Riad Houdou

Truly excellent place to stay. A calm and luxurious place in the middle of the medina. It was worth booking the transit the riad provided as the Riad Houdou isn’t the easiest to find and the surrounding area is very busy. The owners and staff were superb and provided an amazing level of help and information. Breakfast was really good and set you up for the day. The room was very nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. There is a lovely rooftop pool and sun terrace. Weather in April/May was very good. If I return to Marrakesh I will stay there again.

Staying at the Riad Houdou was a fabulous experience. Located within the ,medina, it is a fairly short walk to the main central square Jamaa el Fna, which is really awesome. |Right from the start the Riad manager, Abdel was super helpful and made me feel so welcome. His introduction to Marrakech was invaluable and gives really good guidance on how to experience Marrakech, be safe and how to negotiate with taxis. All in all, I’m sure the tips he gave me saved me hundreds of dirhams and helped me navigate my way around Marrakech. |I found the Riad very pleasant and authentic, with character and charm. I always had a fantastic breakfast and Abdel was particularly accommodating in ensuring I was provided with an early breakfast when I had early excursions or an early taxi for the airport. |The rooms are delightful, air conditioned, clean and very well maintained. I do recommend the in house hammam provided by the on site beauty specialist.I would stay at the Riad Houdou again without hesitation, and I’d like to say a special thanks to all the staff who made my stay so delightful.

We left today after a 1 week visit to Marrakech and we feel like we have left family behind. From the owners Didier and Eric to ALL the staff, every day was met with a heartfelt smile and all the information we needed for wherever we were going. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure that our stay was unforgettable. Our room was kept beautifully clean and was “guarded” by Houdou, the purple camel. We had a lovely quiet seating area just outside with a games area that boasted comfortable sofas practically all to ourselves. |Breakfast was delicious and slightly different every day. We only had 1 evening meal in the Riad, but it was excellent. |The rooftop pool area was an added plus and saved us from the heat on a couple of afternoons. The only negative point was that there wasn’t a toilet on that floor, but we were told that this will probably be resolved in the future. |If we ever go back to Marrakech, we will not hesitate to return to Riad Houdou. (I hope the cat will remember me 😁💕)

We had a truly enjoyable stay at this lovely Riad. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived. In true Moroccan gracious form, we shared mint tea with one of the owners. An oral orientation followed this pleasantry. We pre-ordered dinner for our first night. It was not only delicious, but a perfect way to ease into Marrakech. I highly recommend this option if you have a late arrival. The rooms and common spaces are lovingly and tastefully decorated. Everything is spotlessly clean. The rooftop terrace and pool offer a welcome retreat from the somewhat chaotic city. The staff is outstanding!

Stop looking! Most adorable place ever!!! Beautiful decorated rooms, beautiful common spaces, excellent breakfast. Great location in the Medina. The owners and workers are very attentive. For a special experience, have them cook you dinner. The enclosed patio is romantic. What a find.

We had the perfect first stay in Marrakech in this beautiful riad. Initially it was hard to choose the riad as there are so many lovely riads out there, but we were so happy we chose this one. We were so warmly welcomed and Abdel explained everything we needed to know about the riad and about Marrakech (how to get around, how to negotiate a taxi fare, how to bargain in souks, etc). We really felt like home there right away. The owner was also so nice, iving us useful tips about the sights. We were always greeted with a smile and eagerness to assist by all the staff there. The location was perfect (walking distance to all the major sites), and the riad itself was very beautiful. We had the room downstairs with a small plunge pool, and we loved how private and secluded it was. The breakfast was one of the highlights of the day. It was wonderful to enjoy the peaceful, yet delicious moment watching the birds chirping above the rooftops and the mountains with the rising sun. The pool area was the perfect escape after a hot day in the souks. Rajaa gave us a wonderful hammam experience, and we were left with a wonderful relaxed feeling. This was absolutely one of the best hospitality experience we've ever had, we loved every second and we will definitely be back. Merci beaucoup!

Amazing stay at a beautiful Riad. Everything about our stay far exceeded our expectations. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The decor was amazing and the ambience was superb. The swimming pool and the surrounding area was a very welcome place to relax after long hot days around the souks. Would highly recommend staying here if visiting Marrakech.
