Riad Altair, a Design Boutique Hotel Marrakesh, Morocco

"The riad is ideally located in a quiet street, only 100 metres from the Bab Doukkala mosque. The Double Terrace on the roof offers a panoramic view of the Red City. This typical Moroccan house has been completely renovated to offer modern comfort. The patio and pool will be a cool oasis in the heat of the day. The Riad Altair features 6 large air-conditioned rooms, all decorated in a blend of traditional and modern styles. This hotel offers Moroccan cooking lessons, massages and beauty treatments. Thanks to its privileged location the riad is only a short walk to the bazaars and 10 minutes from Jamaâ El Fna Square." - My Boutique Hotel (en)

We have just spent 7 nights at the Riad Altair, our first time in Marrakech. |We had a wonderful time! The hotel is beautiful, a haven of peace after exploring the city. Our room was lovely, spacious with a large bathroom. The hotel is well placed and within easy reach of the main attractions. There is a lovely roof area to relax in the sun if you wish. We cannot praise the staff highly enough, they are all so cheerful and helpful. We ate in the hotel each evening and the food was superb. Each night chef Saida served us three courses of traditional Moroccan cuisine, delicious. Yassine, our waiter, was always happy and smiling, he always explained the dish and its ingredients and was very helpful in telling us how to get to the places we were visiting. Thanks also to Samira who cleaned our rooms and, on one evening, also cooked us a lovely meal. The breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of fresh fruits, home made yoghurt, pancakes, fresh bread, croissants and sweet pastries and eggs. Finally, a special thank you to Abdou, the manager, who made us feel so welcome and was always helpful.|This a fabulous place to stay and we would not hesitate to go there again.

Wow wow wow! Myself and friend have just arrived back home after the most wonderful stay at Riad Altair. ||We were met at our taxi (which we arranged with the Riad) by a lovely lady who walked us to the Riad, she was so welcoming and friendly. ||When we stepped inside, it smelt wonderful and was wonderfully peaceful. We arrived very late due to delays but they had prepared us a meal which was really delicious. (We had arranged the meal in advance) ||Our room was absolutely gorgeous and spotlessly clean. Perfect size for 2 people, plenty of storage space, towels, robes and toiletries. I was really impressed. It was peaceful all night, we popped the air con on and had the best sleep. ||We were greeted in the morning by lovely, happy, smiley staff. Breakfast was plentiful, fruits, yogurt, breads, egg, pancakes and more. We even had English tea. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff they were absolutely wonderful. ||The rooftop terrace is lovely, perfect to sunbathe, there is also places to relax in shade. The small pool is wonderful after a long hot day exploring. ||Yasim sat down with us, gave us a map and lots of information/ tips. What a wonderful man. All of the staff were amazing, polite, friendly, helpful. ||I would have loved to have stayed longer, it really felt so homely. ||The location was fab, a short walk to Jemaa El-Fnaa Square. Lots of cash points on the way. ||Thank you so much for an amazing stay. We loved everything. xx

What a beautiful, tranquil, calm place. Everything is really classy and clean and relaxing. A beautiful Riad with a beautiful roof terrace too. The staff are all so lovely, nothing is too much trouble, they arranged taxis for us each time we went further afield and in general were friendly and welcoming. Location is great, you are 15 mins walk from everything. We had a lovely breakfast here. Unfortunately we didn't get chance to eat here on an evening as we packed so much into our 3 night stay but heard good things from the other guests. Definitely recommend!

We were 3 couples staying at this amazing place. It is an oasis of calm with a great roof terrace to watch the sunset. Abdul, the manager, was a fantastic host going above and beyond to make our stay truly memorable. The rooms were comfortable and Moroccan, the breakfasts varied, fresh and plentiful and we had 2 evening meals, which were delicious. |Abdul was so helpful, arranging a trip to the Atlas Mountains and suggesting places to visit. All of the staff were friendly and welcoming. |We all agreed that we would return.

We had a fantastic stay at Riad Altair and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Marrakech. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the friendly and attentive staff, who made us feel right at home. The riad has only six rooms, which creates a peaceful, intimate atmosphere—perfect for relaxing after a day in the busy medina.||Our room was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. The entire riad has a calm, home-like feel that made it easy to unwind. Breakfast was delicious every morning, with fresh local ingredients, and we also had dinner there one evening, which was excellent.||The staff were always happy to help with recommendations and directions, and their hospitality really made our stay special. A true hidden gem!

Ideal Riad to visit Marrakech. Service from start to finish was exemplary. Everyone very friendly. Spotlessly clean everywhere.Relaxing atmosphere in the central courtyard where you have breakfast and evening meal if you want. Bedroom was nicely decorated and quiet. Slept like a log. 2 roof terraces with views over the city. Nice touches like flowers, bath ropes, sun hats. It's about 20 minute walk to city center. Bits of the alleyway the hotel down are derelict but don't let that put you off. Breakfast is lots of fruit, pancakes, bread, pastries, eggs and coffee. More than enough to eat. Evening meal was lovely and romantic and beautifully served by Yassine. I would note however the meal is a bit expensive (UKprices) compared to nearby restaurants (Moroccan Prices). Wine wasn't bad. Highly recommended.

My sister and I stayed at Riad Altair for 3 nights in May 2025. The experience was fantastic! We were met by Yasim where our airport transfer dropped us off and he walked us to the Riad stopping occasionally to check we understood the directions to get to and from the Riad. Once inside he brought us mint tea and homemade biscuits and talked through a map of Marrakech highlighting places we may want to visit and ensuring we knew how to get to the areas we knew we wanted to go. We were then shown our beautiful room - Vega, a spacious superior room, ample space to store and hang clothes and a beautiful bathroom with shower gel, shampoo etc plus hairdryer. |Breakfast was lovely with lots of choice and all the staff we met were really friendly and welcoming. |The location was great, a short walk to the main square and a slightly longer walk to Rue Yves Saint Laurent in the new town. Numerous shops and bars and cafes nearby. |The Riad has a lovely peaceful room terrace where you can relax and also a plunge pool which is very refreshing after a hot day exploring the city.|I would definitely return!

Serenity. Delicious meals. Fantastic staff. These are but a few words that come to mind when we think back on our stay at the Riad Altair. Perhaps what we liked most about it was that it did not try hard to be anything but peaceful, muted, classy and clean. There were no over-the-top, in-your-face colors and patterns, no million-and-one hanging lamps that verge on a Vegas vibe, none of those visuals that some riads have - as if guests needed to be reminded every second that they are in Morocco. The place managed to do all that in a more nuanced and, ultimately, sublime, way. The Riad Altair - an amazing place to come home to after the magnificent chaos that is Marrakech.
