The room very decent. Very Average. Not the best of the beds. Its great if you are spending the days outside and mostly come to the room to crash. Good for 2 - 3 days. We had a situation where we couldn't get to the hotel in time for check-out. And the sweet lady that works there packed our bags neatly for us. So we are thankful for that. But it's not easy if you are dragging a huge suitcase (luggage) on the streets on Tangier. And these places have a lot of steps and no lift. So plan accordingly

Love this place!! Feels like you're in a traditional family home deep in the medina. Clean, cosy and the staff are friendly. Breakfast on the balcony is blissful each morning. Highly recommend. Also the taxi organised through the Riad is very useful, you can't drive to the front door and so the driver parks nearby and walks you through the maze of the medina to the accommodation. This is very helpful when you've just flown in and don't know where anything is!

Great place in the middle of the Medina. Clean rooms, charming riad. Needs a little bit of restoration. The bathroom in our room wasn't on suite, that can be annoying in the night. Very nice breakfast on the terrace and a friendly owner. All in all a pleasant place to stay.

Nice traditional Riad that displays style throughout. Was picked up by riad's private transfer 1am at the airport without any problems at all. Landing in another country in the early hours can be tricky. But communications with our Riad back in the UK made sure we got off to a good start in Tangier. The cost of pickup was 200 dhs and two night stay for two people was 770 dhs. Location is great with all notable attractions walking distance away. But with riads always being hemmed in the Medina, access to the main road for taxi is about 2/3 minute walk. ||The accommodation is big, with ground floor entrance that has a lounge area and small bathroom, the next two floors are where the rooms are based, and the top floor acts as a terrace for breakfast and wonderful views of the city. Our room was clean and tidy that had a private bathroom across the landing, which seemed strange when the next room along had an ensuite. The two accommodation floors also have large sofa areas for relaxation if you feel the room is bit on the small side. Breakfast here is normal for Moroccan delicacies with breads, spreads, juice, olives and mint tea on offer. Wifi here is good and seemed strong in all areas the Riad. The French owner Gilles was kind enough to arrange us a driver to take us on a half day trip to Hercules Cave and Cap Spartel for 250 dhs.||Many restaurants and convenience stores are nearby if your thinking about dinner and bottles of water. Overall we're happy with our experience at Arous Chamel, just a shame no staff were available when checking out.

A lot has changed from most of the former posts. My wife and I enjoyed our stay. There are doors on all Windows and even the bathrooms. There are toiletries as well. Giles and his wife were the perfect hosts. There is no air conditioning but not needed since there is a cool ocean breeze through the Medinah. The staff was great. Excellent breakfast and a staff member who was way more than helpful especially when we got lost. Down side while we were there, screaming kids next door. So we shut the windows. We would love to stay there again.

I stayed in the rhiad for 3 nights and I would say its quite expensive for the actual quality of the hotel. ||The staff are very friendly and the views from the roof terrace are very pretty. ||On the negative side there is a strong smell of humidity in the lower part of the building. The intercom rings throughout the entire building so any early arrivals will certainly wake you up. The curtains in the room aren’t black out so if you are a person who is a light sleeper I don’t recommend it.

A very charming riad right in the center of Tangier. Walking distance to the beach, the Medina of Tangier, and a few other notable attractions. The breakfast included is a nice touch and beautifully hosted on the terrace. It includes a mix of pieces of bread, jams, and hot beverages. The room itself was a bit small but nice. Highly recommend this riad especially if you are on a budget without sacrificing too much comfort.

This riad was such a wonderful surprise. It was beautiful inside and the service we received was impeccable. Rachid, the hotel manager, went above and beyond for us. We were three females traveling that didn't know the local language and he went out of his way to show us around the Medina and giving us suggestions for our time in Tangier. I would highly highly recommend this Raid as a safe and beautiful spot to stay.
