I discovered Riad Jaaneman when it was featured in an Architectural Digest article as one of the most beautiful riads in Marrakesh. It turned out to be even more enchanting than the pictures could capture. From the courtyard with plunge pool, to the rooftop, the riad is exquisitely designed. We had our family photos done in the riad because the lighting and decor were so gorgeous.
We had the Negelibata suite on the second floor and the Leale suite on the first floor. Both were exceptionally luxurious and spacious with large bathrooms, plenty of closet space, and a comfortable seating area. In addition, the Leale suite came with its own private courtyard with a table, lush trees, and a 2-story waterfall that was so soothing to fall asleep to. The beds were very comfortable, and plush robes and slippers made us feel right at home. We also loved the fresh breakfast served every morning. They gave us freshly pressed juice (beet and apple or orange juice), cut up fruit, yogurt, cake (carrot, chocolate, or orange), eggs, and Moroccan pancakes served with butter, honey, and jam with coffee and mint tea. We loved the dinner so much on the first night that we canceled our restaurant reservation on the last night so we could eat at the riad again. We had the beef tagine with prunes and roasted almonds. It was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. Plus, all staff went above and beyond to make us feel like we were extended family rather than just hotel guests. I could feel that they very much wanted us to feel cared for and have everything be to our liking so we would enjoy our stay with them and in Marrakesh. And they absolutely succeeded. I was already figuring out when I could return before I even left.
To top it off, the location is central to many of the places you may want to see. It is very safe since it is directly across from one of the Royal family’s palaces which is guarded around the clock. Plus the Museum of Confluence, which houses the famous Dar El Bacha cafe, is just a few steps away. And there is even a luxurious hammam right next door to the riad. You don’t even need to leave the alley. Everything else is a 10-15 minute walk or short drive away.
The riad staff can arrange drivers, guides, and answer any questions you may have. They were so helpful to us especially since it was our first time in Marrakesh. Thus, while we were initially drawn in by the riad’s beauty, it was the staff that made it an experience to remember.
