"Haj Mohamed has made his name both as one of Marrakech ’s top antique dealers and, for over three decades, one of its top tour guides, with clients ranging from U.S. presidents to celebrities like Nicole Kidman and Brad Pitt. Both of his passions come together at his 11-room hotel, which he crafted with teams of skilled artisans and furnished himself. Set in an 18th-century riad, it features a traditional central courtyard and pool as well as warm, intimate guestrooms, complete with rich textiles, carved wooden doors, and cushy, low-slung seating. The same welcoming aesthetic can be found in the hotel’s common spaces, which include a small plunge pool, various pillow-laden lounges, a rooftop terrace, and a courtyard where guests can enjoy live music. Riad Kniza is also known for its gourmet Moroccan restaurant, which features just nine tables and requires reservations at least one day in advance, as the chef purchases ingredients fresh from the markets each morning."

Had a lovely three-day stay at Riad Kniza with family. The location is ideal—situated near Bab Doukalla for easy arrivals and departures, yet only a scenic 15-minute walk through the vibrant souks to Jemaa el-Fnaa. The staff were exceptionally welcoming, courteous, and attentive to every detail. Each morning began with a sumptuous breakfast served personally at our table, and dinner was equally impressive; we enjoyed the best tagines we had in all of Marrakesh right here. We also took advantage of the small but wonderful hammam. A highlight was the personal touch from the owner, Mr. Bouskari, who treated us to a private visit to his museum and store. Highly recommended!

We enjoyed every moment of our stay. Located inside the Medina but cannot hear any noise | at all. Beautiful Riad, architecture, decorations and fixtures are so artistic. Rooftop breakfast is delicious and peaceful. Bed is very comfortable. Staff are welcoming. Thank you Mr. Mohammed ( the owner) for taking time out of your busy schedule to show us your museum collections. It was an unforgettable experience spending our time at Riad Kniza!

Great location a couple of minutes walk inside the medina walls from where we were dropped off. It’s an oasis in the craziness of Marrakesh. All the staff we met were really helpful, friendly and efficient. Our room was lovely, comfortable with good air conditioning We had a sofa bed downstairs and a large bed upstairs with an en suite. Breakfast was a traditional affair and massive and very beautifully laid out. We had it on the roof terrace which was lovely. Don’t miss out on their art gallery which the owner opened us for is specially. Would definitely stay here again in Marrakesh

My husband and I stayed at this beautiful Riad, and highly recommend it. It’s located in an easy to find area of the Medina, we were old pros at navigating by the end of our trip. It is a bit of a hike to the more popular areas so something to be aware of. It can also be noisy at night due to the busy street and traditional locks on the doors so we found a noisemaker to be helpful for sleeping. ||We were exceptionally well cared for by the staff and can’t say enough good things about them. If we needed anything, it was taken care of immediately. This includes everything from having a beautiful breakfast brought to our room each morning, bringing us traditional tea in the garden, providing a laundry service that picked up our clothes from our room and delivered them back perfectly folded the same day, and arranging for a lovely hammam and massage on short notice. ||The room was lovely, spacious, clean, and very comfortable. We also loved enjoying the beautiful common areas like the pool and garden during our stay. ||Overall I felt this was a very good value and it felt luxurious and private.

I cannot recommend Riad Kniza highly enough. The Riad itself is a work of art, furnished richly in the Moroccan style. The rooms are sufficiently spacious, and each is unique. We found the beds incredibly comfortable. (Some friends thought the mattress and pillows were too firm; we disagreed.) The location in the Medina was great: We were able to walk to most of the sites, from the Yves St. Laurent museum at one end to La Momounia across town (and of course the Medina itself).||But the thing that really elevated Kniza was the staff and service. Morning coffee, delivered hot to the room, complimentary. Breakfast is a mix of Moroccan and Western specialties - you'll certainly find something to your taste. And everything came with a smile.||Those smiles! We spent five nights here, left for a few days in Fez, then returned to Riad Kniza for one night before our flight home. When we arrived for our second visit, the woman at reception opened the door, and when she realized it was us she broke out in a broad smile - "Welcome back!" We were greeted this way by almost every member of the gracious staff, as if we were family.||My partner likes to tease me because I can *always* find the flaw in any hotel where we stay. In the case of Riad Kniza, the worst thing I could find was that I had to use toilet paper to blow my nose because there weren't tissues in the room (and I'm sure they would have found me some if I had asked). In other words: This place is close to perfect.||There are surely more "upscale" places to stay in Marrakech, but for my money, you're unlikely to beat Riad Kniza.

This really is a lovely property, fabulously ornate Moroccan design and associated geometry, fabrics, tiling, antique furniture, etc. All within the walls of the medina but close to one of the gates where you can get taxis/meet drivers when venturing outside to the new city and surrounds. The main part of the souk is about a 10min walk, the main square a little further. Didn’t have dinner in the Riad itself but did across at the Terrasse Des Arts opposite, where the food was excellent and the rooftop terrace a lovely setting. Breakfast in the Riad (continental moroccan) was tasty and plentiful and you can opt to have in the ornate dining room, your room, or on the roof terrace. It’s the same each morning - so if you were staying a few days you may want to go out for breakfast once or twice for something different. It’s an historic Riad dating from the 1700’s (even had to use a padlock to lock the traditional cedarwood double door of my ground floor room) so of course don’t expect the high tech/spec of a modern 5* hotel, But do stay here to stylishly elevate your authentic Moroccan experience.

This place was absolutely amazing! My wife and I stayed there at the beginning and end of our Moroccan tour and it was far and away the most beautiful and accomodating place we stayed! The Riad is breathtaking as soon as you walk in the door and the staff / accomodations are fanastic. The place was spotless, the rooms were beautiful and spacious, and just a short walk to the souks! Highly recommend taking your breakfast on the rooftop - wonderful way to start your day!

This beautiful, peaceful riad was the highlight stay of our trip. With so many places to sit quietly by a fountain or pool or up on the expansive roof terrace, it was relaxing and calm. The rooms were lovely (we stayed twice), and the service was very friendly and immaculate; we felt like all we had to do was think "tea" or "coffee" and a tray would appear with hot drinks and Moroccan cookies. We also had lovely breakfasts on the roof, and delicious soup and tagine on our last night with a nice glass of Moroccan wine. Not only that, but we were right in the medina, minutes from souks and restaurants (Terrasse Des Arts is literaly next door). Our thanks to all the staff and to Travel Exploration Morocco for booking!
