This bar posts signage for patrons to keep conversations low and pretends to take itself seriously as a jazz kissa**, but no one seems to actually abide or respect this here. Conversations amongst tables are very loud, and it's nearly impossible to hear the music despite the sound setup and quality.
There was only 1 person on staff (the bartender) and I don't know if they're at fault for "not keeping the peace" or if this establishment just is not actually serious about their posted signage and policies stated on their website. Either way, if you're looking for somewhere quiet to enjoy jazz music, DON'T come here. If the bar is full, there is also hardly any standing room for you to wait indoors, so don't come if it's cold out either, in case you don't get seated.
Drinks were good, with an expensive selection of Japanese whiskey, and some cocktails inspired by jazz albums, but I wouldn't come back simply because the atmosphere was SO loud.
**Edited review to reflect the establishment's claims of not being a jazz kissa, but just a jazz bar. Their posted signage inside the bar as well as on their website still states, "For a better musical experience and out of respect for all guests, please keep your conversations as quiet as possible", but as you can tell from the audio in the video, no one actually cares. 🔊🤦
