Beautiful Riad, amazing food, friendly and welcoming staff all around. One of my favorite elements was being able to stay in an historic Riad with a rich history and having an authentic Moroccan experience.

Amazing stay, thank you all so much. You made us feel instantly welcome and explained all about your family history here at the riad. The gardens were pristine and helped us to instantly relax with the sound of the fountain just adding to the ambience. You went out of your way to show us where you grew the vegetables for the dinner that we all ate, which was so fresh and tasty. the service was exceptional. Even having a fire lit after dinner, so we could relax in comfort. Thank you, it was just what we wanted after the hectic days of Marrakesh. If you want some peace, quiet, amazing food and fabulous service you’ll find it here.

This place is a wonderfully restored Riad that has been in the owner's family for generations. The gardens are large and there are several roof terraces which allow you to look out over the surrounding desert land and into the distance, the Atlas Mountains. There are spectacular fortress-type constructions on either side of it which adds to the sense of history. We had one night there and used it as a springboard to visit the mountains the next day, but it was a memorable afternoon and evening, relaxing in the beautiful gardens which are full of citrus tress, and having a really good dinner in the small restaurant with log-fires at either end of the room.

We stayed 2 nights in this peaceful magical place! The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated, and quiet. A perfect break from Marrakech, less than an hour’s drive away. We fell for their sweet orange cat, there were maybe 4 cats we saw, 2 domesticated and one a bit wild. The meals were plentiful, in a lovely dining room with a fireplace. The history of the place is fascinating and as I understand it, the Riad is still in the family. Read about it, it’s why my husband chose it. But the true magic for me was meeting Karin (German pronunciation ka-RIN) who lives there (I believe she is one of the co-owners). I decided to treat myself to a massage, and called ahead of our initial arrival. and was told in rapid French that Karin offered shiatsu, I think I might have heard the word ‘energy work’ in there (my college French classes are long ago). Well, as soon as I walked in her studio I felt it. I have received, performed and taught various Massage and other alternative healing disciplines and probably had at least 50 people work on me over the years of various talents and temperaments and I have had the good fortune to work with 4 truly ‘shiny’ healers. Karin is one of them.

Fantastic family run Riad, beautiful, calm and the staff were outstanding, so friendly and hospitable, amazing food, they catered very well with 3 out of 4 of us being vegetarians. Such a welcome relaxing break from Marrakech and we definitely recharged our batteries, highly recommended and worth the short trip (30 mins) out of town and into the middle of the real Marrakech. We also got a tour round and saw the vegetable garden and met the donkeys, horses, dogs and cats. Such an oasis of calm in the middle of the desert with a lovely garden and pool, we will return.

e stayed just a single night before flying off the next morning. ||We arrive quite late in the evening and regardless are greeted by a group of men who await us with pot of delicious tee right in the Riads stunning garden area. ||After unpacking, one of the owners, Ahmed Soughani shows us around the property and invites us for a glass of wine. He tells us the family tail of the property and we are simply blown away. You literally feel like a an ancient Berber tribe leader being invited to an important political debate on the estate in 1890.||The next morning we wake up fairly early. It is still dark. Breakfast is already served in the stunning dining area with fresh juice and fragrantly fresh bread variations, served with Argan oil, home made jams and more - the staff is already up, chatting to me in fluent German (my mother tongue) as well as in French, helping me to get back into it again.||Shortly after, we are being assisted back to the front gate where a taxi is already awaiting us. Short but sweet! ||What a place- must visit when in the area!

This Riad is a real piece of heaven on earth. I could never imagine the presence of such a quiet, overwhelming and peacefull place like this one in Marrakech.||Seen from the outside, nothing look so special but once inside the real charm operates with their sympathetic and smiling personnel, tasty food and the chirping of the birds all over the place.|The rooms are big and well furnished, the King sized bed was comfortable, we've appreciated the welcome plate of cookies, fruits and typical Moroccan tea waiting for us in the room.|I recommend this Riad to everyone and I'm planning to visit it again during my next journey in Marrakech.||

All I can say is WOW..... From the moment of my husband and I's arrival we were treated like royal family. Our room was very clean and extremely spacious. We were given a tray of dried fruits and nuts and mint tea and gorgeous biscuits on arrival.||The grounds are magnificent, cleaned twice daily. The pool area clean, but beware even in 35 degrees sun the water is freezing (some called it refreshing). ||I speak fluent French so it was not a problem for me, 95% of guests are French but the staff will try and speak to you in English (my husband is English speaking only).||As we were vegetarian they went out of their way to cater for us, be prepared the meal portions are huge. Actually whilst in Marrakech for 9 days we never ate lunch, breakfast was filling and we had our evening meal. The food at Riad Sougtani is some of the best we had eaten whilst in Marrakech, they really do go out of their way and price per person is well worth it (dinner is starter, main and dessert and a bottle of water. (Fruit juices/soft drinks and wines/alcohol is an extra but cheap). Breakfast was plentiful various breads, spreads, yogurt, fruit, cheese, cakes, coffee or tea and fresh orange juice. We had lunch on our last day and that was so tasty too. We asked for something light and were made a lovely salad, bread and a dessert with water.||The staff here are amazing, they will go out of there way to cater for you. Large bottles of water on a daily basis are given to you as part of your price, your fridge in your room is replenished with 2 cans of soft drinks and a bottle of water.||The hot water is plenty but be prepared to let the water run 15mins before using for the water to get hot.||They will arrange trips for you and taxis if you wish as well a free daily shuttle service to central Marrakech. ||This is a family owned riad and they truly make your feel at home.||The only thing my hubby didn't like was the cats and kittens, 8 if them on the grounds that will constantly beg you for food at meal times. But if you don't encourage it and shew then away it's fine.||I would say this is perfect getaway for a couple, we went to celebrate hubby's 50th birthday. The grounds are immaculate and so are the rooms. There are cats/kittens and tortoises, many fruit trees, fresh lemons and limes picked for your drinks. Perfect paradise.
