We had a really mixed experience staying here. It’s most definitely “instagrammable” and the rooftop is stunning. The breakfast was tasty and staff were overall kind and friendly.
Our main issue was our room the first night we checked in - we arrived semi-late after a delayed flight and our room had this super overpowering floral/musky smell. It wasn’t a bad smell but it was SO strong and overwhelming. The staff sort of shrugged it off and said it’s the scent of the room. Fast forward half an hour and we realize that not only are our socks wet (?) but they smell like THE smell. Come to realize the oil from the diffuser had spilled and instead of properly cleaning it, they just rubbed it around?? When we told the staff, they brought us a mop and gave it to us, which was frankly bizarre that we had to clean the floor of our room the evening we arrived (it wasn’t us who spilled it!). Also, not a huge deal, but both our socks were ruined and soaked with this pungent oil. They didn’t give us any sort of compensation or even apology for the whole experience even though they were otherwise so kind. Just bizarre!
Honestly, that experience tainted everything else for us. It’s a gorgeous riad but don’t expect luxury - it’s a solid 2 star hotel dressed up as a 4. It’s also quite the literal echo chamber so if you’re a light sleeper, keep that in mind. Go for Instagram, if that’s important to you.
Update: In response to owners reply, thanks for your professionalism - I appreciate you all taking accountability. Unfortunately we did make the issue known to the reception at the time, so I’m not sure what else to say!
