The riad is well located, with a nice interior and generally kind staff. However, several issues made our stay uncomfortable, and I feel it's important to warn others considering booking.|The pool, which is heavily featured in photos and listed as available to guests, was completely drained. We were told it would be ready in one to two days, but after following up several times, we asked to speak with the manager. Instead of coming to us, we were called downstairs and made to sit on low stools while she remained seated above us. Through a staff translator, she laughed at our concerns and gave conflicting explanations: that the pool wasn’t included, was decorative, or only for children. When we asked for a gesture to make up for it—having paid to use another riad’s pool during six days of 35°C heat—she said no. I offered a chance to resolve the situation before leaving a review, and she said she would sort something. Nothing was done, and staff largely avoided us afterward.|That night, a male staff member knocked on our door after midnight, demanding we pay the remaining balance (10%), despite being told at check-in it would be settled at the end. We said we would pay in the morning, but it felt unnecessarily confrontational and unsafe, especially as young female travellers.|The next morning, our coeliac friend, who had previously been accommodated, was served regular pastries. Despite clearly explaining the allergy, staff insisted they were gluten-free. She became sick after one bite. This was too much of a coincidence after our previous altercation about the pool. At the best it showed a serious lack of food safety awareness.|Our shower was also broken for the entire stay. We reported it three times, but nothing was done.|We raised our concerns respectfully, but were met with dismissiveness and no accountability. No compensation was offered. For the price we paid, the service and handling of issues were very disappointing.
