Rhino Post Safari Lodge

My friend booked us in for 2 nights and this was the most incredible experience! The setting was so beautiful! We stayed at the outpost thst had no wifi and we loved it ! We could hear the lions roaring at night which was scary but magical. The whole set up was beautiful with the fire pit and view of the stars. The food was so great - thanks William! And the service incredible too - thanks Trinny ! ||||The bus walks and game drives were so great ! We even got charged by a lioness , but we were safe and well looked after by January and Darren! Thanks for such and incredible experience! The cleaning and maintenance staff were also so great too ensuring 5 star comfort! ||||We would definitely return!

My husband and I were so fortunate to visit Rhino Post Safari Lodge for our honeymoon and my husband's birthday, and it exceeded even our very high expectations. First and foremost, I would like to start with the staff: I cannot imagine a warmer, more welcoming, or more attentive group of people. Every single person we interacted with that worked with Rhino Post greatly enhanced our experience. The staff even made a cake and sang a beautiful song for my husband's birthday that brought us both to tears. The food was also incredible. We were lucky enough to get to meet three different guides: Sorta and James on our game drives, as well as Greg, who took us on private birding drives. All three were insanely knowledgeable, wonderfully passionate about and respectful of nature, funny, and impressive in their abilities to adapt to needs of different guests - I wish we could have had more time with all three of them! The location is beautiful, and the rooms are lovely as well - we did a decent amount of research into our options beforehand and decided we ideally wanted a good level of comfort and luxury without sacrificing all sense of authenticity / being in the bush (we weren't looking to just stay at a luxury spa lodge with a hint of safari theme), and Rhino Post perfectly delivered here. There was so much attention to detail throughout the rooms and the rest of the lodge that helped to ensure comfort and luxury, while still being able to feel like we were in nature. I also really appreciated how things like dinner were organized to encourage mingling amongst the guests (as a strong introvert, I wouldn't have initially selected for this, but because of this setup, we met some absolutely lovely people that I very much hope to stay in touch with). My only regrets are that I wish we'd had more time there, and I wish we'd prioritized also having some time at the Plains Camp so that we could explore a bit more by foot, but that will be top of the list for next time!

There is an enjoyable informal vibe at Rhino Post, it's not a lodge with pretensions. The staff seem to enjoy their work, and some of been there for over 20 years, which is always a good sign. |The prime asset is location in Kruger national park, really at the heart of the one of the best game viewing areas in South Africa, unfenced from the park itself and the private reserves to the west.|We were guided by Sorta, who was not just a fountain of knowledge, but very enjoyable company both on the drives and at the lodge. We did a variation of drives both on the concession and on the roads outside. The drives outside took place late in the day when we saw hardly any other vehicles, and we encountered a herd of hundreds of buffalo. |Meals were good, and breakfast cooked to order, which is always preferrable to a buffet. |Although October can be a hot month, I found the tent comfortable and did not need the fan. The room has everything needed, and outdoor shower is good. At night the only sounds are the natural ones of wild Africa, including occasionaly squabbles from the baboons who sleep in the trees above the tents.

Rhino Post Safari Lodge is a stay where you do not leave Kruger for the night. This makes for a very special experience and early morning safaris which are the best. First-things-First: Thanks to Leon our guide for all your insights and making this a very cherished experience and vacation. You make a difference. The whole team at Rhino Post is more than helpful, welcoming, and looking after you. We enjoyed our stay at your Post. Only one little thing to mention: due to the age of the Lodge the rooms have be have noticeably used before, some renovations are needed, if you expect luxury. But then, you do this for the location, location, location. Having the location in mind, I would rate the Lodge as country-style upscale in terms of the rooms. It blends right into the Kruger National Park. Food and drinks are great. You will not starve. If vegan/vegetarian, just let them know. We had three course dinner every evening and it was great every evening! Overall absolutely five star with big five experience. Thanks to the whole team of Rhino Post Safari Lodge!

We spent an amazing 3 nights here. The lodges were clean, comfortable and spacious. The setting was beautiful over looking the riverbed. The communal areas were comfortable and attractive. The food was outstanding and I was very well catered for as a vegetarian. All staff were friendly and helpful, without exception. ||The game drives were outstanding, leaving us with memories of a life time. We were lucky enough to see the big 5 while we were there, but there is so much more to see than that. Many other fascinating animals and beautiful birds. Every drive and sighting was unique. We were lucky enough to see a cheetah and her two cubs. Another highlight was seeing a hyena running towards us carrying zebra’s leg. I would like to sincerely thank Fabian for being an outstanding guide. Your knowledge, skill and passion really made our trip. Thank you to everyone at Rhino Post - I high recommend staying here.

What an experience! Wow! Especially our Guide James but also so many other amazing Crew members!!! The Food was extraordinary and we had such a good time. Would definitely Book again!

We were lucky to speed one night in that haven … such a shame we couldn’t stay longer. The staff was so dedicated, the service flawless, the room so comfortable and spotless, the location stunning. The 2 game drives were very good. ||Thank you so much, we hope we will come back !

Sleeping while listening to the animals at night was incomparable. The food was indescribably good. Conversations and drinks with friends and like-minded people by the fire on the veranda, just cool. And above all, the game drives with Sorta. She lives and breathes this profession, she could answer all our questions, took care of us, it was an unforgettable experience to go on a trip with her.
