My husband and I have just spent three nights here, enjoying our stay very much indeed.|The lodge has a stunning position right on a ridge, and the views are amazing. Seeing giraffe away below us eating their lunch whilst we had ours was a truly lovely experience! |The lodge is very modern and the rooms are excellent. We stayed in one of the safari rooms, and they are really very nice indeed. The bed is large, the bathroom well equipped (and you can open the door next to the shower if you want that outdoor shower feel), the veranda a good enough size for two to sit comfortably. Tea and coffee are replenished daily, as is drinking water.|The communal areas are very pleasant indeed, with most of our meals being taken outdoors on the covered terrace area. The breakfasts were wonderful after an early morning game drive! Lunches were equally good, but I have to admit that we didn’t enjoy the dinners as much, particularly the main courses.|Two game drives per day (early morning and late afternoon) were included in the package, and these were very good overall; over the course of our five drives we saw 4 of the big 5 as well as African wild dogs, a hyena and of course many of the more common animals. But sightings are definitely not guaranteed (for example, we saw nothing particularly significant on our final drive). |We also opted for the late morning cultural visit to the village near the lodge, to which it has very strong links. This was very interesting and we didn’t feel like we were peering at people’s lives like being in a show, which I had feared. Women can always find common problems across their lives, anyway!|If you want a really personal touch, you may find that this lodge, being slightly larger (22 rooms and not family-owned) doesn’t provide that; it did feel a bit more like a hotel ambience-wise than other lodges we have stayed in on our trip. |But I would still recommend it!

Outstanding lodge that is very high end. Staff go out of their way to make sure you have a pleasant stay. My son was ill and they went to deliver his dinner in person! Enjoyed a facial and a tub soak in the villa. The walking tour was outstanding. The safari drives were fancy and evening included wine and cocktails. Saw the big 5 and lots of close encounters with hyenas, elephants and rhinos. The food was so delicious and they accommodated multiple food preferences in our tour group.

The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and beautifully designed – a perfect retreat after a day of adventure. The game drives were absolutely amazing, offering breathtaking sightings and unforgettable moments in nature. A special mention goes to our guide, who was truly world-class – knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate, making every drive an exciting and memorable experience. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and will cherish these memories for a long time!

The setting of the lodge is wonderful. It is comfortable and stylish. The pool area was very relaxing. The food was very good! The room was clean, beds and pillows very comfortable. The safari drives were great. We saw every animal the first day out. So many animals. The guide was terrific. Suggestions to up the level: It would be nice to have a electric blanket options in the rooms as we were there in the damp season, also hot water bottles in the jeeps for morning drives would be a bonus.

Rhino Ridge is a five star, first class lodge in the Hluhluwe/Imfolozi wildlife reserve. It is superior in every way. The rooms are large, comfortable and completely private. The service is above and beyond expectations - the staff is on the ball all the time, every day. They are always in the immediate background and all it takes is eye contact for a member to come to you immediately. EVERYTHING works in this ten year old property. If something is broken it's fixed within a day. The food is world class, fresh ingredients cooked perfectly every time. The chefs will accommodate your every little wish and desire. |I had two massage sessions, hot stone treatment in the spa, overlooking the reserve. The therapist, Queen, had trained for two years in professional massage. You can see giraffes and antelopes nibbling and ambling just below. It was mind bending.|Sifiso was my guide for 12 safaris over seven days. I spent a whole morning with a herd of magnificent elephants. Other sightings included rhino, giraffe, wild dogs, lion, hyena, warthog, mongoose, buffalo and birds. The birds! Vulture, storks, bee eater, crested eagle - all within yards of the vehicle. Unlike other parks, there were no gangs of trucks pressing on the animals. Fantastic photo opportunities!|Sifiso served filter coffee and snacks at the bush breaks. The lodge packed a picnic that included lamb chops, lamb sausage and chicken kebabs, grilled on the spot! Three different salads, corn on the cob and dessert. |I could not have found a better base for safari and lodging in South Africa. Rhino Ridge is the bomb! And, the rates cannot be beat. ||Thank you to the management and outstanding staff of Rhino Ridge for an unforgettable experience.

From the moment you enter the lodge, you are treated as if you were the only guest there. Craig and his staff go above and beyond their duties to ensure that all your needs are met. The food is a culinary masterclass ( 3 times per day ! ) of tastes and variety while the service is what you would expect to find in a fine dining restaurant.||The game drives are outstanding ( despite the low levels of cats seen ) with our ranger, Thulani, ensuring that you are given every opportunity to see almost all of the big 5, birding and large amounts of rhino of course. We were even lucky enough to see wild dog , a gathering of 40 vultures as well as the Marshal eagle. The morning sunrise is breathtaking and enjoying an amarula hot chocolate with home made shortbread is what is needed on a winters morning, not to be missed.||As the lodge is perched on the top of the mountain, you get great views while having your breakfast and lunch or just relaxing by the pool. There is a watering hole in front of the lodge where we witnessed about 20 elephant come to drink with their young, Nyala walk around the lodge and between the rooms during the day and you often see buffalo and giraffe roaming the plains below.||The suites are large with built-in fires and rain showers with amazing views over the reserve. As it was our anniversary, we asked for special items to be done, and the lodge even did extras of their own accord, just showing that the little things matter and are the difference between outstanding and exceptional. The Spa on site has amazing views from large windows where the treatments are done and are professionally done with amazing staff.||They even ask when booking in if you would like your car washed for when you leave as there is a section of dirt road that needs to be travelled on.||Overall a fantastic place to stay in the Umfolozi/ Hluhluwe game reserve ans we can't wait to go back.

This is the second time we have visited Rhino Ridge and once again it was phenomenal! From the setting to the staff to the food everything was exceptional. I will be back in two years time and I can’t wait to visit again. Our guide was Tobeka and she went above and beyond to give us an incredible experience. We also loved the game walk we did with NuNu. All the staff are exceptionally well trained and very professional.

Rhino Ridge is a stunning lodge set high up so you have the most amazing views, we were lucky enough to see plenty of Rhino, giraffe, zebra, wild dogs, baboons, only 2 elephant though which was disappointing, but the bush was very thick so it made it difficult to find them. the staff and rangers are excellent, and the food is amazing too. we really enjoyed our stay there.
