Today I took a cooking class at Riad Anata. I’ve read a warm recommendation on a blog and followed it. It was my first cooking class at all and I really loved it! The chef Samira took me to the market first to get the freshest fruits and afterwards we cooked everything and she did so well. I’ve never had such a delicious carrot salad and also all the other dishes were soooo delicious! So pls don’t miss a cooking class while being in Morocco and the best way to do it is at Riad Anata with the best chef Samira!

If there is a place in Morocco that I can truly call home, it’s Riad Anata. I have stayed here three times—twice with a small yoga retreat group that I brought with me. The riad has a brilliant location right at the start of the Medina. Each room is unique and charming, with beautiful attention to detail, including the bathrooms, where you feel like you’re in a spa. The mattress, the bedding—everything is incredibly comfortable and adds to the feeling of a luxurious holiday. But the real highlights are the food, the rooftop views, and their amazing cooking classes. There is nothing one could possibly dislike about Riad Anata; you can feel the care and love poured into this property. If you’re looking for a place to stay in Fez, look no further—this is your Moroccan home.

We had no idea when we booked Riad Anata how wonderful our experience would be. It’s very beautiful and incredibly well run. The staff is exceptional, gracious and so welcoming. They booked an amazing guide for us the first day who took us all around the Medina and taught us so much about the history of Fes. The next day we did the most amazing cooking class with Samira. We cannot recommend her and her wonderful class enough. And the breakfasts and dinners are so delicious.

Three of us took a cooking class with the lovely Samira today. This wonderful woman was one of the most memorable experiences of our trip. From the very beginning, it felt deeply personal and authentic — not a touristy demonstration, but a genuine glimpse into Moroccan home cooking and culture. We started the day by walking through the lively local market together, where she guided us through the stalls, teaching us how to choose the freshest vegetables, fragrant spices, and tender cuts of meat. Everyone in the market seemed to know her, and it was such a joy to experience that sense of community and warmth. Back in her kitchen, we rolled up our sleeves and helped with every part of the preparation — chopping, seasoning, tasting, and learning little family secrets passed down through generations. She was patient, kind, and so passionate about sharing her love for Moroccan food. We would highly recommend this to anyone that wants an authentic Moroccan experience.

I stayed at Riad Anata during a recent work trip, and I just wanted to thank you for a great experience. The internet connection was fast and reliable, which made it easy for me to get my work done - something I truly appreciated. The location of the Riad was also perfect. In just five minutes on foot, I could easily find a taxi to head to the New Town, where most of my meetings were. It made my stay very convenient and stress-free. Thank you again for your warm hospitality. I hope to return soon - maybe next time for leisure!

Great and cozy Riad. Idris was very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. We had an amazing breakfast and received the best service from checking in to checking out. Location was central and close to the square and restaurants.

We we’re lost with the car, coming from a long drive from Merzouga. After a whatsapp call, they directly came to us, and guided us to a parking spot. We have an amazing room and bathroom. They even have a delicious dinner prepared for us. Lovely to stay here!

Today Samira at riad Anata provided us with a fantastic cooking class. The market to get the ingredients and her way of cooking were both enjoyable. We immediately felt at home. And we had a great lunch after all our work together. Thank you Samira
