Riad 11 Zitoune, Marrakech Medina - Explore & Book

"When the hubbub of Marrakech’s blushed-walled medina and the full-throttle action at nearby Jemaa el Fna Square get a bit much, this former spice trader’s home becomes much more than just a place to lay your head. We felt the madness of the medina melt away the moment we stepped through the door. Opened in 2014 as a passion project for German and Arabic owners Alexandra and Ahmed, Riad 11 Zitoune is easily one of the prettier hideaways on the city’s hip riad scene, not least for the curated interiors that combine classic Moroccan design with contemporary flourishes to a highly refined effect. The pair have gone big on recasting Riad 11 and the newer Riad 10 (50 metres from the main hotel) as a soothing space where things feel homespun and relaxing. As we stepped into the main building, we were greeted by a scene-stealing tiled courtyard with green and duck-egg blue hues. The 11 luxe-leaning rooms and suites spread across the two neighbouring riads are spoiling - all with pillowy double beds and bathrooms decorated with traditional tadelakt plaster. There are private yoga classes, a rooftop restaurant, and terraces with sunloungers and lofty views. Add to this thoughtful staff who'll happily assist with your every need and prices that won't eat into your spending money, you've got the perfect recipe for a boutique stay in the heart of the medina. Highs A desirable Marrakech address in the centre of the medina, just a three-minute walk from Jemaa el Fna Square Relaxed and sociable atmosphere created by owners Alexandra and Ahmed and their lovely staff Just 11 individually styled rooms with delightful décor that mixes up classic Moroccan craftsmanship with modern design flourishes A rooftop restaurant serving masterful Moroccan cuisine Great value with all the trimmings: private yoga sessions, peaceful roof terraces, a plunge pool and a Jacuzzi Lows Riad 11's courtyard and rooftop terrace are quite small, but Riad 10's is slightly larger; all guests can use the facilities at both Access to all but one room in the main building is via a steep staircase, so not suited to those with mobility issues No TV in the rooms may niggle teenagers, but there is WiFi They're old buildings and we experienced the occasional issue with water and power in the main hotel, but it didn't affect our stay We've not seen Riad 10 for ourselves yet, but it looks like a brilliant addition" - Ben Parkinson

This place is an oasis of calm in the centre of the Medina. The Green Tea suite with its tiny balcony was perfect, as was the traditional deco throughout the riad. The courtyard was a cool haven to take tea and breakfast on the roof was a fabulous start to the day. Every member of staff were friendly and polite. We feel very lucky to have found and stayed at Riad 11 Zitoune.

Amed has created a cozy oasis that immediately made us feel at home. He and his team have warmly welcomed us in the riad and have made our stay wonderful! We loved the attention to detail in the rooms, the serene courtyard, and the beautiful rooftop. The whole facility was impeccably clean and exceptionally well kept. The breakfast was delicious and they even fulfilled our special requests. Amed provided us with great tips for restaurants and places to visit. We also did a cooking class that included shopping at the market and preparing a Moroccan couscous. We had so much fun and can only recommend it! In short: We can full-heartedly recommend Riad 11 Zitoune!

We had a lovely short stay here in Feb 2025. Booking direct unlocked a transfer from Marrakech airport which was great...if you're not familiar with the medina this place might be a little tricky to find especially when you first arrive. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful at all times. Breakfast on the roof terrace was plentiful and delicious. The room (ours was the Lavender room) was decorated nicely and perfect for our stay. The nature of the riad inevitably means small, narrow and reasonably steep stairs so be aware of that. Location is excellent really - you are a short walk to the Djemma El Fna so all the delights of the medina are at hand.

This riad is wonderful and I would highly recommend staying here. Location, service and room was everything we were hoping for. I came with my son and had 3 incredible days, with help from very friendly staff. Look forward to staying here next time.

We had a wonderful stay at the new annexe of Riad11 - the Riad10 Mandarin. We were one of the first guests as this new riad from the same owners just opened on first of October. Everything was great, from the decoration of the room, the children beds that were designed as small little caves, the overall style of the riad. Breakfast was served at the table and was freshly made once you took your seat. We also had dinner once which was very good (tajine). The location is close to perfect - 4min walk from the main square and in the same street than one of the top rated roof top bars in Marrakech.|Although you’re in the heart of the medina, the Riad Mandarin is an island of peace and quietness. The staff was super friendly to the children. Transfer from the airport is included and even waited until 1 am as our flight was late.|We took a tour with a guide organized by the riad which was very good. They also organized our transfer to the next city which we wanted to visit which was great.

We had an amazing time at Riad 11. It's in a great location, only a couple of minutes from the main square, and also a really peaceful, quiet place to stay. The staff were always super friendly and helpful. Also, we had dinner there one night and the food was really tasty.

We had a great stay at this Riad for 4 nights. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Bedrooms spotlessly clean and bed very comfortable. Breakfast on roof terrace fab and location perfect. I would highly recommend to friends and family.
