An exceptional lodge in a unique location. Tucked away in the natural landscape. The cabin is beautiful rustic charm with modern comforts. Hot water bottles brought to your room for warmth at night. Spacious deck with beautiful views. One of the most comfortable beds I've been in. High quality linens, locally inspire decor. The lodge has its own garden and the dishes are outstanding, fresh and flavourful, including the lunches sent with us on our safari days. The staff are warm, professional and one step ahead. This lodge supports an orphanage a short walk away. The manager will take you over to meet the children. It's obvious that he cultivates a relationship with them, they were guiniely happy to see him. This lodge is an experience. Do yourself a favor and add an extra day or two just to relax at this outstanding lodge.

An unforgettable stay in an idyllic setting! I was welcomed with great warmth as soon as I arrived, which set the tone for all our stay. The view from the lodge is simply incredible, breathtaking! Each meal was a real delight, tasty and perfectly presented. As for the room, it was impeccable: comfortable, tastefully decorated and impeccable clean. A parenthesis of serenity and beauty that I recommend with closed eyes !

While the tents were quite well kept with modern amenities, the team managing the lodge won our hearts. Juma at the restaurant was so warm in his approach and diligent with everything, ensuring we were well looked after, including packed breakfast and lunch for our 6am departure for the crater. He was also playful with the kids, and they just loved the lodge experience. The food was delicious, everything was well organised and the entire team, including the other staff helping around, the security staff who walked us to the tent were spot on with their responsibilities, and they did it all with a smile. Full credit to Asha, the Lodge manager, for keeping the team in such good spirit and efficient. Her friendly demeanour, professionalism, and helpful nature made us feel at home. ||We had a lovely experience and would passionately recommend it to anyone, including families. ||Ps: Winters can be very cold, recommend sufficient warm bedtime clothes too

A friend booked our 3-night stay at Rhotia Lodge. We had been really busy and hadn't looked at the details of where we were staying so it was a complete delight, far beyond our expectations when we found ourselves in the most fabulous location with breath taking views. We were met with a very warm welcome and shown to our wooden lodge (C1). Absolutely stunning, beautifully laid out, immaculate, again with the views, complete with veranda and outside bathtub. ||All of the staff were excellent; charming, attentive and really good at their jobs. ||The food was delicious and the lunch boxes for safari were great. We enjoyed coming back at the end of the day and having a drink on the terrace, enjoying the tranquillity before supper. ||When we discovered the story of Rhotia Valley Tented Lodge & Children’s Home we were lost for words. How wonderful that not only can you stay in a beautiful lodge, but it is actually seriously changing the lives of so many children and young people. Please do check out Rhotia Valley’s website for the details. ||Rhoita Lodge is perfectly located; we visited Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Crater & Lake Manyara during our stay. ||We cannot recommend Mieke and her team at Rhotia Valley Lodge highly enough. Truly is a magical place and a wonderful atmosphere.

Stayed one night at at this lodge and glad we did. There's a very steep, uneven track that's a challenge for a 4x4 to negotiate to get to the lodge. Takes about 20-25 minutes and you know you've done the journey!!! However, once there the views are excellent, right up in the hills. |All staff are very attentive, friendly and provide and excellent service. The food was superb, in a lovely atmosphere. Great restaurant veranda for pre-meal or post meal drinks, which over look unspoilt mountainous countryside. |This lodge is at a high altitude, so the evening cools very quickly - take a sweatshirt!|We stayed here in a family group of 7, and had lodges C1 and C2. These are new! Definitely recommend these two if you are able to request them. Great views from veranda, and an outside bath! They are also family rooms with 2 extra single beds. There is a 'turn down' service where a hot water bottle is placed into your bed for your return to the lodge - nice touch and very welcome.|Drinks were reasonably priced for the location, but you will have to make a pre-dinner selection on what you want to eat from the menu. There was a choice of 2-3 dishes per course.|Highly recommended, but be aware for the tortuous journey to get there.

Lovely little camp. The grounds and the views are stunning. There's a small pool but we didn't have time to use it and weather was not great.|Tents are very clean with big comfy beds. Due to time of year and being so high it was a little cold at night but they bought us hot water bottles and we slept well, soon warmed up.|As with most camps the hot water and lighting run off solar so be quick in the showers so you don't use all the hot water.|The dining area is beautiful and the food was great. Limited options as with all of the small camps but was fresh and tasty and something for everyone (unless you are very fussy haha)|Service was spot on. Everyone on site happy to help, smiling and attentive.|Would definitely recommend.

A very unique place where it starts with a warm welcome of fresh fruit juices, a smiling team and a breathtaking view of the valley. The standard tented rooms are very sweet and have everything you need. Yes, they are simple, but they are also tents by definition, and the shower is tricky to handle between volcano hot water and iceberg cold, but one should actually appreciate being able to take a shower in the middle of a quasi-jungle. The team even put heating bottles at night so to keep it cosy. Due too late arrival and very early departure, we couldn’t visit the orphanage school of Joris & Marise but we will so the next time we visit.

From the reception, we immediately felt at home. We received a very warm welcome. Asha, explained everything to expect with clarity. All staff were very pleasant and welcoming. The service is top notch. The food is fresh and delicious. It is amazing that this places also cares for orphans. Next time we are here we will make sure to go and visit. |You don’t need to hesitate booking this place, it is an awesome place for peace, serenity and relaxation.|The place is also right near the Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara and Tarangire National Park. |We will definitely be back again!😀
