vegan and one gluten friendly donut option as well.

Google
The atmosphere was top notch. Lots of gifts and stickers etc to choose from. Coffee was great, mocha not too sweet. Love the tables. Would come back when in Tofino next time

Went for lunch on a Saturday in July. There was a lineup of about 6 people but it moved quickly. I can see why there was a lineup, because the food is delicious. I had the breakfast wrap without the bacon and it was excellent. I loved the beans in the wrap, it was a delicious twist. The homemade donuts are amazing. My son had a donut with bacon on it and he loved it. Everything was fresh and homemade. We might even go tomorrow before we head back home. The prices are good and the food is sooo yummy.

Yelp
A must for us every time we visit the Ucluelet and Tofino area. When we stay in Ucluelet, we drive to Tofino just for Rhino coffee & donuts. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Rhino Coffee House was the perfect place for us to escape the rain, conveniently located on the main strip. It was pretty busy on a Saturday afternoon, but we were able to snag a table right away. Most of the donuts were sold out by that time, so options were pretty limited. I ordered a Matcha and Boston Cream Donut, and my boyfriend got a coffee and Maple Bacon Donut. Service was quick, and the interior had a cozy ambiance. My Matcha was very good, and tasted almost identical to a Starbucks Matcha Latte. The Boston Cream Donut was tasty, but the dough was very thick. It comes down to preference, but I love a lighter/fluffier donut. My boyfriend loved the Maple Bacon Donut though! Overall, a nice place to visit while exploring Tofino.

Steph C.

Yelp
Cute coffee shop on the main strip of tofino. Really enjoyed my matcha latte. Also had a few of their donuts which were not too good just because the dough was really tight/dense. Tried the cookies and cream, maple bacon, cinnamon sugar, and cinnamon roll. Of them all, cinnamon sugar was the best. But overall would rate the donuts a 2/5. My matcha was a 5, ambiance also 5. Service was pretty quick but not necessarily the friendliest.

Yelp
Walking the shops in Tofino on a cold January day and needed something warm to drink and a small bite. Decided to check out Rhino Coffee. We ordered a mocha and a chai latte. Not much mocha flavor although the coffee was really good. I did like the chai latte. As a quick snack I also had a gluten free coconut topped donut. Very well done for a GF donut!

Jen H.

Yelp
Really cute and busy coffee shop! There were a lot of groups gathering here for a dine in / take out scenario. The donut was good but the cookie was even better (sorry no photo!). It's best enjoyed fresh there and then in my opinion! They have a bathroom in the back but I didn't use it so unsure of the upkeep of it. Staff are nice enough and everyone seemed genuinely happy with their orders.

Sara H.

Yelp
Pretty much the only option around for a quick grab & go breakfast plus a sandwich to take away. They have a good system going so even if there is a line, it moves quickly and your food will come out reasonably quickly as well. The food is also tasty & the coffee is strong! One thing I will say is that they apparently toast all their wraps as a standard. So if you are ordering a wrap that you plan to eat later, maybe ask them not to toast it. My veggie wrap was a soupy mess by lunch time.

Travis M.

Yelp
The food was amazing. The donuts and sandwiches are too good to pass up if you're in Tofino. The staff was super friendly. 5/5 stars I ordered online and it took about 10-15 minutes.

Annette Y.

Yelp
Came here on a whim for an afternoon pick me up. This place was quite busy! Service was speedy and we got our drinks pretty fast. Seemed others waited longer for their sandwiches. I tried the coconut cream and sour cream donuts. The coconut cream was very average, with enough filling but quite tough dough. The sour cream traditional yeast donut, however, was super dry! We also tried the lattes as well which I felt were pretty watered down with minimal foam. Overall was not worth the money spent (came out to over $19 after tips for 2 small lattes and 2 donuts!!) Photo depicts my coffee lid melting before finishing my drink :,)

Susan S.

Yelp
Great coffee place on main drive in Tofino. Friendly Service. Take Coffee to go or enjoy in house. They also got some food and sweets. Muffins are delicious.

Dani K.

Yelp
We've been in Canada for a week and had been looking for a great cafe. We found this on a cold and rainy morning, and it was perfect. We had a mix of breakfast wraps, sandwiches, and burritos and a red eye on our first visit, and came back after a whale watching tour for donuts and hot drinks. Come early for a good selection of donuts - we came at 3:45 and there were only a couple left. Kids are already asking if we can go back again for breakfast.

Chelsey H.

Yelp
Bronuts are Rhino Coffee House's gift to mankind. Okay, maybe these are a thing elsewhere but it was a breakfast sandwich in a donut. UGHHHHHHHHHHH Where can I find these outside of Tofino? It was so freaking good. Please get a bronut breakfast sandwich. My boyfriend got a fully loaded breakfast wrap that was really heavy and not flavourful but I'm not even gonna dock any stars. He said it just wasn't great but not bad, just kind of dry and bland so there's that hot tip for you! AVOID THE WRAPS (looks like some other people have written similar reviews). We loved our coffees and we also got a maple bacon donut which we got to eat while we wait for our breakfast items which was the best decision. It was the bomb.

April G.

Yelp
This place is adorable and has the best breakfast food in town! It's also open the earliest around here which is perfect for us on different time zones! My husband and I ate here all 3 mornings we spent in Tofino. We loved the ultimate wrap and lattes!

Sara W.

Yelp
Beautiful space with an expansive menu full of artisanal coffee drinks and sweet treats--it's hard to resist the doughnut display! I got myself a sour cream glazed doughnut and an iced chai latte. The doughnut was decent--it could've used more glaze and the chocolate drizzle muddled the tangy sour cream flavour profile, but it was still good overall. I liked the tea latte because it wasn't overly sweet. The paper straw it came with was a pleasant surprise! I had actually brought my own reusable straw because I wanted to reduce plastic use, but I didn't have to use it! If it's a nice day, you can enjoy your coffee (or other drink of choice) outdoors-- it's a great spot for people watching!

CharaGG K.

Yelp
Good breakfast. Known for the "bro" nut breakfast sandwich. Recommended coming checking it out

Kevin B.

Yelp
Good coffee/breakfast spot! One of the best things about the island are all the great coffee shops and this is one of them. Coffee was super fresh and tasted great! Snacked on some donuts to go with the coffee and they were awesome. The donuts are fresh, not greasy, and surprisingly light. To be honest, I've never had a cake style donut that was this light - really nice! The coffee was so good we ended up getting some beans to take home. PS - you can find some of the beans at some of the smaller grocery stores nearby too. Come early as the line up gets big and there isn't a lot of seating inside or out.

Lynn M.

Yelp
We went here as that is the coffee which was in our hotel an it was good. So went for our lattes and they were great. No disappointment there. However, we must say, we are not donut people but that white chocolate raspberry donut is the best donut we have had in our lives. We can not recommend it enough. Definitely worth a try!!

Hope R.

Yelp
The donuts were really good. Clearly home made recipe and incredibly fresh and delicious. Not too sugary. Coffee was normal the kombucha was very good- canned from Tofino.

Colin B.

Yelp
Great coffee plus vegan donuts ! You can't go wrong here. If there is a line it's worth the wait :)

Roberta T.

Yelp
I agree with some reviews here. I think this place is overrated and it is just busy because there is no much option around. The other coffee store/bakery close by is cash only. Long line ups for not much. Tried their wrap. It's good. Nothing amazing tho. My husband had a tuna wrap. He complained it had no taste. Coffee was ok too along with the service. Last, it's not a comfortable place. Noisy, crowded and you have to deal with the hassle to get a place to seat. This place is not for me, sorry.

Katherine M.

Yelp
Got veggie wrap that was delicious as well as some donuts to die for. Great service, cool decor and outside seating with heating lamps. They have fresh donuts for 3.45 but day old donuts under 2 dollars in a specific section. Also one of the only breakfast places open before 11 am in Tofino. Overall yum!!!

Lauren C.

Yelp
Upon first appearances, the breakfast menu seems odd. However fantastic bacon breakfast sandwich, hash brown and cinnamon donut were fantastic! More tables outside would be a perk for summer weather :)

Melissa E.

Yelp
We went here for a morning coffee and to try their fresh made donuts. Coffee was strong and delicious, not bitter. The donuts, I had the triple chocolate and sour cream. The dough is not light and fluffy but more dense but not overly so. Now this is not cake like...its better. The icing was divine and not overly sweet. Both hit the spot and were delicious. We ended up coming back at lunch for sandwiches and again did not dissapoint. Had the BBQ chicken sandwich which was on a hoagie style bun. The BBQ sauce was so good and chicken was not dry. It was a great tasting sammie! I will be back!

Kelsey B.

Yelp
Mmmm dooonuts and fresh brewed coffee. Is there anything better? I have to say Rhinos Coffee House in Tofino has some of the BEST donuts (or doughnuts if your fancy) I've ever tried! I stumbled across them on my latest visit to Tofino and had a chance to try and abundance of their products (I was a little hungry)! Day 1 - Coffee and donuts. Let me tell you, the Maple Bacon is an absolute must, and their vegan stuffie? Drool worthy for sure. You better get there early or you'll miss out on the donuts entirely! Day 2 - Breakfast Bagel. Drool Drool Drool... seriously, I've never had such a delicious breaky bagel, mmmm bacooon. What's even better? They have a BRONUT, that's right friends, it's a breakfast bagel on a donut! Ermergerd. Day 3 - Matcha Green Tea Latte and another donut and another breakfast bagel (I couldn't resist!!!). That latte was perfectly sweet and so yummy! Luckily I made it in time for donuts before they sold out! Day 4 - Stocked up on all the coffee options to take home and keep enjoying. They have an online portal for you to pre-order, as it WILL be busy, it's a hot spot! They also offer catering and international shipping. You can buy their gear online like hats and mugs. You can also purchase some of their coffee online, choosing from Espresso, Medium Roast and Dark Roast. I found some of their Surfer Coffee in store so stocked up on that one! Be sure to check them out if you are heading to Tofino or stock up on their coffee online!

Mads B.

Yelp
Yasssss! Go here. Do it. The donuts are great. We got a dozen of all different kinds for our road trip. All were soooo yummy. I also got a breakfast sandwich on a plain donut. It was gluttonous. It was wonderful. Really loved this place. Definitely recommend.

Kacey C.

Yelp
Great sandwiches and pastry selection! Went twice on our trip to Tofino. Tried the other hot spots and Rhino is definitely superior! A little tight of a space and that's why it's not a "5", can't blame them for that though.

Lorraine A.

Yelp
I have to admit this is the only coffee shop open at 8am in Tofino so 5 stars! With tourists and local surfers this place was packed to the brim. Love the coffee and so happy it was there!

Ola H.

Yelp
I believe this cafe is just overrated, i found a long line in front of it and a lot of good reviews but after having my Mocha from there, it is very regular, nothing special and for me below average honestly and even my blueberry muffin was not great either :S I think other places are better, spare yourself the line and try some other place

A P.

Yelp
The cashier (two days in a row now) is just so upbeat and friendly! Solid coffee. Breakfast sandwiches are good (some are curiously flavorless, sans hot sauce or ketchup), but the chorizo was more flavorful!) They seem to have a pretty regular flow of business.

Anne C.

Yelp
Ordered an iced latte and it was delicious! Exactly what I was looking for on a beautiful sunny day. Service was laid back and friendly. We also ordered the little mini donuts but they were just okay I would say - a tad bit on the dry side. Overall, I'd love to come back and try one of their breakfast sandwiches!

Caroline B.

Yelp
Got a Cappuchino and bacon/egg/cheese bagel. Coffee was good and came fast, however coffee lid was nearly melting from warmth of coffee and affected the taste. Bagel was amazing and came relatively quickly. Overall positive experience. Good for the area.

John B.

Yelp
One of the most popular places to grab some coffee and donuts in Tofino. The service was fast and friendly and the coffee and donuts were very good. I guess Rob G had a bad batch or is very picky with his donuts. I also grabbed some flyers and a newspaper with local info to read. As many have mentioned, the place fills up fast so be ready to grab a table or seat if crowded. The outdoor benches are a nice addition as well. Parking is mostly nearby on the street but I think there is an adjacent parking lot. We would stop by Rhino again, and I hope we return to the area sooner than later.

David T.

Yelp
The folks at Tofino Coffee roasters warned me not to go here, but I did not heed. Meh coffee. They have a nice machine but don't know how to use it. Bad customer service. Good donuts.

Jeffrey G.

Yelp
Was looking for a quick snack for breakfast and came upon this little gem. Had a delicious breakfast wrap and an apple fritter. Definitely recommend stopping in. Ask the server about a few hikes to check out too, very beautiful area.

Jess S.

Yelp
Need coffee? Come here. It was recommended by the locals and for good reason. They offer coffee and Fresh made donuts (including vegan and GF options). Service is very fast and they have a system that works effectively! Coffee is good! Prices are fair! Nice place!

Roxy R.

Yelp
Please rhino coffee your labels are not safe for people who have celiac disease For example I was there years ago and someone had asked of the doughnut there was labeled gluten free and it is however not the way you make them and prepare them you can't label something that is labeled gluten free It's cross contamination and should not be labeled gluten or please put a note under it not safe for celiacs it's misleading and could make people sick for people who have celiac disease.

Nique A.

Yelp
Staff super friendly The cinnamon buns are amazing ...all home made baked items. The coffee is great ...my sister loved her London got her mom had a matcha latte almond milk said it was much better than Starbucks. Pricrr than we are used to but it's a tourists town that is probably not busy in the winter months so I don't mind paying will be back for other donuts tomorrow

Cam M.

Yelp
Excellent coffee, very nice breakfast sandwiches, but the donuts are the best part. The Vegas jelly donut really blew my mind, I had low expectations for a vegan donut but of the 3-4 flavours we tried it was absolutely the best and I'd get it again any day.

Danny S.

Yelp
As this was the only coffee shop in the area, it seemed like this would be a good option to grab a quick drink and sandwich before starting my day. Clearly there is poor communication among staff, kitchen staff and management, as my order was either forgotten or messed up. Even more worrying, I wasn't the only one having this problem! No whiff of an apology or attempt to make it up. Worst of all, I didn't get a napkin! Safe to say I won't be coming here again for another $21 coffee and sandwich combo. So to summarize: ------------------ Expensive, Yes. Overrated, Yes. 45 minutes for a sandwich? Yes. Don't waste your time and money here. There's plenty of other places who will happily take your order, make it on time and probably have better service.

Kandi R.

Yelp
Ok so coffee wise...2-3 stars max. Very "Second Cup" if u know what i mean. But the donuts...and the breakfast sandwich...expensive as they may be...are off the charts!! The donuts are home made with tons of love! Not too sweet, just perfect fresh tasty donuts! U can also opt to save a bit of money n buy the day olds too but we bought fresh: wanted to try them in all their glory and we were not disappointed! The egg n bacon bagel was soooo friggen tasty too! Not enough cheese on it imo but that's usually my complaint for everything lol. The bagel itself...also homemade?? Was sooooo different but soooo much better than any bagel I've ever had (again I remind u I'm from Mtl...I KNOW a good bagel when i eats it). Service too, super friendly super sweet! Was fun to order in french on the otha side of the country! Not super speedy but things are sooo very good here, worth a coupla extra seconds! Definitely check this place out for the food ...and maybe just have a tea or a juice or sumthin instead of coffee. ;)

Joulene J.

Yelp
They should say the hours are closed at 3:30pm. Not 4. We came in at 3:30 and we're told only drip coffee. Too bad.

Joey V.

Yelp
Way too much waste for an order to stay. I understand it's a busy spot and dishes would probably be difficult but every order being made to go even though many people stayed was ridiculous. Especially in a town where eco tourism is so prevalent

Jamie J.

Yelp
Mm mm good! YOU MUST GO. Great drinks, great donuts (some vegan and gf options!), great time.

Torrie N.

Yelp
Full Disclosure - I didn't order the coffee here, so my review is solely for the food and service. We came here on a Saturday morning around 10:00 or so, while visiting Tofino. There seemed to be a fair number of locals as well as some tourists. You order at the counter and then pick up your food/drink from the counter. We opted for the breakfast bagel sandwich (with sausage) and the apple fritter. At first, I was skeptical about the bagel sandwich, since I thought it would just be a generic bagel with some filling. However, the cashier let us know that the bagels are made in house, which helped with our decision. It was hard to choose what donut to get but I had seen someone on yelp comment on how good the apple fritter was so we opted for that. The inside of the cafe is pretty small, with limited seating and there were a number of people drinking coffee and on their laptops, so this further impacted the number of seats available. There is a small patio area where you can sit outside but it was a little cold for us. We located a spot at the counter after waiting for a bit, and our bagel sandwich took some time to come out anyway (they let us know that everything is made to order - which is great!). The sandwich was awesome! The bagel had a great texture (not tough at all) and I liked that it wasn't super thick. I hate when you feel like you're eating a thick slice of bread/bagel with tiny filling - this was quite the opposite! The apple fritter was delicious as well and was the perfect treat to end our meal with. I had hoped to come back to Rhino again to try more of the donuts but we ran out of time. This is definitely a good place to pick up something for breakfast, etc. but I wouldn't recommend it as a place to go if you want to sit and relax/linger for awhile.

Jeanne C.

Yelp
We came here for breakfast before a surfing lesson and there was a line out the door. They're very popular and the service isn't quite fast enough to make up for that. We had 6 donuts, bronut with bacon, breakfast burrito, and dark roast coffee. The coffee could be a little stronger. The food was delicious! They have vegan donuts which usually make me a little skeptical but they were good. The jelly donuts were lacking jelly though and had about the same size as a little quarter in one corner of the donut. We came back for the Easter donut and it had more filling so I guess there's a large variation amongst the donuts.

Dawn B.

Yelp
I'm a fan of the doughnuts. My husband and I decided to try a couple of different ones. We had the old fashioned beer doughnut, apple fritter and triple chocolate doughnut. My husband also tried one of the cinnamon doughnut holes. The apple fritter was fabulous. Very moist in the center and lightly crunchy exterior and full of flavor. The triple chocolate doughnut was moist and rich, very rich. The old fashioned beer doughnut was a classic cake doughnut without any icing and was perfect for dunking in the coffee. We also had a mocha, which was okay. They offer free wifi which is nice if you're traveling and don't have a data plan. The tables inside fill up quick, get here early. I did notice a couple of tables outside too.

Suann G.

Yelp
There are a lot of coffee houses in this little town. Rhino is a nice little joint off the Main Street with indoor and outdoor seating and free wifi. They make their own donuts and roast their own beans. My soy late was ok. Could have been a little hotter. I had the mini donuts for a little snack. They were a little dry

Wilson L.

Yelp
The coffee and donuts here are unreal! It is a must stop spot if you are in town! Highly recommend checking it out.

S R.

Yelp
Two staples were in my wife's salad today. She chewed both, and luckily didn't swallow them. One was a piece of a staple, the other a completely closed staple. We went back, received a refund, but the situation itself is something that should be looked into by the operators of the business. There's no excuse for metal of any kind ti end up at the bottom of a salad. The doughnuts were good, but will not return.

Peter S.

Yelp
A reluctant 4. Nothing screams loser BA-Barista more than a rude obnoxious server hellbent on ruining everything the owner of the business slaved to achieve. That said the apple fritter was delicious and the rest of the staff were wonderful. This is a thumps up nonetheless
