Riad Tchaikana

We had a wonderful stay at Riad Tchaikana. The moment we stepped inside, it felt like a calm retreat from the whirlwind of activity in the Medina. The decor is beautifully minimalist and very intentional, creating a sense of space and quiet that feels almost meditative. What made the stay special was the team that runs the riad. They are genuinely committed to making every guest feel cared for. They helped us navigate the neighborhood, offered suggestions, and made sure we had everything we needed at all times. The rooms were spotless and comfortable, and breakfast in the courtyard each morning was such a treat. I would recommend Riad Tchaikana to anyone looking for a peaceful, beautifully designed place to stay, with a team that makes you feel right at home. It is an excellent value. Splurge on the bigger rooms, definitely worth it.

We had a wonderful stay at Riad Tchaikana. Khadija, Naoual, and their team were exceptional hosts who made us feel completely at home. Lovely breakfasts with different types of fresh breads each morning. Naoual even guided us through the medina on our first evening to help us get oriented.|Khadija runs an excellent riad – clean, quiet, and a perfect sanctuary in the heart of the medina. She took time to explain how everything works and showed us the best routes to restaurants and cafes on the first day. The team helped with everything: taxis, booking our bus to Essaouira, laundry, and unlimited mint tea.|The location is perfect – a short walk to Jemaa el-Fnaa and all major attractions. Don't miss dinner at the riad (ask in the morning). This was our best stay of the entire trip. Highly recommended, and we'll definitely return.

We had an amazing time at Riad Tchaikana, it’s a beautiful calm oasis right in the middle of the Medina. The ladies working here make sure that you have a great experience, going out of their ways to ensure you have everything you need. The rooms are impeccable, clean and cool. The breakfast was delicious & well served. I would highly recommend and hope we can be back!

Could be great, but lots of small issues. While the vibes and breakfast were great and the area was very quiet, I was disappointed that there was no rooftop furniture as pictured so you couldn't use the rooftop. The water fountain in the center of the riad was dry and empty. I sat on my bed the first night and the frame of the bed broke. The hot water in the shower ran out each day. The location was exceptionally hard to find as well.

The hotel was very calm and relaxing, and the garden was beautiful and well kept. The room was big and perfect for a family of two adults and two children. The beds were very comfortable and we slept really well.||The staff were amazing and very kind. I felt very comfortable and happy with the way they treated us. The women working in the kitchen and recensioner were especially helpful and always asked if we needed anything, which made us feel very well taken care of during our stay.||I really recommend this hotel and I look forward to coming back!

The service and hygiene was very good. Khadija and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very well prepared and also the dinner. The 1st evening Bouchra walked with us to Djemaa el fna. Hamam and the massage in the riad was wonderful and relaxing. I recommend this riad to everyone! Greetings from Jouhara

Lovely riad in the middle of the old Medina. We went ahead and booked airport transfers with the riad, and so glad that we did. There is no way we could have figured it out. Vehicles are not allowed inside of the Medina, so we were driven to the border, where we met up with a porter who took us, and our luggage the rest of the way to the riad. The riad has been well-maintained and nicely decorated. Every room was a gem. The riad staff was amazing. We had early morning departures for some of our excursions and they arranged a very early breakfast for us. Breakfast usually consisted of yogurt, pastry, juice, coffee, olives, and condiments. (Not a lot of protein, so if you need that in the morning, be sure to pack some protein bars.) The riad is about a 15 minute walk from the main square, and a 30 minute walk from the palace. The rooms don’t have traditional locks, and being American, we never leave our doors unlocked :) I if I remember correctly, there was a safe in the bathroom, but some things are too large for the safe. We just locked them in our suitcases, but the property feels very safe and secure. So it ended up being no issue.

On arriving at the Riad you enter a beautiful courtyard, which is cool and peaceful, even silent except for the sound of birds - a stark contrast from the hustle and bustle and heat of the Medina just metres away! After the warmest of welcomes from the wonderful Khadija and Bouchra who manage the Riad, you very quickly relax in the elegant courtyard with a traditional mint tea served with traditional biscuits. One very quickly feels at home, and settles into the rhythm and atmosphere of traditional Morocco. The Riad is very conveniently situated in the Medina, so you can easily walk to all the major sites to see In the city, and do your shopping in the souks. If you want to do any special tours Khadija and Bouchra take special care that everything is organised perfectly, escorting you to your pick ups and meeting you on the way back. Exceptional service. You should not leave the Riad without trying the dinner prepared by the staff. One of the best restaurant experiences served in the courtyard with traditional dishes prepared just for you. Definitely an exclusive address, but at a reasonable rate.
