The food here is on point each time that I have visited here. I’ve tried a couple of different items on their menu and I have yet to be disappointed. The portions you get are very generous to say the least. The hamburger is what a hamburger should be… eaten with two hands and juicy! You know you’re getting a good deal when the potatoe is as big as the burger! The broiled chicken is juicy and comes right off the bone. Ribs here are at times slightly bigger than the plate they’re served on. One of the things that compliments the food is the service. It’s hard to find a place to get both during the same visit. Just keep in mind when you visit that if it’s during the busy hours they might take a little bit longer but nothing to discourage you from visiting. Jessica at the bar gives great service as does the rest of the staff! Hope this review helps!

Super easy online ordering. Staff was extremely welcoming and nice when we picked up our food. And the BBQ was delicious. We were just driving through town but would definitely stop here again the next time in El Paso.

Good place for Ribs, watching a game, getting together with friends and having a nice cold beer. Ribs are good, however the nachos were spectacular.

Recently been to this place, and inside it was not as dirty as the other customers have described. Ordered half slab of baby back ribs, the ribs are rubbed with honey BBQ sauce and the crust came out nicely. It can be too sweet for someone who likes their ribs dry. Bites size appetizer of brisket, beef rib, and sausage is okay. The brisket is too lean and dry. They all need some sauce! I'd recommend against getting this dish and instead get yourself items from the combo menu. Lastly, we ordered a single beef rib at 7.99, which is fairly priced. It's not like what we had in Dallas but still better than the rib bites in the appetizer. Their curly fries and coleslaw are both decent. I highly recommend trying their hot sauces - they have a kick! Overall, it's a good place if you crave for bbq when in El Paso. However, it's not comparable to the BBQ in cities like DFW or Austin.

$ Food was great! Flavors were there. Ribs were cooked to perfect. Fries were super crispy & seasoned well. Coleslaw was great & had pieces of pineapple, yum. Everything was great until I went to wash my hands in the bathroom... Dundundun.... Ewe. It was early in the day to not have hand soap and the toilet & sink were nasty too. Maybe wipe the mirror it might help a little bit. For the one restroom in the place makes you wonder if the employees wash their hands. 🤢 Hopefully the kitchen is cleaned at night cause the restrooms aren't. Eek

Food is really good all the time, but the service was horrible. The people that used to be our waiters are all gone. It's a new crew and they need more people skills. One of the waitress she wasn't even our waitress, she just took my food without even asking me if I was done eating. So I told her to bring it back. Then she kept mad dogging me the rest of the time. Not a good experience. But the food is great.

Google
When in Texas you have to eat some bbq. Overall we had a decent experience dining here. The building however is so small it makes large parties a pain even if you call ahead of time. Also there is barely any room to wait to be seated inside the restaurant. It is a very cramped space. The food was good I wish they had baby back ribs and different bbq sauce options like other bbq restaurants, but we can’t have it all. I ordered 2 beef, 2 spare , toreado Mac, brisket and fries. The ribs were good, very large portions. The torreado Mac was advertised as spicy, but not spicy in the slightest. I didn’t get a chance to try the French fries because they never came, but our server David accommodated me for it. My issue really came when it was time to pay, our server was all over the place. He brought out the checks then disappeared to help another table. Then after a few minutes of everyone gathering their payments he returned and started to process payments. He did 1 person out of 7 then left again to help other tables. Came back after a few minutes processed another 2 payments, then left again and continually repeating this process. Helping 1 or 2 of us at a time then leaving for 5-10 minutes. So just to pay to well over 30 minutes. I get it’s busy but take care of the customers trying to pay and leave before you help everyone else. Get the new table some drinks, then get our bills taken care of then do the rest. Very inconvenient to make a party who already ate wait 30 minutes just for checkout process. If you are that busy ask a manager or someone in the back for help just taking care of the tabs. I’ve had better bbq, but it was still good and still worth a try if you are in the area. Try the big baked potatoes it is a whole meal by itself. Be prepared to EAT cause they give you nice sized portions for the price you pay.

Google
I loved the **slow smoked ribs** and the **Rib Hut sauce** at Rib Hut. They were tender, juicy, and flavorful. The **sausage platter** and the **1/2 slab baby back ribs** were also great choices for a hearty meal. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was cozy. I would recommend Rib Hut to anyone who loves barbecue and wants to try some authentic Texas style meat. I give it **4 stars** out of 5 for ribs and meat. Kid friendly.

Yelp
Rib Hut in El Paso is the kind of place that makes you question what you've been doing with your life if you've never had their beef ribs. These aren't just ribs--they're an institution. Thick, tender, and lacquered with a barbecue sauce that could inspire sonnets, they might just be the best beef ribs in America. Yes, I said it, and I'll say it again. The best. The side dishes don't play second fiddle either. Their mac 'n cheese is rich and indulgent, and the fried mushrooms? An unexpected delight that adds a perfectly crunchy contrast to the smoky goodness of the ribs. The Saturday brisket burritos are another must-try--soft, flavorful, and so good they'll leave you questioning why you don't visit more often. Housed in the historic Village Inn Pizza A-Frame chalet, the setting adds a layer of nostalgia to the meal. There's something charmingly old-school about it, a reminder of when places like this were the heart of the community. But fair warning--Rib Hut gets busy, especially during peak hours, so plan accordingly. If you leave El Paso without trying this BBQ institution, well, you've done something wrong.

Yelp
I've been here a couple times and I love the interior ambiance. It's definitely has a lot of character. The curtains are unique. Service both times has been excellent. I highly recommend the baby back ribs! It's the best thing I've tried both times. The spare ribs are pretty good. I've had the beef rib once and I don't think I'll order it again. I feel it needed more time in the smoker. It wasn't tender and quite chewy. Fried okra was delicious but may be prefab frozen but I don't mind. I forgot to take a picture of the peach cobbler. It was delicious with a beer float. I definitely reccomend a visit! I wouldn't drive a full size truck though. Parking is pretty tight.

Jonathan B.

Yelp
The steak burger was not so good. The sides, the Mac and cheese was bland no flavor also the baked potato was also bland.

Michele S.

Yelp
This is the MOST DISGUSTING PLACE we have "tried" to eat in El Paso! whoever thinks this place has edible food ... I feel sorry for you! It was inedible and GROSS! Never again would we go back to this shithole!

Yelp
Driving through El Paso on a roadtrip and stumbled on this cute place. One of the few bbq places that are open past 3pm around downtown. Beware finding parking here is really hard as there are only about 20 spots, don't park at the Thai Tara spots. It has a cute homey unique vibe to place, sports playing on multiple TVs, and the servers were all super nice. Got the following dishes: 1)full brisket platter - about 1lbs of brisket, nice amount for the price ~$20, juicy, flavor was crisp but could use some salt 2) spare ribs- probably my favorite dish, could use more seasoning to it but had good amount of meat 3) beef ribs- my least favorite dish, it had a very strong charcoaled flavored, the big bone itself is deceiving with little meet on it With a couple beers all came to around $58 which was a better bang for its buck than we had at a different BBQ place in town

Dan L.

Yelp
What a lucky find. Old school daisy duke's for curtains, rolls of paper towels, and the best darn bbq I've had in a long time. The waiters and staff were really friendly and Angel was polite and made sure we were taken care of. The bbq was great but I loved the potato salad.

Jay T.

Yelp
So I haven't been to the original in a while, I live east now so I frequent the east side location. But today I was on central so I went to the west side so I stopped in about 2:30pm on a not so hot Saturday afternoon. The sweet tea was on point and perfect. I also ordered a combo fried basket of Onion Rings, Okra, Mushrooms and zucchini with Ranch. It came out surprisingly fast and was super hot and all items were fresh and delicious. Bomb onion rings! I ordered the small combo with spare ribs and 1/4 chicken white meat. With Coleslaw and Mac and cheese. The Mac many would probably say was just pedestrian, curly tube noodles and creamy cheese. BUT I LOVE IT LIKE THAT. I'm not a fan of baked Mac. It's so dry and in appealing, this I savored each creamy forkful. It cost an extra .99 cents but with it because I can't eat another potato ANYTHING, I swear... why can places get better sides than potatoes of some sort??? But then, I digress. This was amazing Mac. I also liked the Coleslaw. There's is chopped, not shredded. And just a few flecks of carrot or red can ice throughout. And about every 4-5th forkful, a piece of pineapple chunk. This wasn't sweet, kinda savory with a hint of sweetness. Not tangy either. But coarse ground black pepper, which I also do when I make slaw. And very moist. Not Dry. Still has a puddle in the bottom of my bowl when finished. I like my slaw like that. The meat this trip however, fell a little short. My chicken was very dry. And lost if the skin had no browning or seasoning on it SSI if having been smoked. Maybe another chicken was lying on my chickens it didn't get exposed to the smoke or something ? But it had no smoke flavor, flabby skin. And was very dry. I was dipping every bite into the bbq sauce. When I've had the chicken in the past, it's always been a nice Smokey flavor and a nice brown skin from the smoker. So something went amiss on this batch. Also my ribs. The tips were burnt. Like black. And the meat tough there. Near the bone it was still tender, and it was mostly tender but the top layer was just like it had been put on a flat top and left for a bit and got over heated? And seemed to be missing the honey glaze. My plates normally got a little puddle from the ribs dripping, these were dry. I still highly recommend Rib Hut. Anyone can have a bad day. And the Sides and appetizer were all perfect and wait staff was super attentive. It's still the same 'ol' Place with the hot pants Curtains on the windows. Full of UTEP nostalgia. and beside and get the sweet tea!

Yelp
In town for business and stopped here for a quick dinner. I liked the ambiance of the restaurant and our service was also good. Unfortunately, the food was lackluster. I ordered the sampler platter and, while the meat was flavorful, it was tough, full of gristle, and very difficult to enjoy. I had potato salad and the vegetable of the day (green beans) for my sides, both were severely lacking in seasoning and had no flavor at all. The place seems to be popular so maybe they just had an off day, I'd give them another chance based on the other reviews that led us here to begin with. I will say the portion sizes for the price was a great value, especially for the brisket which my colleague seemed to enjoy and had a ton leftover.

Cody V.

Yelp
David was our server Me and my colleagues came from AZ, wanted some authentic bbq and we were not disappointed! Healthy sized portions for the price, everything came out hot and fast. Homey feel to the restaurant, if I ever find myself in El Paso again, you better believe I'll be back

Tracy L.

Yelp
While waiting for it to be time to go to the El Paso Airport, being in Texas, my friend and I knew we had to have some BBQ, and found Rib Hut. The inside was very casual and small, but in the good way, and what you'd think of being in a BBQ restaurant. I was a bit disappointed with the food. I ordered the Combo Platter, which came with sausage, turkey, and I chose brisket as my meat add on. My two sides were fries and ranch beans. For the sides, I enjoyed my fries. Nothing special, but they were good. I wish the beans were baked beans versus ranch beans as they didn't have much as much flavor as I had hoped. For the platter, the brisket was my favorite dipped into the BBQ sauce. Without the sauce, the brisket was on the bland side. The turkey was the best seasoned and juicy. Some sausage pieces were good, but other pieces were too charred for my liking.

Jody K.

Yelp
Recently ate the finest and leanest brisket !! Beans and cole slaw also and everything delicious

Gloria M.

Yelp
Ambiance is so old, light fixtures have layers of dust on them. More than half are broken. The bathroom is beyond words. Should be condemned. The whole building needs a total remodeling job.

Justin G.

Yelp
You get a rib! You get a rib! You get a rib! So it should be noted that i subscribe to the theory that if in fact God took Adam's rib, then we owe it to Adam to eat ribs until we either grow our missing rib back or we just assimilate them one piece at a time. Even if neither comes to pass, im going to keep eating these ribs. Been coming here for over a decade. Best beef ribs and spare ribs Texas has to offer! Potato salad is amazing and don't skip on their green chili bacon mac and cheese! See you again rib hut, as soon as my stomach line recovers!

Joy S.

Yelp
We stayed overnight in El Paso on our way back to California from Texas and our hotel recommended the Rib Hut. We ordered to go but I wish we could have eaten in the restaurant. Wonderful staff and very diverse patrons! We tried the brisket, beef ribs, smoked turkey, sausages, beans, the Mac & cheese and coleslaw. All was very tasty and we loved their BBQ sauce! We would recommend eating here if you're looking for tasty BBQ for an excellent price!

Brian T.

Yelp
Food is just ok.Resturant is old and dirty. The service was really bad and server acted like he was doing us a favor.Dude had attitude for sure. When we left my wife said we will never go back!!

Olga G.

Yelp
Ribs tasted pretty darn good however, the restaurant is very dirty, floors look like they have never ever been swept or moped. Restroom was very disgusting. Reasturants needs a good cleaning to make it a more pleasant place to eat. It would simply take minutes to sweep and mop the small restaurant. Although the ribs were tasty the dirtiness may didter me from not going again. It is simply gross.

Vanessa A.

Yelp
Jacquelyn was my server and she was absolutely incredible! She answered all my questions about the menu and made sure I was doing okay through out my meal. The food was delicious and exactly what I was craving. Thank you to the other gentleman who also took time giving me activity recommendations in El Paso.

Lorelei P.

Yelp
This was our first time here. We were in town and found this place on Yelp. It wasn't that far from our hotel, so we decided to give it a try. Just so you know, this place has 2 private lots and the parking is very tight. One of the lots, they share with another restaurant that is right next door. And there is no outlet. So you have to have good driving skills to get in and out of the parking lot. Entered the restaurant and was greeted by friendly staff members. We were seated right away, since there were open seats. The restaurant looks like it can get busy, so I'm glad we got there at a good time. Rueben, who is the manager of the place, explained what the menu had to offer. He gave us a warm welcome since it was our first time there. We started off with drinks and some chips and salsa. The salsa was a little on the spicy side, but nothing my family and I couldn't handle. Just makes it tastier. We also saw jalapeno poppers on the menu and decided to get those too. It's hard to find poppers where we come from. We looked over the menu a little bit more and decided to get the rib hut sampler platter. Served with 1 beef rib, 2 baby back ribs & 2 spare ribs. We got 2 loaded baked potatoes to go with that rib platter. My kid tried the beef rib platter. The portions are huge here. Thankfully we were able to finish what we ordered, because we did see a lot of people take home boxes of food home with them. All in all we were completely satisfied with the service with the food. It definitely filled us up. We thank you for such great service and good food. We will keep this place in mind for the next time we visit El Paso again.

Ceivy M.

Yelp
The experience was meh. I ordered a brisket sandwich but they gave me a brisket platter, it was mostly tasteless fat. The ribs had a good sauce but flavorless without it. The Mac and Cheese was soggy and disappointing. Not a bad experience, but won't be coming back anytime soon.

Kareli A.

Yelp
the food here is delicious and the service was super good. our waiter, ruben, was really friendly and accommodating. the vibes of this place are very welcoming

David H.

Yelp
I'm having trouble deciding on how to review this place. My wife & I wanted to love it, but (at best) it's a like. My wife enjoyed her baby back ribs, but they weren't as tender & flavorful as she hoped. No smoke aroma or flavor. I tried the turkey & brisket combo for something different. The turkey was dry & flavorless. The brisket was tender, but was also a bit flavorless. Neither meat smelled or tasted of smoke. Their BBQ sauce helped with that regard, but seems a bit salty. The sides were the stars - the steak fries were fantastic as was the cole slaw (which has pineapple tidbits in it.) We also ordered a couple of mixed berry cobblers to take with us. It turned out that they were cherry and just seem to be dump cake. One side of my piece of cobbler seemed to have some BBQ rub on it and had to be tossed. The service was very good. I'm willing to try them again, but I'll probably just get a burger - with steak fries because wow - those are fantastic.

Justin E.

Yelp
Our group was visiting for a conference and tried this place on our first night for dinner. It was a Tuesday night around 8pm. The curb appeal is low and easy to miss driving by. We didn't smell any bbq walking up which was odd to me that you don't get that whiff of bbq at a rib joint. Inside is old and dark. Great decorations and plenty of seating. No bbq aroma. Staff was nice and very helpful! I had the rib sampler plate with 3 different ribs. Only the baby back was worth trying. The other two were hard to even bite into. Very tough to eat. The beans and potato salad were good, but nothing amazing. The group was not impressed with the meats. Overall, nice staff but not good food. Tough ribs to eat and did not seem like they were actually doing bbq there.

Brian W.

Yelp
Rib Hut A few locals recommended this for good BBQ. Now I think these locals are loco. The Beef brisket was not smokey enough nor juicy. Baby back ribs were not even teeth tender and lacked flavor. Ribs should stand alone without sauce. These ribs definitely required sauce. Now their curly fries were incredible. We actually ordered a second basket. Heck, I would go to this restaurant just for the fries alone. Their Mac n Cheese was solid. The staff was very genuine and made you feel welcome as soon as you got there. The interior is very casual. The restaurant is in the shape of a chalet( A Frame ) Perhaps I went to this restaurant on an off day in the bbq pit ? All in all - I'm not planning to go back. Texas has thousands of BBQ places.

Lizette A.

Yelp
I wish I could give 10 stars. This place is beyond amazing and delicious. It looks like an old tavern on the inside, it's so perfect and cozy, and the food is absolutely PERFECT. Ordered the turkey club and got a massive heap of turkey topped with bacon crumbles and melty cheese I loved every bite. The curly fries were so crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. I added an extra side of potato salad thinking it would be a tiny cup but it turned out to be a big cup that was practically overflowing. The portions are huge and you're definitely not going to leave hungry afterwards. The service was great, as our server even asked if we wanted drinks to go and brought us big 32 oz cups. Definitely coming back soon.

James B.

Yelp
We love Rib Hut! The food is top notch, and the service and atmosphere are great. Right near UTexas El Paso and convenient to I-10. Jackie, our waitress is the best. Friendly and attentive.

Amber M.

Yelp
This place is just ok. It's not a place that is on my list of restaurants to recommend because it's very middle when it comes to flavor and BBQ. It's been around forever though so I'd hate to give it anything less than 3 stars.

Tara D.

Yelp
The ambience is charming (a rustic A-frame BBQ joint) and the service was excellent. But I didn't love ANY of my food. The ribs were okay but came with that thick lacquered crust that I just find unpleasant to chew through. I'd rather just taste a spice rub and smoke. The sausage was good but unremarkable. The mac n' cheese was also okay - the sauce tasted like a box (dehydrated cheese + milk.) My favorite thing was actually the side salad. There was unfortunately nothing I would go back to eat again. I think this is decent BBQ if you are looking for volume and great service. I could have gotten two meals out of my "small combo" (2 item) plate. Unfortunately none of it was so good that I really wanted to eat the leftovers. One star for atmosphere. Two stars for great and friendly service. Unfortunately I can't say anything but meh about the food. :(

Justin R.

Yelp
This review is a long time coming. I've been coming here for two years whenever I worked in El Paso. For one, the building itself is freaking cool. It's an A frame house with stuff all over the walls. As a good barbecue place should be able to do, when you approach the building, you should already smell the barbecue itself, being prepared, and this one followed suit. The staff was very kind, and as I walked in each visit and always made me feel welcome. The first time I came here I had the ribs, which were excellent, I believe a beef rib to be exact. The following time I got dark meat chicken. Both times were very fulfilling and delicious. I have such an appreciation for well run barbecue spots that accommodate their establishment with good food, and nothing short of that. The sweet tea was good, the side of mac & cheese and green beans were great, the toast was good. You name it, I bet that the majority of items on this menu are worth the price. If you are close to this place at any point in time, be sure to take the time to stop in and give it a shot.

Lisa B.

Yelp
Monique was a friendly, attentive server. On a busy Saturday night she made us feel welcomed. The brisket was delicious as was the turkey and sausage, and the hot wings were crunchy, spicy, and huge. We'll be sure to visit Rib Hut again the next time we're in El Paso.

Neomi G.

Yelp
The service was outstanding. Michael was amazing! He was funny, great personality, and very attentive. Food was excellent too!

Alex R.

Yelp
Michael was an excellent server. Some of the best service I've had at a rib hut! Can't wait to come back for his amazing service paired with amazing food!

Dick S.

Yelp
Fabulous beef ribs at a great price. I had the 2 beef rib meal with 2 sides. I chose slaw & green beans. Everything was fabulous. Under $20!

Michael B.

Yelp
Needed a lunch near the campus. Rib Hut is the lucky winner. The inside is a little too dark for me, but this is a minor gripe. Ordered the sausage bites as an appetizer and they were delicious (great bbq sauce). Time to order. I ordered fried catfish which came with two sides. Wanted the coleslaw BUT there's has pineapple. Yuck. Got green beans instead. And they were excellent with lots of bacon. The catfish itself was also excellent. My wife ordered the ribeye steak and while she loved it, I had a bite and thought it was very fatty. Overall, the food was very good. My biggest complaint about the visit was the fact that my wife's plate had two large chips in it. This is potentially very dangerous. They were large enough that it was impossible to miss them. Yet, the business decided to serve on that plate anyways. Parking is awful. Prices were higher than i expected. $55 and we didn't even order alcohol. Will we come back? Sure, but Rib Hut will not become a regular hangout.

Becky S.

Yelp
Best brisket and bbq in Texas, I left a 25% tip because the food was so good, huge portions my husband and I had to split a full plate

Estrella D.

Yelp
Rib hut was so so good. I love any type of barbecue but rib hut does it differently. Their customer service is top notch, I felt like I was being served by an old family friend, my waitress went above and beyond (I think her name was maria, she was a nice hispanic lady). I was really craving a baked potato with my steak and she told me they were out, I was disappointed but picked something else. Moments later she came back with a loaded baked potato and asked if I wanted the last one. I gladly accepted! My girlfriend and I literally ordered the menu to have a sample of everything, I would say you can't go wrong with their spuds, ONION RINGS, baby back ribs, brisket, and their RIB EYE. I'm a small girl and I had some appetizers, some bbq from my gf's plate, the potato, and somehow still managed to devour my steak in less than 10 minutes. My stomach didn't have room but i made some! So good!

Ron H.

Yelp
Manager doesn't care if you have something wrong with your food. Only said " I'll look into it" when I called . Didn't say anything about refund, replace, or even something else.

Jerry K.

Yelp
It's all about the food. The parking is a bit tight, and it's generally crowded. However, you definitely will go home full and satisfied. My personal favorite are the beef ribs!

Cathryn M.

Yelp
We had the baby back 1/2 rack special with 2 sides. Best ribs ever. Two people could easily share a plate. Ruben is the best, wonderful service. And priced well.

Victoria P.

Yelp
When you go to a place called "Rib Hut" you obviously need to order the ribs. They were pretty good! I'd skip on the brisket personally. No smoke rings on the brisket, kinda dry, and a bit tough to eat. I like my brisket with smoke rings, juicy, and smokey....mmmmm :) But the ribs - the ribs are a for sure go to! We ordered family style. - BBQ Mixer - Beef Rib Platter - Brisket Platter That was enough to feed 4 people and we still went home with some leftovers. You get some flavorful ribs with some pretty attentive servers. Plenty of seating - very comfortable atmosphere. Pretty dim inside to keep that hot El Paso sun out (thank the Lord). So if you're in the neighborhood for sure try Rib Hut & get the ribs! With some Mac and cheese...the Mac and cheese was pretty creamy :)

Kevin C.

Yelp
We stopped in here for lunch today and it was amazing. The staff were all very friendly and we were warmly greeted when we walked in and promptly given a table. The decor is eclectic, funky, and fun. It's one of those fun "local" places. My friend and I both had the Rib Hut Sampler Platter. The ribs were meaty, juicy, and cooked perfectly. Their BBQ sauce is some of the best I've ever had. I had the fried okra as a side, and everyone MUST try the "Green Chili Mac and Cheese" .... Oh my GOD that was amazing. Check this place out for great food in a cozy, friendly atmosphere.

Mike M.

Yelp
This place has been around longer than I have been alive. And I'm old. Although they now have a far east side location, this original UTEP location is still my favorite. There's something for every carnivore on the menu. It's down to earth, comfortable and a great place to watch sports. A bit pricey, but what isn't these days. Always enjoy visiting the Rib Hut.

Emily K.

Yelp
Not sure what happened, but the quality of the ribs here went downhill for us. We came by today and picked up 3 beef ribs with 2 sides. The ribs themselves were completely different than the last time. The first thing I noticed was that the meat was extremely tough - we both had to use a knife with a good amount of force to get most of it off the bone. The meat was well-seasoned, but that was about the only positive. It was dry with tons of fat that was difficult to chew through. For our sides, we chose the mac & cheese and curly fries. The mac & cheese was just as creamy and delicious as last time, and the curly fries were about average. While our ribs were well-seasoned and the mac & cheese is still great, we most likely won't be back for a while. Since our lunch today was just one bad experience, I will average this review with our super positive last one at around 3 stars.

Jenny L.

Yelp
I'm gonna preface this review...I believe that everyone has their own reasons to like a certain spot. My brother in law talked up Rib Hut like you wouldn't believe. He said it was delicious and was a treat when he went to UTEP. ‍ Now I believe that if you're a poor starving student and needed a lot of protein for a good price, Rib Hut probably meets all those requirements. I saw a lot of UTEP football players and students while getting take out. But, after actually trying the food, I'd gladly pay a little more to not hurt my teeth. They're certainly not hurting for business as takeout was hopping. The waitress was friendly and recommended that I try the baby backs, the beef ribs, and I knew I wanted the brisket. I should've stuck with the brisket alone, but I thought a place like the Rib Hut would have good ribs. It didn't. Maybe it was an off day, but both the baby back and the beef ribs were completely dry and extremely hard to eat. There was no falling off the bone anything...you have to fight like a dog to get it off the bone. The brisket was tender and juicy and the house made sides (mac and cheese and steak fries) were good. The Sunday special of $17.99 was an extremely good price for the amount of food given. I just wish I had just ordered brisket for all the meats. I did get a small BBQ brisket burrito for $3, and that was amazing. If you do go, stick with the brisket. If you want ribs, the food trucks will serve you the fall off the bone style, unless you want to pretend pero.

Yelp
We took it to go and don't live super close, so it would prove better to eat in. The food was ok. We didn't keep our leftovers. The flavors were fair and the BBQ sauce was thinner than I like. The meat was dry so you had to use it. The service was quick. It's definitely family friendly and casual.

Yelp
Great service, cool vibe. Seems like you're in a mountain hut instead of El Paso. Food was good but not great. Ribs are the way to go here, but I had the sampler and it came with brisket that was bone dry. I mean so dry. Ruined my experience and review. Stick to the ribs!

Yelp
Hard to find door at Mesa address. Went to get BBQ chicken or turkey w/ loaded baked potato. They were out of potatoes. Opted for chili chicken pita. The chicken salad was mostly heavy on mayonnaise, spicy and bland. It needed something to add flavor ie salt, basil, onion, etc. The winner on my "lite" pita was the not so healthy steak fries. They were hot and delicious. Will circle back to try bbq & baked potato.

Yelp
Awful food. No taste whatsoever! Bad presentation! Our server was very kind but other people that work there have bad manners. Ugly, dirty place

Yelp
It is kind of funny how I had never been here before the pandemic. My husband and I do like BBQ a lot, so we've heard many people recommend this place. The reason that we never really been before was their lack of green options on the side dish choice. We normally opted for FD in the past, because they had green bean, broccoli, and pineapple options in their sides. However, ever since the pandemic, FD no longer offer these leaner choices, so we decided to give Rib Hut a try. The first impression we got from our order(s) from Rib Hut is that their portions are HUGE! Each of their entree plates are good for two meals or two person. I love their green beans when it is on the rotation for veggie of the day. It's soft and flavorful, yet still keeps its green color. I wish I can learn how to do that. The quality of the meats vary every time tho. Sometimes it's right on the point, sometimes its over cooked, sometimes it can use some extra time. Overall, I would say it's a great place to eat at/from when you are crazing for a huge plate of BBQ!
