Riad L'Orangeraie, Marrakech, Morocco - Explore & Book

"At first, it was a love of golf that made brothers Laurent and Cyril Bernard occasional visitors to Marrakech, but it wasn’t long before a love of Moroccan style made them permanent fixtures. So, fortified with a family inheritance plus a sense of sophistication only hip young Frenchmen seem to possess, the Bernard brothers bought a neglected riad from Marrakech’s influential Tigani family and transformed it into the elegant Riad L’Orangeraie. Situated in the Mouassine district of the old Medina, a five-minute stroll from the vibrant Djemaa El Fna, the words ‘prime location’ and L’Orangeraie are inseparable. But it’s not just a pretty face in the right place. Inside, this harmonious seven-room townhouse wraps itself gracefully around two expansive patios - one with fountains and aromatic flowers, the other with a mosaic swimming pool and steamy hammam. And, literally topping it off, a dazzling roof terrace with views to the Atlas Mountains. Romantic bliss. Highs Location, location, location - you can’t beat the L’Orangeraie’s positionPerfect for nipping back to download your parcels and for a post-shop swimCars can stop at the front door, a real rarity in the old medinaThe bedrooms are lovely and the food is incredibleVery friendly and helpful service from Cyril and his team Lows It gets booked up quicklyDinner is only available on request (you need to alert staff you're eating in over breakfast)As with all of Marrakech, light sleepers may need to bring ear plugs, but we slept like babiesNote that credit card payments incur a 4% surcharge" - Glenda Richards

Riad l'Orangeraie was one of my favorite places that I have ever stayed. The Riad itself is beautiful with traditional Moroccan architecture but updated to look elegant and to maximize comfort and convenience for the guest. We had a meal cooked by Nadia on the first evening and it turned out to be the best meal we had in the entire trip. The staff was so kind and friendly and really provided the best service to their guests. Each person, including the owner went above and beyond expectations and provided incredible service and made our entire stay very memorable and wonderful. I cannot recommend l'Orangeraie enough!

My wife and I stayed at Riad L’Orangeraie for 3 nights. This was our first (but hopefully not last) trip to Morocco. Our stay was perfect and the hospitality of Aziz and the staff was spectacular. Booking was easy, and Cyril was able to answer all questions and was very responsive. The Riad arranged for pickup from the Marrakech train station, very easy. Aziz gave us a good map of the Medina, including some excellent restaurant recommendations. The Riad also arranged for a guide to take us on a half day walking tour that included the tombs, the palace, and other spots outside the Medina. As other reviewers have said, the location of the Riad is great, a short walk from the main square, on a quiet street. It was very quiet at night. Two other highlights were the food, served on the rooftop terrace, and the plunge pool, which refreshed us twice a day in the summer heat. We would 100% stay here again.

We had a relaxing 4 days in Marrakesh, to explore predominantly the Medina (the old part) of the city. We stayed at the Riad l'Orangeraie and the staff, food and accommodation were perfect. The breakfasts were filling and had different fruits cakes, breads and yoghurts each day. The staff were very helpful and the roof was the perfect place to relax at night. Overall a lovely stay, and I think 2-4 days is the perfect amount of time to see Marrakesh, unless you're planning on going out of the city.

Riad L’orangeraie turned out to be a truly exceptional choice for our four day break in Marrakech. |From the moment we arrived and were warmly welcomed and given tea and tips on where to go and what to do by Aziz the manager, to the daily greetings and catch ups with all members of the team it was all so impressive.|The Riad has a great location is wonderfully styled (the soaps are amazing!) and the breakfast with the legendary yoghurt is to die for. |The day trip to the Atlas mountains with Jamal was great he has vast knowledge on many topics including British politics! |But truly it is the staff that make it, never have I left a hotel feeling like I had made friends. Cyril and Aziz have created something special here. |Run don’t walk!

The experience at this well-located riad began with communication with Cyril, one of the owners, who was responsive and informative. The stay included arrangements for various reservations, including a hammam spa day. Upon arriving at the riad, we were greeted by Joel, who arranged our luggage pickup and escorted us to the riad, and made our other arrangements. Aziz and the rest of the staff were equally awesome, enhancing our overall experience during our first visit to Morocco. The interior décor and paintings are notable features. I loved having breakfast on the roof top terrace. I highly recommend this riad and will definitely visit again.

Riad L’Orangeraie is firmly within my small circle of favorite places in the world to stay. From the beginning, owner Cyril made himself available for questions, suggestions, etc. and always responded almost instantly to any outreach by WhatsApp.||The Riad arranged travel from the airport, and Aziz greeted us with mint tea, cookies and a comprehensive and humorous overview of the Medina. Our delicious rooftop meal after arrival was the very best of our whole trip, and breakfasts (with fruit, pancakes, pastries, homemade yoghurt and robust coffee) were glorious. ||The Riad is decorated with exquisite taste, and all the accoutrements are maintained impeccably. It really is a gorgeous and peaceful escape.||What really set Riad L’Orangeraie apart, however, was the warmth and care of the people. We all felt like we were in the home of a generous friend rather than at a commercial establishment. Special kudos to Aziz, the wonderful chef lady and the charming night manager (Meled?) who greeted my wife with a hug.||For sure, Riad L’Orangeraie will be our headquarters for future visits to Marrakech and is worthy of a return visit even if we never left its walls.||Bravo!

This Riad is beautiful and staff very friendly and helpful with tips on where to go and to eat. It's centrally located inside one of the old city gates and short walks to most of the attractions. Breakfast on the rooftop each morning was nice and rooms serviced each day. They even had a cute turtle that came to say hello. We would certainly stay there again.

We found this riad in a travel book, and it's one of the best recommendations we've ever followed. The riad is stunning. Every detail is gorgeous. Despite being in the heart of the medina, it's very peaceful and quiet inside. And the staff was incredible. They took time to chat with us when we checked in and gave us a map to help us orient ourselves in the medina. The location is also perfect. Jemaa el-Fna and Le Jardin Secret were especially close, but nothing felt far away. Cannot recommend Riad l'Orangeraie enough.
