Riad Dar Warda

An unforgettable experience! From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming and always eager to help, making us feel right at home. Our room was comfortable, and we were lucky to stay in the top room with private access to the balcony—an absolute highlight! The breakfast is absolutely amazing, typical marrocan food. The location is fantastic, just a 7-minute walk from the souks, making it easy to explore the city. At first, I was a bit overwhelmed by the lively atmosphere outside, but as soon as I stepped into the Dar, I found a peaceful and relaxing retreat. I highly recommend this place and can’t wait to stay here again! Thank you again to all the staff 🙏

Fateeha, Farida and their brother (staff)were amazing. My hubby and I stayed there for a week. Their hospitality was incredible. They did their job with so much passion and dedication. Lavish breakfast was served everyday. They even offered to pack breakfast for us when we went for trips. Fateeha walked with us to the taxi stand on the day we left. Absolutely touching it was . Farida ordered mint tea and saffron upon our request to bring it back home .The Riad was always maintained clean and tidy. Will definitely stay there again if we visit Marakech.

Absolutely wonderful and welcoming staff. They helped us with any question or request we had. The rooms were cozy and comfortable, though they also have bigger rooms that were fully booked. Cute Moroccan bathrooms of tile and clay, with reliable hot water. 10 min walk to the market, 20 min walk to the center of the big market. The walk is also not winding, so it’s pretty easy and most people won’t get lost. Highly recommend! Can’t wait to stay here again.

A surprise in the heard of the Medina. Getting out of the taxi and being met by the friendly staff who walk you down a maze of alleys, you wouldn’t know Dar Warda was there. But what a charming little oasis! With its plunge pool, flowers and homely decor, Dar Warda is full of traditional, Moroccan character - a road as it should be. I stayed in the nomad suite, which was a calm and tranquil room to come back to after the chaotic streets of Marrakech. The rich, warm colours of the bathroom and luxurious toiletries were simply amazing. The food at Dar Warda is delicious - breakfast was traditional and plentiful - and all the staff looked after me very well. Their advice during my short time in Marrakech was much appreciated. I especially enjoyed standing on the roof terrace watching the sunset and admiring the view across the city over to the mountains. What an incredible experience!

From the minute we landed at the airport in Marrakesh, Riad Dar Warda took care of us like we were family. We were met at the airport and driven to and then into the old city as far as our vehicle could go. We parked in a small square and were met by still more friendly people who loaded our suitcases onto handcarts and led us down a maze of connecting walkways and tunnels into the heart of the Medina. One of the hotel staff, Abdel, walked with us and told me of his life in Marrakesh and his Berber heritage (in beautiful English). We arrived at the end of a tunnel at an ancient, thousand-year-old door and knocked. Behind the door, we entered a small corridor at the end of which was a beautiful fountain. There we turned right and into the courtyard of the Riad. How glorious! Three stories of rooms and terraces overlooking a central courtyard with a small central bathing pool. Our bags where whisked away to our rooms, and we were led to a comfortable seating area looking out onto the courtyard. Abdel's sisters Fatiha and Farida greeted us with traditional Moroccan mint tea and homemade delicacies.||In the days that followed, we spent our time equally divided between exploring the delights of both the old and new parts of Marrakesh and relaxing in the Riad's numerous common areas, including the courtyard, two terraced gardens, two roof top terraces with cabanas, the enclosed TV and reading room, full of books about Morocco, and the living room that is open to the courtyard. Our rooms themselves were spectacular - large and comfortable, with multiple large windows opening into the courtyard. I had the opportunity to see many of the rooms. Each had its own name and theme, and all had been renovated and decorated with a high level of artistry, with attention to locally crafted items. They were elegant, first class rooms with all the amenities you would see in a high-end hotel.||We elected to have most of our meals at the Riad, dining either in the formal dining room, or open air in the courtyard or on the rooftop terrace. It is said that home cooking in Morocco is better than any restaurant, and Fatiha and Farida proved it to be true. Sitting down to a meal at Riad Dar Warda is a lavish, sumptuous and delicious experience, not to mention beautiful. And, I spent perhaps my two favorite days in the kitchen with Fatia and Farida, learning to cook their delicious Moroccan dishes.||Abdel arranged two day trips for us outside of the city, to Essaouira and to the Atlas Mountains. In both cases we walked to the square and were met by a congenial driver with a comfortable van. Both drives were leisurely, stopping according to our interests, and both destinations were delightful, each in their own way.||The best thing about Raid Dar Warda though is the people. The owners have a profound love of Morocco, their hotel and staff, who themselves are siblings. The driver is their father. I was so happy to meet Farida's and Fatiha's daughters, spending one afternoon with the delightful 16-year-old Nouhaiila, who I think spoke better French and English than I. This riad is about love – for Morocco and for family, the family we are given and the family we choose. I hope to bring my entire family, including my five nieces, to visit Morocco and stay at Riad Dar Warda. It is a home away from home.

Everyone has been super friendly; the place is hidden at the end of a narrow dead-alley... it may look sketchy at the beginning, but once the door opens you are even more amazed. Really nice, clean, the terrace is utterly beautiful. |Breakfast is really good, everything fresh and tasty; excellent value for money.|Thanks again for your warm welcome and nice stay

The real highlight of this place is the exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. The riad is very ethnic and delightful as a result. Our room was comfortable and kept very clean. Towels were changed regularly. Breakfast was served outside rooms which made it feel intimate and homely. Breakfast was carbohydrate rich!

Having booked Dar Warda for a long weekend with my partner we were very much looking forward to the sights and smells of Marrakech. ||||The Riad is lovely and the staff are amazing however be careful at night. The Riad is in a very isolated part of the Medina and you need to walk down 2 deserted alleyways, ||||Unfortunately coming back from a restaurant on our second night my partner got distracted by some people and we got separated only by a few feet but it was enough for someone to come out of nowhere and physically assault and rob my partner leaving here with cuts and bruises .It was incredibly upsetting and completely ruined our stay in Morocco. The staff were helpful and called the police but unfortunately it appears it is quite common.
