"Specializing in independent film, this historic 1920s art deco theater in De Pijp has three screens, showing movies in their original version with Dutch subtitles. But what if you’re hankering to see the latest French art-house flick and don’t read Dutch? On Expat Mondays, every non-English film is screened in its original version with English subtitles. Arrive early and grab a snack and a drink at the laid-back, ground-level café. Rialto also hosts a number of important film festivals throughout the year, including World Cinema Amsterdam , showcasing indie cinema from Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean."
We watched an impressive impactful movie here as part of the World Cinema Amsterdam movie event: Seven Winters in Tehran. It's great to have film theaters like Rialto that give room for purpose- driven non commercial stories that give food for thought and conversation afterwards. The theater looks authentic old as and cosy. The rooms are medium size. Nothing too fancy. But our movie made sure you don't need or miss any of that.

Really nice and cozy place. They show a big diversity of movies, english subs included. The cafe downstairs is run by some really lovely people, and the prices for the warm drinks are awesome! (Love that they ask if you want cookies with your tea or not✨️)
They have an upstairs extension of the cafe, where you can study with lots of natural light as the windows are imense.
Overall, an amazing place☀️
Been coming here regularly and I always feel welcome🌻

We went to Rialto for the World Cinema Amsterdam movie event 🎥. Cool building in a nice neighbourhood with lots of atmosphere. There are also some restaurants and cafes close by. Parking is a bit troublesome and expensive, better to go with public transportation.

I absolutely love it here. I also love that they have movies mostly on the niche side, but some popular movies with that kind of vibe would also be great. I am not complaining at all though because I just love it here.

A lovely cinéma de quartier with a great mix of art house films and bigger productions. The cozy coffee/bar is perfect for a drink or board games. Arrive early for popular films—the rooms are small, and seats aren’t reserved. A charming and authentic cinema experience!

It’s a beautiful cinema and the staff is always very nice:) but i will say that officially every monday the subtitles for the projections are in english and this is not always the case, especially if the films are in multiple languages including english. it’s good to always make sure on the website that the subtitles will be in english

Yelp
Rialto is one of my favourite cinemas. This old place is so very charming. And they make me feel bad about my Pathe Unlimited Card! Because I don't go to our most lovable cinemas that often because of it.
Sometimes I like to watch a movie in Rialto even if Pathe is also showing it. Just for the charm of the old beautiful cinema and to support them. They also have a nice café.
I like Rialto very much. They show very nice movies. All arty, cultural, film festival movies (never blockbusters). This is a classy place. If you have never been here you should certainly go! Tickets are around 10 euros and you should pick them up 30 minutes before the movie starts.

Yelp
Rialto is a local favourite for art house movies.
There is a bar downstair where you can sit down and have a drink. On friday and saturday evening, there are meals available that complement one of the movies running at the cinema. No reservation for eating possible...so arrive in time for the for food.
If you are alone, you won't feel uncomfortable going to this place. It is in a relatively safe neighbourhood and the audience is pretty relaxed.

Yelp
Small arthouse cinema on the beautiful Ceintuurbaan. Lovely facade, friendly staff, small cafe inside. The screens are fine. Rialto is part of the Cineville-association. The place doesn't do it for me personally (it lacks atmosphere compared to Kriterion or the Movies) but the place is good. May it be around for a long long time.
