What a beautiful and wonderful hotel! Perfect location - a nice quiet and peaceful space, you don’t hear anything from outside when you’re in the riad, even though it’s located so close to the souks and other sites like Jardin Secret, as well as many nice spas (WA spa was great) and good restaurants/bars (you must make sure you book a table at either even if it’s not high season, you can’t just walk in because there are never free tables!) and it’s a short walk to the main square too. It’s a brilliant base to explore the city from.
Taxis cannot drop you at the riad - they will drop you near the Dar El Bacha museum and then you need to walk about 7 mins, it’s easy enough with google maps.
The staff at the riad were suuuuper friendly and helpful. The breakfast on the rooftop every morning was so wonderful - fresh Moroccan tea or coffee, fresh Moroccan breads of a different variety each morning, eggs however you like them, fresh fruit, homemade yoghurt (which is unreal, you’ll understand when you try it!!) - the tomato tart on one of the days was incredible. We didn’t eat dinner at the riad as you have to let them know in the morning that you want dinner preparing - worth noting if you want that on the day you arrive, however on one of the days we took a trip out of Marrakech and needed to leave very early, they prepared some snacks for us to take out for breakfast which was really appreciated!
There are 6 rooms in total I think, one downstairs in the courtyard and 5 on the 1st floor. The room was clean and plenty of space for two, no drain smell issues like I saw in reviews of other riads (I guess a lot of old sewage pipes, but not a problem here!). A few points that I feel are important to mention: the first is the lack of door between the room and the toilet - only a curtain! But honestly everything else was so wonderful, and we got over this issue quickly. However, if that could be rectified it would be ideal! There are no windows to outside (only to the inner courtyard, but I think this is very common with Riads due to the way they are built) - we eventually figured out decent airflow in the night with the AC on and a window open - once we did this all was fine. If you want 100% privacy and separation from al other people you need to stay in a big hotel on the outskirts, but by doing that you won’t really experience Marrakech properly since the riads are beautiful and unique with their inner courtyards and fountains!
Having the hot tub on the rooftop is a bonus (you just need to let the staff know 1 hour before you want to use it!).
I would genuinely recommend staying here to anyone. Marrakech is incredible, everyone was so friendly and kind - this is a trip we will never forget. Thank you Riad Enchanté ❤️
