A secret oasis of peace and calm in the bustle of the medina. We stayed as a family of four, including two teenage daughters, for three nights and loved our stay. The riad is small but perfectly appointed and nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. The rooms are small but I suspect that is normal for a riad in such a central location. There are two nice spaces downstairs to sit and relax. The food was delicious, both the dinner we had on arrival and the excellent breakfast. We also did the cooking class, which included a great tour by Peter the owner, and we then enjoyed the Moroccan dishes we made for lunch on the terrace. Our teenage girls loved it. As did we. The staff are wonderful - super attentive, smiley and kind. |It’s not easy to find - although we were met and helped with our bags on arrival - so do make use of the local map app. |Overall, a fabulous place in the heart of the medina. We loved hanging out on the terrace and listening to the call of prayer. A special place.

Service and friendliness was top noch! Place exactly as shown on pictures in adverts. Lovely courtyard and terrace. The room was a bit dark and on a smaller size, but I managed to get myself organised despite that. Sometimes, talking noises from the room next door can be heard, but as long as you are unlucky with arrogant neighbours who do not care to be quiet, it should be fine. Place is suitable for those who prefer and respect peace and quiet. Good location too. Breakfast is plentiful but is repetitive, which is fine for a short stay but may be a downside for a longer stay. Dinner at riad is must have - delicious food, intimate atmosphere and good price compared to high rated touristy restaurants.

Staying a night at Riad Dar Zaman felt as though we’d been welcomed with care into an old friend’s home. Excellent communication beforehand from Peter; a smooth & comfortable transfer from the airport, well worth booking; the best & most helpful welcome from Hassan that we’ve EVER received somewhere we’ve stayed, which was the perfect introduction to confidently exploring Marrakesh; a great location for exploring the medina; warm & friendly service from Adel; beautiful food prepared by Karima; a comfortable bed; and a lush breakfast (very vegan friendly) served on a sweet terrace. You know somewhere is excellent when you’ve only stayed one night and feel this strongly about how great it is!

The Cooking Class at Dar Zaman was the TOP highlight of our one week in Morocco. It starts with a guided walk around the neighborhood, which in itself is an exceptional experience. Peter took us to places, which we'd never visit on our own (inside the hammam, the local bakery etc. etc.). It's a great way to learn about the local life in the most friendly and funny atmosphere. And then the cooking itself takes place in the most welcoming and home-like circumstances. The dishes we cooked were sooooo delicious...

We just stayed here for a week and couldn't have wished for better. The Riad is lovely and peaceful. The staff are all amazing and cannot do enough for you. Special mention to Hamza who works tirelessly to look after your every need.|We will definitely be recommending.

Riad Dar Zaman is nestled in a corner of the Medina, and is an absolutely wonderful place from which to explore Marrakech, and further afield. There is so much to see within an easily walkable distance from the hotel, and yet it itself is in an incredible peaceful spot you'd hardly know you were so close to the hustle and bustle of the souks.||||Our hosts were unbelievably kind, they could not have been more courteous or welcoming, and were all so warm and friendly you'll find it very difficult to find better service. Hamza, Adil and Hassan gave us tips and advice for things to do and see, told us stories about Morocco and themselves, and helped us book and arrange our visits and tours. We also ate here twice as one of our party is vegan and the food was incredibly good. Highly recommend for vegans looking to stay somewhere in Marrakech, this is an excellent place to eat.||||The riad itself is beautiful, and there the small pool in the courtyard is perfect for soaking your feet after a hot day exploring!||||As mentioned by others it can be tricky to find at first, me and my partner arrived separately from different flights, but Hamza easily on hand to help us get there with no issues. Also when leaving, Hassan helped us to the pick up point and rang our driver when they were late to make sure we got to the airport on time! ||||Cannot recommend this place highly enough. Next time we are in Marrakech we will 100% be coming back to use Dar Zaman as our base of exploration!

A day of fun preparing a delicious traditional Moroccan meal…|We enjoyed this cookery class at the Riad Dar Zaman. |Peter took us on a tour of the Medina seeing the communal bread oven, the workings of the Hammam baths then on to the vegetable and spice market stalls. Meandering back to the beautiful Riad through the maize of narrow passageways we soaked up the charm of Marrakech. |We (eight women) learned about the combination of spices to use in the chicken Tajine, various vegetable dishes and desserts we prepared. |Hassane talked us through the instructions for chef Karima. These delightful people made the whole experience very special for us. |I was recommended this cookery class by a friend.. we pass on our recommendation now. |We as a group like to make memories together and this was a light hearted informative day made special by Peter, Hassane and Karima. Thank you!

They said make yourself at home, so I did, it wasn't difficult!... This Riad is a gem. Comfortable and authentic. Rooms surround a beautiful interior courtyard, as cool as it is hot outside.I had the Terrace room, good size with shower, everything I needed. The bed was the comfiest ever. Breakfast is good. But the best about Dar Zaman are the staff...nothing is too much trouble, they really did go over and above to make my stay special. Helpful advice from Hamza and Hassan was invaluable. In fact, they all make for a great team. I would definitely recommend a stay in this lovely Riad.
