Riad Jaaneman, Marrakech, Morocco - Explore & Book

"After a heady day getting lost in the medina, bartering in the souks and dodging snake charmers, you’ll almost certainly find yourself in need of an escape. And Riad Jaanamen is just the place. As you veer off down a dark alley and enter through a conspicuous side door, you could never imagine that what hides inside could be so beautiful, so peaceful, so zen.The riad is set around a courtyard with exotic plants that shoot up to the heavens. Birds swoop overhead, and there’s a dipping pool for cooling off in. It all feels very tropical. Next to the courtyard are 2 salons decorated with designer lamps, an enormous fireplace, a towering mirror and trinkets from around the world. Italian owner Leonardo Giangreco, who used to live here with his family, has style in his genes and clearly spent his time in Marrakech scouring the souks for treasures. His collections decorate the 5 resplendent rooms, which each have their own quirky design themes. When you tire of wandering the souks, hide away in your chamber with a Moroccan mint tea and a plate of sticky pastries, then head up to the roof to loll on the loungers with a cool beer in hand. Divine. Highs Unique, romantic suites with vintage furniture, modern art pieces and marble bathroomsThe oasis-like courtyard with palms, bamboo and climbing ivyDelicious breakfasts that include healthy smoothie shots and homemade yoghurt; traditional Morocco dinners are also available on requestImpeccable service from the staff; the vibe is relaxed and very friendlyBrilliant location in the heart of the medina, yet tucked away to block out all noise from outside Lows The pool isn’t really for swimming in, more for cooling off toesIt's a little quiet in the riad for dining in, but this might be a welcome break from the lively restaurants of the medinaBees were a bit of a nuisance at breakfast, but this is a seasonal issue and staff are working hard to sort the problemAlthough kids are welcome, the romantic atmosphere of the riad means it's not ideal for little ones" - Lucy Richardson

"It’s essential to the genre of the riad hotel that it maintain a residential feeling, but Jaaneman, more than most, is easy to imagine as a private home — it was in fact the home of the current owner, prior to its refashioning as a luxurious five-room boutique guest house. Its owner’s Italian heritage is evident in the house’s stylish, contemporary fixtures and furnishings, though of course the dominant aesthetic impression is pure, luxurious Moroccan seclusion." - Tablet Hotels

The Riad was in a great location, less than 100m from taxi services as well as a great walking distance from the main square/markets. It's not too close to the hustle and bustle of the Medina but close enough to get to most places by foot.||The Riad itself is very beautiful and clean. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. Lechen was exceptionally helpful when he welcomed us during our check-in with a thorough overview of the the Medina, places to see and visit, and also things to avoid and when to be cautious including local scams.||The bedroom was nicely decorated and bathrooms were pleasant. Water pressure and temperature was noticeably great - especially as we visited during a heat wave and had to shower multiple times a day. The bed (for us) was super comfy. I prefer a harder mattress and softer pillows, so it was perfect. Room was air conditioned and the windows shut very dark so you can get a proper night's rest in darkness. ||Breakfast is included - although simple, the orange juice and bread options were very nice and eggs are also on offer. And of course, the traditional Moroccan tea.||Although I didn't take a dip in the pool, it's a lovely touch to the space in the Riad. I saw other guests cooling down in there in the July heat. I'd say this place is definitely worth the value, would recommend staying here and if I visit Marrakesh again, I will definitely be booking here again.

What an outstanding place to stay in Marrakesh. From the booking to the check out the whole experience was amazing. The service we received was second to none and that was led by Lechen and the wonderful team at the Riad. Quite simply we were made to feel more than just visitors to the Riad but a part of the family. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this as a place to stay for couples and families alike. ||All rooms are clean, stylish and well fitted out. Breakfast is a wonder and a great start to a long day looking around the city but please take the opportunity to have dinner there on one evening if you can. The food was out of this world and it felt so special with the personal service. ||Just a beautiful place to be.

Very nice room with beautiful dooryard and typical Moroccan riad design. Only had a minor problem with the toilet. Others are more than perfect. Enjoy every breakfast in the morning with tweedle and breeze. Will choose it if travel to Marrakech again

I discovered Riad Jaaneman when it was featured in an Architectural Digest article as one of the most beautiful riads in Marrakesh. It turned out to be even more enchanting than the pictures could capture. From the courtyard with plunge pool, to the rooftop, the riad is exquisitely designed. We had our family photos done in the riad because the lighting and decor were so gorgeous. We had the Negelibata suite on the second floor and the Leale suite on the first floor. Both were exceptionally luxurious and spacious with large bathrooms, plenty of closet space, and a comfortable seating area. In addition, the Leale suite came with its own private courtyard with a table, lush trees, and a 2-story waterfall that was so soothing to fall asleep to. The beds were very comfortable, and plush robes and slippers made us feel right at home. We also loved the fresh breakfast served every morning. They gave us freshly pressed juice (beet and apple or orange juice), cut up fruit, yogurt, cake (carrot, chocolate, or orange), eggs, and Moroccan pancakes served with butter, honey, and jam with coffee and mint tea. We loved the dinner so much on the first night that we canceled our restaurant reservation on the last night so we could eat at the riad again. We had the beef tagine with prunes and roasted almonds. It was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. Plus, all staff went above and beyond to make us feel like we were extended family rather than just hotel guests. I could feel that they very much wanted us to feel cared for and have everything be to our liking so we would enjoy our stay with them and in Marrakesh. And they absolutely succeeded. I was already figuring out when I could return before I even left. To top it off, the location is central to many of the places you may want to see. It is very safe since it is directly across from one of the Royal family’s palaces which is guarded around the clock. Plus the Museum of Confluence, which houses the famous Dar El Bacha cafe, is just a few steps away. And there is even a luxurious hammam right next door to the riad. You don’t even need to leave the alley. Everything else is a 10-15 minute walk or short drive away. The riad staff can arrange drivers, guides, and answer any questions you may have. They were so helpful to us especially since it was our first time in Marrakesh. Thus, while we were initially drawn in by the riad’s beauty, it was the staff that made it an experience to remember.

My husband and I had a very warm and welcoming stay at the Riad. Their hospitality and expertise on the delivery of our entire experience was unmatched. The location is authentic and modern, leaving us feel like we were in an oasis. If we should ever find ourselves in Morocco again we will make a trip to Marrakech to stay at this Riad.

The riad was right on the edge of the medina great location to venture into the medina or out to see other things. The riad itself was a nice balance of traditional moroccan with a modern touch. The staff was fantastic! They were very helpful and friendly and gave excellent advice. The included breakfast was a very nice touch, and when I first checked in I was greeted with some tea and handmade pastries a very great experience and very fairly priced.

Riad Jaaneman is pure magic. Tucked away in the Medina, its location is unbeatable - just a short walk from the souks, yet blissfully peaceful once you step inside. The vibe is effortlessly elegant, with tranquil courtyards, beautiful design touches, and an atmosphere that feels both intimate and luxurious. The team is what truly sets this place apart: incredibly kind, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. You feel genuinely looked after from the moment you arrive. And the breakfast? Absolutely exceptional! fresh fruit, homemade pastries, Moroccan specialties… every morning feels like a small celebration. Riad Jaaneman isn’t just a place to stay - it’s a hidden paradise you’ll dream about long after you leave. Can’t wait to come back.
