As we drove ourselves to the lodge we were surprised to see so much wildlife from our own car including giraffes, elephants and many species of antelope. Access road to the lodge desperately needed maintenance. |The lodges have stunning views from the ridge looking down on to small watering holes. Two excellent game drives per day (early morning and late afternoon) were included in the package. Our safari guide, Thobin was very hard working and dedicated, we were fortunate to see many species including rhinos, elephants, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, antelopes, baboons, a pack of wild dogs, many species of birds, lizards and chameleon . The guides even served a hot drink and snack in the morning and alcoholic drink with snack late afternoon whilst watching birdlife. |Breakfasts after an early morning game drive were enjoyed on the terrace, weather permitting. The communal areas are very pleasant with log fire lit most evenings. Evening dinners particularly the main courses were disappointing. In the evenings you are asked to wait until a member of staff is available to escort you back from the main communal lodge to your own lodge in case wildlife is too close. |We were told that the cultural visit to the village near the lodge was not available.
