Rhumb Lines Cuisine in Indigo Grill

What a delightful meal at Rhumb Lines! The food was very good. We enjoyed the cracked pepper crusted tuna, mango gazpacho, pistachio crusted goat cheese , both the shrimp and tofu Pad tai (both excellent) and the fresh fish. The inviting decor and the special attention from Star and Archie made this dinner of our favorites on the island!

This was our first meal on the island and was also our last meal! Everything was so delicious. Highly recommend!! We got the chicken pad thai, pot stickers, blackened mahi, and their steak. Amazing atmosphere, with two cute cats running around. The mosquitoes were tearing us up and they had bug spray there!

The absolute best restaurant on the island. Laid back atmosphere, service was phenomenal, the food and drinks were all excellent. We had the chicken pot stickers and 2 bacon wrapped shrimp as appetizers. We had the New York Strip special for dinner with shrimp to make it a surf and turf, with mashed potatoes and mixed greens. The steak was cooked absolutely perfect, medium rare and medium. We had the peanut butter cup cheesecake for dessert. The sauces that came with everything matched well with the food and were all delicious. I highly recommend this place and the love that the locals told us to be sure to make a reservation. Being from the midwest, I know steak and would put this above most high end restaurants back home for sure and at a fraction of the cost.

Awesome food in a very cozy environment. Eating here feels like going to your rich, well-traveled friends house. I recommend picking a few of the small portion apps on the back of the menu to get the most variety. My wife and I had the Pad Thai and the Mojo Pork, and both were excellent. FYI there are two cute cats hanging out, which is definitely a plus.

I have a hard time writing this review because I am so exhausted from waiting two hours for cold food (I actually timed it) but here goes. I understand that tonight a chef didn’t show up and someone had to cover for them, but next time just tell us what the situation is so we can make the decision to dine elsewhere. Me and my family have been coming here every year for at least the last decade and for that we were rewarded with one of the Most condescending experience I’ve ever had in my life. The owner, Hilary, instead of apologizing for the delay and for three of our dishes being cold, came to the table and said “what’s the problem” and then explained to my mom that her fried fish tacos are “mostly cold ingredients” (what does that even mean?). My grilled shrimp was cold, my sisters steak was cold and overcooked, my dad’s plantains were cold, and the owner of this establishment could not even feign an apology. Not even a simple sorry. The way she spoke to my mom had everyone at the table confused and upset and we had to leave right away. We are cancelling our future reservations here and will never be returning. Thank you Kent for trying to salvage the night for us.

Really unique atmosphere. There was an awesome cat wandering around. I got pad thai with tofu. It was good, but the spice level was high, so it was hard to finish. My husband got steak that was overcooked even though he requested medium rare. They offered to remake, but he ate it anyway. Staff was friendly and attentive.

Our New Year's Eve dinner, and it was so wonderful! Fun, eclectic vibe, Asian influence meets boho/hippie, we loved the colors and textures and lights. The shrimp pad thai was AMAZING! Friendly kitties made us smile, as we were missing our own cat. We loved it so much, we reserved it for our last dinner on St John, but there was an illness, and they closed that night. Can't wait to go back next time!

We stopped in on a whim, but were welcomed. It was off-season so there was plenty of room, but I recommend a reservation during peak season. I can't imagine this place isn't packed with how good the food is. All we had was an appetizer but it made an impression-- definitely recommend making the trip to eat here. The menu, ingredients, flavors and creativity were above and beyond.
