Riad Houdou, a Design Boutique Hotel Marrakesh, Morocco

"Built in a traditional Moroccan style this guest house is located in Marrakech. It offers a swimming pool, and a terrace with views of the Atlas Mountains and Koutoubia Minaret. Each air-conditioned room in the Riah Houdou has a private bathroom and free Wi-Fi. Some rooms have a balcony. At the Riah Houdou, guests can enjoy Moroccan cuisine in the restaurant. Afterwards guests can relax in the tearoom, lounge rooms or library. There is a garden and patio, which is decorated with fruit trees. Massage and beauty treatments are also available. As the guest house is placed in the heart of the historical district, it is close to the Medersa Ben Youssef, Marrakesh Museum and the famous Jemma El Fna Square, which are all just a few minutes away from the guest house." - My Boutique Hotel (en)

I had the most wonderful stay at Riad Houdou. The hospitality here is second to none, everyone was incredibly accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. The rooms were stunning, spotlessly clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated, making it feel like a true home away from home. The staff was always available and super responsive via WhatsApp, making it easy to get in touch at any time. The location is fantastic, just a 20-minute walk to all the main attractions in the area. However it’s tucked away and quiet so you don’t hear the outside medina noise. And the food absolutely delicious! Plus, the spa and hammam are definitely worth it. A perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting. They arranged a reasonably priced taxi and luggage service for us, and can store luggage. It’s incredibly safe and the doors are always locked. A memorable stay with top-notch service all around!

Excellent Riad, a true gem in the mayhem of the Medina. ||Thanks to Eric, Didier, Abdel and all the team for a fantastic stay. From the beginning sit down with a mint tea, passing on all the advice on how to get around, how much to pay for certain services and what to watch out for to the breakfasts each morning and all the brilliant extra services we had a great time. ||The medina itself is stunning with so many extra places to hide away, and a beautiful house cat. The rooftop has ample space for chilling, and imagine the pool (and private pool in the room) would be a god send for hot summer stays. ||The dinner we enjoyed was very authentic, and fair value for the price. The hike we did was amazing, we thought it was worth the value but understand it could seem expensive compared to trips offered in the medina. Couples hammam was a whole new experience and massage also good.

In a quiet corner nearby the medina. Quiet riad with a good mix of modern and traditional Moroccan decor. They have a friendly cat who likes to follow you and walk around. The rooms have decent sized beds with brightly colored wallpaper. The cleaning staff comes in while you’re exploring and leaves out cookies with water. Owners and staff were very polite and helpful. Nice terrace pool to soak in at the end of the day. Food was amazing and made fresh by the chefs.

Eric and Didier and the rest of the team at Riad Houdou were outstanding. The Riad is furnished exquisitely, as you would expect from someone with Eric's previous career. Nothing was too much effort for the team. The welcome from Eric, and information he gave us when we arrived was extremely useful, and ensured we got to know the city quickly. The room itself was beautifully appointed (we had a junior suite) and the breakfasts were delicious, homemade, and different everyday. There is a sun terrace at the top, with a lovely pool, if you are tired from the souks. We loved everything about it and wish we could have stayed longer. Thanks very much to the whole team at Riad Houdou.

Had a fantastic stay at Riad Houdou. The staff were amazing and very helpful. Marrakech can be a little overwhelming when you first arrive but they walked us through the map and gave tips on how to go about our day. The location also was perfect - it was near a parking lot where we got dropped off and picked up from the airport and there are people there to help with luggage to the riad which is maybe a 1-2 minute walk. It's also walking distance from all the major spots in the medina but in a quiet alley so it's also peaceful during the day and night. We did the hammam in the riad too and that was also a great experience. Wished I spent more time here!

Riad Houdou was a tranquil Edan away from the hustle and bustle of the streets. We were made to feel so welcome and given fantastic advice about Moroccan culture and places to visit. The staff team, owners and pets felt like extended family during our stay. The massage I had was of high quality and the traditional evening meal we booked at the Riad was delicious and plentiful!

If you’re planning a trip to Marrakech I couldn’t imagine a better place to stay than Riad Houdou. It is conveniently located a stone’s throw from the souks and restaurants of the Medina, whilst at the same time being tucked away down a side street, creating an oasis of calm once you enter. The riad is beautiful - internal courtyards with mature trees, seating areas thoughtfully laid out across the extensive ground floor and a stunning roof terrace with plunge pool. The decor bridges traditional Moroccan design and contemporary chic. What really sets this riad apart (aside from the owners’ obvious flair for interior design!) is the incredible welcome from all members of the team. Whether is was help making a restaurant booking, planning an excursion or travel to/from the airport nothing was too much trouble. When leaving for an early flight we were even packed off with a breakfast to eat in the airport! A huge thank you to Didier, Eric and their wonderful team, we hope to be back one day!
