Riad Jaaneman, Marrakech, Morocco - Explore & Book

"After a heady day getting lost in the medina, bartering in the souks and dodging snake charmers, you’ll almost certainly find yourself in need of an escape. And Riad Jaanamen is just the place. As you veer off down a dark alley and enter through a conspicuous side door, you could never imagine that what hides inside could be so beautiful, so peaceful, so zen.The riad is set around a courtyard with exotic plants that shoot up to the heavens. Birds swoop overhead, and there’s a dipping pool for cooling off in. It all feels very tropical. Next to the courtyard are 2 salons decorated with designer lamps, an enormous fireplace, a towering mirror and trinkets from around the world. Italian owner Leonardo Giangreco, who used to live here with his family, has style in his genes and clearly spent his time in Marrakech scouring the souks for treasures. His collections decorate the 5 resplendent rooms, which each have their own quirky design themes. When you tire of wandering the souks, hide away in your chamber with a Moroccan mint tea and a plate of sticky pastries, then head up to the roof to loll on the loungers with a cool beer in hand. Divine. Highs Unique, romantic suites with vintage furniture, modern art pieces and marble bathroomsThe oasis-like courtyard with palms, bamboo and climbing ivyDelicious breakfasts that include healthy smoothie shots and homemade yoghurt; traditional Morocco dinners are also available on requestImpeccable service from the staff; the vibe is relaxed and very friendlyBrilliant location in the heart of the medina, yet tucked away to block out all noise from outside Lows The pool isn’t really for swimming in, more for cooling off toesIt's a little quiet in the riad for dining in, but this might be a welcome break from the lively restaurants of the medinaBees were a bit of a nuisance at breakfast, but this is a seasonal issue and staff are working hard to sort the problemAlthough kids are welcome, the romantic atmosphere of the riad means it's not ideal for little ones" - Lucy Richardson

Riad Jaaneman (Marrakech, Morocco) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"It’s essential to the genre of the riad hotel that it maintain a residential feeling, but Jaaneman, more than most, is easy to imagine as a private home — it was in fact the home of the current owner, prior to its refashioning as a luxurious five-room boutique guest house. Its owner’s Italian heritage is evident in the house’s stylish, contemporary fixtures and furnishings, though of course the dominant aesthetic impression is pure, luxurious Moroccan seclusion." - Tablet Hotels

This place is amazing. Amazingly decorated riad not only on the court yard but also inside of the rooms - exactly like the website picture and possibly even nicer. Most importantly, The staff are so welcoming, helpful, nice, really have a home feel to it, I would give them 10 stars if I could. The location is also really nice - it is on the more quiet corner of the Medina so it feels a lot less hectic when you walk out, but walkable to everywhere. Very safe neighborhood, staff will pick you up from taxi drop off and help with luggage so super convenient. They also have a private hammam which is super nice, spotlessly clean. Great shower pressure. 1000% recommend.

We had such a wonderful stay! The staff truly made the experience unforgettable. Lahcen was amazing- he went out of his way to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. He was not only attentive but also genuinely friendly and easy to talk to. Muhummad was equally fantastic, greeting us every morning with a smile and looking after us throughout the day. Their kindness made us feel less like guests and more like family.||Our first night set the tone perfectly. We enjoyed an intimate dinner by the fire, surrounded by petals, with no one else around. It completely surpassed our expectations-private, romantic, and beautifully arranged. The staff put so much effort into making it special, and it truly was an incredible start to our stay.||We also treated ourselves to a private hammam and massage, which was both relaxing and authentic. It was the perfect way to unwind and immerse ourselves in the experience.||On top of all this, the location was ideal, just steps away from the vibrant shuks and Bacha Coffee, making it easy to explore and enjoy Marrakesh’s charm.||Overall, everything exceeded our expectations. From the staff’s warmth to the thoughtful touches, we couldn’t recommend this place more highly.

Great stay at Riad Jaaneman. Lahcen welcomed us and accommodated all of our needs the entire time. The fresh orange juice at breakfast and impeccable service made our stay amazing. The room was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. The riad was also conveniently located near shops and top sights, while still being quiet and tucked away from the noise. Would definitely stay again.

My partner and I had the opportunity to stay at Riad Janeman in Marrakech, and it was an amazing experience! The architecture and decoration was beautiful, and there are a very special collection of art that showcase African artists. Each room offers an unique though always considering the comfort and creativity of the guest. The staff are incredibly attentive and very knowledgeable of the area, always providing recommendations and good advice. The riad is located in the historic centre close to well-known locations such as Bacha Coffee and Le Jardin — ideal for a lazy afternoon... Internet connections were excellent and the riad offers additional unique facilities including a petite cinema, complimentary bicycles, and a terrace with views overlooking the gardens of the Royal Palace — a lovely spot to relax. We also visited the Yves Saint Laurent Museum during our stay and spent a full day staying at La Pause eco-lodge in Agafe Desert, which we would both very much recommend and happily do again.. Overall, our stay at Janeman was amazing and we would highly recommend arranging to stay at Janeman for anyone visiting Marrakech.

My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights on our first trip to Marrakech, and it was a lovely experience. The location is great, right outside the central shopping area so that you’re not overwhelmed by vendors, but close enough that you are able to walk to most attractions within 20 minutes. The only thing was it was down an alleyway, which lends itself to the quiet Riad feeling, but can be a little daunting at night, but we never had any problems. I did the Hamman and Massage experience, and it was probably one of the best massages I ever received. The breakfast was very good, and the shuttle too and from the airport provided a great sense of security. The only thing worth note is that the doors DO NOT HAVE LOCKS ON THEM. Our stuff was completely fine the whole time, but we definitely kept our passports and wallets on us at all times. Even knowing this we would book the Riad again, as it’s a small place with very few guests, but it would have been nice to know ahead of time.

We had the best stay! Staff is really kind and made our brief holiday really special. Lahcen and Mouhamed were very very attentive, smiling and discreet. Lovely! Breakfast is rich and served in an informal yet personalized and elegant manner, with yogurt, fresh fruits, coffee, tea, fresh juices and eggs made especially for us. The rooms could be a little more looked after, but everything was so nice, it was fine! A presto!

Very nice riad in an excellent location. Close to all kinds of hotspots, yet very (very!) quiet inside the riad. The perfect place to relax after wandering the busy streets of Marrakech. The rooms were lovely, breakfast was tasty, and the people were very kind.|Definitely recommend!

We had such a lovely 4-night stay at Riad Jaaneman! Ishamael was incredibly attentive and super helpful with tips on how to navigate the busy streets of Marrakesh — honestly, his advice made a big difference. The riad itself is stunning — only five rooms, so it felt really calm and intimate, like a little oasis away from the hustle and bustle. Its very conveniently located where the souks and main square are all walking distance from the Riad. The decor is beautiful, and the two tortoises wandering around were such a sweet touch. We didn’t catch the chef’s name, but wow — she’s amazing. There are loads of restaurants in Marrakesh, but definitely make time to have dinner at the riad. Her Moroccan chicken pastilla was so tasty — one of the best meals we had on the trip! Also, having hammam spas right on your doorstep was a real bonus. Would absolutely recommend staying here if you’re looking for somewhere peaceful, stylish, and welcoming in the heart of the city.
