Riad is well sited in a quiet side-street in the Medina, a short walk from the main square. Eight rooms round an open patio space with fireplace. Pleasant rood terrace with (unheated) plunge pool and an enclosed dining area with its own wood-burner. The dinner we had was very good. But the riad has problems ....||- peace and quiet are disturbed by the raucous muezzin from a mosque about 30 metres away (not the riad's fault), and by guests talking in the patio area after the 10.00 pm curfew (which riad staff should enforce)|- the local manger and staff are difficult to communicate with and not responsive or responsible. Arriving on Christmas Eve we were met by night watchman and no-one of authority was on duty until 26th|- we were unable to resolve problems caused by a hard bed (there seem to be no spare duvets to pad it with)|- poor advice was given by the manager that led us to boom on a disappointing walking trip to the Atlas|- fires were not lit consistently so the central area was frequently cold|- the fire (very necessary in winter from mid-afternoon) was not lit consistently and was not kept burning warmly. There is clearly a fault with the chimney that makes smoke belch into the sitting area and patio, rising to the bedrooms and creatiung a smaoky atmosphere|- unscrupulous invoicing and payment practices. Payment by credit card incurs a 3.5% surcharge. If paying in local currency watch for the exchange rate scam They invoiced me in Euros and converted at 11 dirhams, when that day's rate in the bureau de change was 10.2. We haggled and agreed on 10.52 mid-market rate||These problems all derive from poor local management and lack of attention from absentee Spanish owners||Our room (Campanile) was very small indeed but with a nice bathoom. Overpriced at 215 €, even allowing for Christmas profiteering

We had an amazing stay at Riad Abracadra, it felt or better said, they make you feel like home. Since the moment you book, you realize your stay with them is going to be a great experience. Their recommendations are like nothing I have seen before and worth the stay. Rooms are clean, comfortable, stylish and have everything you might need (amenities, AC, safe, slippers, bathrobe, water....and many more details). The rooftop with the plunge pool, bar, sunbeds and views of the snowed Atlas Mountain Range are breathtaking and great place to take a break after walking around or after dinner. |The best Morrrocan food we tried was not at any of the really nice restaurants they recommend but their home made served at their roof top by great staff and with white gloves. Come on, who does that nowadays? Breakfast is very good too.|I recommend you book with them the shuttle service to and from the airport. |Thank you Inés, Hashim, Bruno and all the Abracadabra Team!||

Excellent riad within the medina helped create an authenticity to our Marrakech holiday that could not have been replicated by a large hotel. The rooftop pool is a life saver on hot days. The staff were great.

We really love the Moroccan style and the riads are just perfect for the city. One of our favorites is Riad Abracadabra. The riad is located only few minutes walking from the burning Jemaa el Fna square. And still it is very relaxing area. We really love the style of the riad, it’s a mix of Moroccan style with classic, and we just love that combination. It has only 8 rooms, which makes your stay really personal. The staff is very dedicated and nothing is too crazy to ask. We really felt welcome at this place.||||The riad has a central patio, which serves as a distributor with a central fountain that radiates peace to the rest of the riad with a sound of water. Perfect place te relax and read a book after a busy day at the Marrakech souks. That was however not our favorite part of the riad.. The roof terrace was just incredible. Overlooking the rooftops of Marrakech and at the same time the snowy peaks of the Atlas mountains. To make it even better, there is a swimming pool on the terrace and lots of sunbeds and hammocks to enjoy the Moroccan weather to the fullest. We had our breakfast every day on the terrace and we have really enjoyed it. We really LOVE breakfast with a great view. The terrace was absolutely our favorite spot at Riad Abracadabra. Also great for sunset, with a cocktail in your hand or a Moroccan mint tea of course. Wish for that right now actually..

Truly amazing hotel in the heart of Marrakesh. |Lovely dinner and breakfast. It also has a little pool, which was great! It is great to escape the crowds and business from Marrakesh - once you enter the street you feel the calmness of the road. Would recommend to everyone!

We booked this Riad for a 40th birthday surprise which was barely acknowledged by the management staff who knew. ||The room was spacious though air conditioning was extremely poor. We were ont he ground floor which was very noisy with the kitchen buzzer and front door - we were woken at 3am as other guests returned as the Riad does not supply you with a door key.||The cleaning staff were lovely though we were taken aback when we left a tip on departure and saw that the cleaner immediately gave it to the manager!||On one occasion we ordered food from the ‘express menu’ which was a burger and chips - not chips but crisps and when we said we didn’t want the fruit, tea or coffee we were still charged the same price, €20 for a burger that would just about feed a child, we weren’t even allowed to swap out the hot drinks for a can of coke.||We did attempt to question this but were shut down very quickly and made to feel quite uncomfortable. If this had have been a 4/5 star venue then we may have accepted it more but not from a 3 star.||The plunge pool was dirty, the sun loungers dirty and the towels wet, when I asked for a dry towel I was told this was all they had.||Unfortunately, not worth the money we paid and would certainly recommend you look at all options for a better and fairer deal.

This is a lovely riad, a "boutique hotel" housed in an old mansion, with just 8 large, restful rooms. Our room was just off the open-to-the-sky atrium, and I was afraid it would be a bit noisy, but after about 10 p.m. they close off the top of the atrium and the room was absolutely quiet and dark -- not a sound from outside. Our room was 2 levels with comfortable sofas on the ground level and a nice queen-sized bed in the library/loft. I actually slept on the sofa, which they made up as a bed for me, since I don't climb stairs that well, and it was very comfortable. It was just a 5 minute walk through the souk to the Jemaa el-Fna, the heart of the action. My daughter and I walked back to the riad one night close to midnight, and felt perfectly safe (and not in danger of losing our way). The staff is friendly and attentive, and those you interact with speak enough English (though it's helpful in Morocco if you speak at least some French -- even better if you speak Arabic, but I was able to learn only three words in Arabic). I would definitely stay here again.
