The Ribblehead Viaduct is an amazing piece of history. The 24 stone arches are impressive, and the surrounding views are beautiful. It’s easy to access via a footpath, and there’s a nearby station where you can see trains crossing the viaduct. There’s free roadside parking available too. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!

It's a fantastic place to visit with lovely scenery. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth taking a stroll. It's very peaceful and an excellent spot for a long walk with your dog. There are ample parking spots along the way, so parking shouldn't be a concern. Additionally, it's a great place for photography enthusiasts to capture plenty of beautiful shots. No matter what day you choose, whether it's sunny or raining, you will enjoy the day. You might be fortunate enough to snap a great photo of a train crossing the viaduct.

An absoulte marvel of enginering and a sight to behold. Worth a visit even if you do not intend to climb Whernside or any of the 3 peaks. Its an iconic symbol of Victorian engineering and perseverance, being the largest and most impressive of the viaducts on the Settle to Carlisle railway line. Situated less than half a mile from the roadside with free parking, it is also relatively easy to reach. The viaduct, as well as stretching over 400 metres consists of 24 arches each of which is approx. 14 meters wide. At its highest point the Ribblehead Viaduct is 32 meters above the valley floor, but each pillar of the arch has a foundation below ground of nearly 8 meters. As part of the construction every 6th pillar is 50% thicker so that they could still support the line should a pillar collapse. The viaduct used over 1.5 million bricks for the arches and then huge blocks of limestone for the bases. With some of the blocks weighing 8 tons, it was an engineering miracle to get some of these stones into place with the technologies of the day back in the 1800’s. A highly recommended free attraction that will be sure to impress the most un- architecturally minded folk.

Ribblehead viaduct is just over the border from Cumbria into North Yorkshire. This great masterpiece is surely the most impressive structure to visit on Settle to Carlisle Railway line. This area is full of nature beauty. Free parking around and free to visit.

First of all: FREE! To visit this place is FREE. This viaduct was on my English bucket list. Drove by car from Liverpool. M6 then A683 (Ingleton) via B6255 to Ribblehead Visitor Centre. The road run through stunning tiny villages, and hill views! Lot of parking options around the national park’s gate. With support, it can be fully accessible for all disabilities to get to the viaduct. Gravel road, about 15 minutes easy walk from the pub to the viaduct! Wow! Many of other reviewers already shared their experiences about this magical place. Definitely a must see. Definitely worth to visit and tick ✅ for my bucket list..

A great place to start your hike from whether you’re just doing Whernside or all the Yorkshire three peaks.plenty of space to park by the road side with great views but fills up quickly so get there early.the station inn does great food and you can stop overnight in the carpark as long as you visit the pub for a drink or meal.really handy if you have a camper etc.

Very picturesque viaduct framed by gentle hills. Trains regularly crossing. Not much else nearby but loads of space to walk around. There was parking available by the side of the road with a high turnover of visitors grabbing a picture then leaving. Could imagine it very busy at peak times.
