Riad Jaaneman, Marrakech, Morocco - Explore & Book

"After a heady day getting lost in the medina, bartering in the souks and dodging snake charmers, you’ll almost certainly find yourself in need of an escape. And Riad Jaanamen is just the place. As you veer off down a dark alley and enter through a conspicuous side door, you could never imagine that what hides inside could be so beautiful, so peaceful, so zen.The riad is set around a courtyard with exotic plants that shoot up to the heavens. Birds swoop overhead, and there’s a dipping pool for cooling off in. It all feels very tropical. Next to the courtyard are 2 salons decorated with designer lamps, an enormous fireplace, a towering mirror and trinkets from around the world. Italian owner Leonardo Giangreco, who used to live here with his family, has style in his genes and clearly spent his time in Marrakech scouring the souks for treasures. His collections decorate the 5 resplendent rooms, which each have their own quirky design themes. When you tire of wandering the souks, hide away in your chamber with a Moroccan mint tea and a plate of sticky pastries, then head up to the roof to loll on the loungers with a cool beer in hand. Divine. Highs Unique, romantic suites with vintage furniture, modern art pieces and marble bathroomsThe oasis-like courtyard with palms, bamboo and climbing ivyDelicious breakfasts that include healthy smoothie shots and homemade yoghurt; traditional Morocco dinners are also available on requestImpeccable service from the staff; the vibe is relaxed and very friendlyBrilliant location in the heart of the medina, yet tucked away to block out all noise from outside Lows The pool isn’t really for swimming in, more for cooling off toesIt's a little quiet in the riad for dining in, but this might be a welcome break from the lively restaurants of the medinaBees were a bit of a nuisance at breakfast, but this is a seasonal issue and staff are working hard to sort the problemAlthough kids are welcome, the romantic atmosphere of the riad means it's not ideal for little ones" - Lucy Richardson

Riad Jaaneman (Marrakech, Morocco) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"It’s essential to the genre of the riad hotel that it maintain a residential feeling, but Jaaneman, more than most, is easy to imagine as a private home — it was in fact the home of the current owner, prior to its refashioning as a luxurious five-room boutique guest house. Its owner’s Italian heritage is evident in the house’s stylish, contemporary fixtures and furnishings, though of course the dominant aesthetic impression is pure, luxurious Moroccan seclusion." - Tablet Hotels

We had the best stay! Staff is really kind and made our brief holiday really special. Lahcen and Mouhamed were very very attentive, smiling and discreet. Lovely! Breakfast is rich and served in an informal yet personalized and elegant manner, with yogurt, fresh fruits, coffee, tea, fresh juices and eggs made especially for us. The rooms could be a little more looked after, but everything was so nice, it was fine! A presto!

Beautifully appointed quiet riad centrally located and on the edge of the chaos of the souks/ markets. |Breakfast around the central courtyard is simple but enjoyable. |Lessan the concierge is friendly and welcoming and has lots of great advice on the city which we took on-board, from negotiating at the souks to important places to visit. |Rooms are finished well and bed is extremely comfy.

We had such a lovely 4-night stay at Riad Jaaneman! Ishamael was incredibly attentive and super helpful with tips on how to navigate the busy streets of Marrakesh — honestly, his advice made a big difference. The riad itself is stunning — only five rooms, so it felt really calm and intimate, like a little oasis away from the hustle and bustle. Its very conveniently located where the souks and main square are all walking distance from the Riad. The decor is beautiful, and the two tortoises wandering around were such a sweet touch. We didn’t catch the chef’s name, but wow — she’s amazing. There are loads of restaurants in Marrakesh, but definitely make time to have dinner at the riad. Her Moroccan chicken pastilla was so tasty — one of the best meals we had on the trip! Also, having hammam spas right on your doorstep was a real bonus. Would absolutely recommend staying here if you’re looking for somewhere peaceful, stylish, and welcoming in the heart of the city.

The location is so convenient, with lovely shops and the Bacha next door. The riad gives you a sense of tranquility once you step in, and it’s clean and well decorated as well.||Our host Lahcen is tremendously hospitable and thoughtful, giving us really useful tips when walk and shop around the Medina, so is the manager!||It’s a five-star experience. Would love to try other rooms when back in town!

Loved our stay at this charming Riad. The service was fantastic from everyone we met. Location was excellent - really happy with this as the streets around it were some of our favourites. The rooftop is gorgeous and the whole space feels very peaceful. Room was great - everything we needed was provided & it was spotlessly clean. |A real gem

I feel bad not leaving a 5-star review because it’s an absolutely beautiful Riad in a great location. But a few things are missing - coffee/tea in the rooms, some kind of front desk, and locks for rooms (and names/numbers on them would be great). Take your own little padlock. Without a front desk, the service is a bit difficult. If you want coffee, breakfast, have questions, need to organize a cab, etc, you have to go searching for someone. But when you find someone, they’re really helpful! Leshun (sorry about spelling!!) was great, and gave us a good orientation about the city when we arrived, which was really helpful. A bit more of an intro to the Riad would be helpful too - there’s a tv lounge you can discover if you go exploring. I didn’t even realize there was a rooftop patio until I just checked the photos after leaving! There’s plunge pool in the middle of the courtyard - don’t be fooled, you can’t swim in it, and if you did, you’d definitely get funny looks!

My wife and I had a fantastic stay here, in this elegant, peaceful and well-managed riad in the wonderful Marrakech. The position is perfect: just within the inner-city walls, making access to the souks immediate, but also allowing for an easy exit of the medina, to get out to Gueliz and surrounding areas. Mohammed and the team looked after us with impeccable care and kindness.

The best place to stay In Marrakesh. Close to all that you’ll want to see. The best service we’ve ever received. Was an incredible experience, especially as there aren’t many rooms. It was quiet, peaceful and clean. There would always be someone pop out from a quiet corner when you needed something! We loved the tortoise company too!
