I stayed in the Carbon room, from the first night the entire room smelled like sewage, the next morning I reported it to Ahmed the manager and he immediately called the attention of the cleaner, however the bad smell persisted throughout our stay since it was not a cosmetic problem that could be solved by pouring air freshener down the drain, it was a structural problem, they did not even offer me a room change or anything. On our last night at the Riad we arrived to our room late around 9:30 pm and the first thing I noticed was that the lock on my suitcase had been broken into, I immediately opened it and saw all my clothes in disarray and unfortunately there were missing 650 USD. I immediately went down to report what had happened to Abdul and immediately all the nice faces and cordiality disappeared, I asked him to inform Ahmed and I also wrote to him directly but he never answered me nor did he want to show his face. I had to leave the riad very early the next day because I had a scheduled transfer to Essaouira, and I left with the promise of a solution, which never came. They never wanted to take responsibility for the incident and assured me that my daughter had taken them to buy an iPhone. Ridiculous!!
After my stay in Essaouira, I decided to go to the police to file a report so that these things wouldn't happen again.
It's also worth mentioning that the riad is located in a less than safe area. One day, we made a mistake and turned onto a street and ran into some drug dealers. They looked at us and told us we had no business there and to turn back. Another night, we also ran into a group of young men who tried to rob us. First, they tell you that the street you want to take is closed and that you'd better go where they tell you to. If you fall into their trap, you're in their hands.
The Carbon room is so noisy that is very difficult to sleep!
