Riad Azoulay

A wonderful Riad in a quieter part of the old town. Incredibly friendly and polite staff who can’t do enough for you. Beautiful interiors and spotlessly clean. Great breakfasts and dinners. Lovely roof terrace. An oasis of calm to escape the chaos of the medina!

My wife & I booked Riad Azoulay for our honeymoon and it was by far the highlight of our trip — not only due to the intimate & serene environment of the riad itself, but due to the humble & brilliant staff. We don't have enough kind words to say about Yasir and the rest of the staff, who were extremely sympathetic and kind to us, especially as my wife had her luggage lost by the airline. The service is top tier, and the riad is well situated in the heart of Old Medina, with all the markets, sights, and eateries (both upscale & local fast food) within walking distance. The hamam was also excellent, and we felt rejuvenated after a few days of trekking around the city and surrounding areas. And of course, we will miss the furry & playful master of the house, Azoul! 🐈

Riad Azulay is absolutely stunning — an oasis of peace and tranquillity, perfect for escaping the vibrant energy of the Medina. Its serene atmosphere makes it an ideal retreat. Breakfast was varied and delicious, and we also had the pleasure of booking a traditional Moroccan dinner — the dishes were exceptional, with the standout being the chicken Tanjia. Additionally, the hammam experience and relaxing spa massage were unforgettable — a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful team who made these experiences so special. Moreover, our biggest thanks go to Massimiliano for his warm hospitality. From the moment we arrived, he made us feel at home, offering great advice and ensuring all our needs were met. His management of the Riad and the entire staff is truly exemplary. A special mention goes to Vasser (I hope the spelling is correct, otherwise pardon me) for his kindness, helpful recommendations, and attentive service. Massimiliano, well done! Please continue the fantastic work you’re doing and the excellent way you manage the Riad and your wonderful team. I would absolutely return to Riad Azulay if I visit Marrakesh again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable stay.

This Riad is exceptional. From first entrance, the tranquility of the space is breathtaking. The staff were excellent, so helpful and they couldn’t do enough for you. With recommendations of where to go, attentive service and a friendly approach, we couldn’t ask for more. The daily house cleaning was spotless. This is a real hidden gem and I would recommend to anyone looking for an authentic visit to Marrakesh!

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights and loved it. The staff were all very nice and helpful. The pool was lovely to swim in after a day of exploring Marrakech. We had dinner one evening and we had lovely candle lights on the table and the food was fantastic. You could purchase beer and wine here and they were all very good! The rooftop is beautiful and the breakfasts were very tasty. The room had everything we needed, AC, a safe, a hot shower, a comfortable bed and filtered water brought up daily. It’s located in the Mellah and was lovely as it was away from all the tourists, it felt very authentic around the riad streets. We would highly recommend this place to anyone staying in Marrakesh.

There’s myriad of choices of accommodation in Marrakech. But i chose to look for traditional riad so we can experience what it’s like to be one of the locals. I made a perfect choice! Riad Azoulay is inside Medina,next to spice market. Walking distance to all main attraction. Clean & Beautiful. We’ve been to all hotels in the world comparing the level if service & star level. Staff of Riad tops it! Exceptional! Goes above & beyond demonstrating a high level|of commitment and dedication beyond what is expected, from hands in & prompt communications, arranging transfers, purchasing tour tickets, pick up to and from golf course, arranging over the top breakfast & dinner, to arranging surprise breakfast cake on the roof top for my husband’s bday. I have so much positive to say about Riad Azoulay. Highly recommended. Don’t look further.

Overall, our experience was very pleasant. The staff if helpful, welcoming, attentive and respectful. The food is very nice. The main area with the tiny pool is beautiful. The Riad has been renovated around 10 years ago (if I’m correct), but everything is still in good state. The Riad was kind to offer us a shuttle from the train station, the car (Mercedes V class) was new and very spacious, which was equally great. The safety inside and outside of the Riad is questionable. The outside area is extremely unsafe at night, and getting to the hotel requires going through a Medina at night, where all sorts of stuff happens. From motorbikes going at insane speeds and not respecting pedestrians, to locals doing random bone fires across the passage, throwing garbage around, and disrespecting the foreigners/visitors. Kindly read additional comments on specific topic down below. To conclude, it’s a lovely Riad, reasonable value for money, and we would come back if there was a necessity to be back to Marrakesh. The security outside, however, is a big issue, and going there alone is not recommended.
