The Best Philadelphia Hoagies, According to a Local

"A South Philly institution dating back to 1920 that delivers old-school neighborhood hoagie vibes from a nondescript storefront; known for the classic Italian hoagie featuring freshly sliced meats and cheese on a soft Liscio’s roll and for maintaining a fiercely local, how-youse-doin’ atmosphere (a newer Center City outpost lacks some of the original’s character)." - Robert DiGiacomo

My family and I just ate dinner here tonight and even though the tables are quite small everything exceeded our expectations. The food was all delicious appetizers entrees and including desserts. The wait staff was very friendly, respectful and attentive. So I highly recommend dining in with your loved ones, we will definitely be returning there sometime soon!

Ricci’s Family Restaurant is a Greece staple. I’ve been coming here since I was a little girl as I grew up around the corner. Excellent Italian and pizza. And the service is always top notch. Nikki, in particular is such a LIGHT!! Her smile and greeting light up the entire room and her service is so efficient and friendly, she just makes you feel right at home. Nikki, thank you so much for giving me awesome service the other day. You really made my meal special!

Google
A quaint, Italian family restaurant that feels like you are in a small town. The white pizza is delicious and a go to every time we visit. Every item we have tried has always been great, the classic Italian options are delicious. The French fries are great as well! Will definitely be back to visit!

Google
The food and atmosphere here is fantastic. We loved it. The clams and mussel appetizer was very good. The bread there was so fresh and soft but crispy on the outside. It was cooked very well. We also got the French onion soup which was very flavorful. Our waitress was Cheryl. She was very sweet and attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant not only for the food and drinks but as well as the service.

Went there for the first and last time. Food was meh and not hot. Staff not very friendly. Was there on a Saturday night was by no means crowded. A "Karen" (by Karen i mean i believe it was the owner)shot the nastiest looks because my grandson (2 years old) was standing up looking out the window and just bellowed asking if we needed a high chair. There was only a couple near us and didn't seemed bothered he wasn't banging on the glass or screaming. We left our food and walked out. Not a family friendly restaurant. Won't go back or recommend.

Google
Huge portions for very reasonable prices. Food was fresh & hot, staff was friendly and very accommodating. I had Penne & Sausage (with two meatballs added in) and wifey had Linguine in a white clam sauce. Will definitely be back!!

Usually a really positive experience - last night we went and most of the food was really enjoyable! One of the dishes tasted off and when we informed the waitress we didn’t want it - not a big deal. We weren’t too concerned about it and were willing to pay for it. Most of the team was great about it until this one woman (manager or owner?) came over and lectured our table that the dish was delicious and cooked exactly how it was supposed to be cooked. Defending the dish profusely. It was very standoffish and rude. It made the whole table uncomfortable and ruined a great night. Again we did not mind paying for the dish, but she must’ve told us 3/4 times that we MUST pay for the dish even though we said we already would multiple times - we just wanted her to leave us alone but she seemed intent on us agreeing that the dish was fine when it was not. After that we rushed our meal to get out of there as quickly as possible. It was just disappointing that a birthday dinner was ruined over someone yelling at us and making an issue over a non issue.

Google
My parents come here quite frequently and rave about how good the food is, so I met up with them for lunch to check it out. The FOOD indeed was good! And so was the service. I was confused why the au jus was an additional cost to have for the French dip though.. the roast beef would have just been bland with only the cheese and French bread. I really loved the bread. I will be coming here more often now!

Yelp
Marilyn is the owner. I can't say enough about what a lovely caring, manager she is! So accommodating to all. I think , the restaurant is immaculate. And so pleasent to enjoy an excellent dinner with the coziest ambiance! One of my favorites. Thanks all servers, ur all so accomplished.

Yelp
Food- 50/50 chance whether its good or awful. Service- Owner is extremely rude, as are some of the servers. Ambiance- outdated.

Yelp
It was Friday night date night 2/16, and we were lucky enough to get a table on a Friday night without making reservations. As always the service was good the waitress was pleasant and thorough, the ambiance was good too. It wasn't long after we sat down and we were served our waters and drinks, the bread/ olive oil. Then our salads which are good sized portions. We also got the artichoke French appetizer always delicious and a favorite of ours. My fiancée got the broiled Haddock which he says never disappoints. I got the vegetarian stuffed pepper with a side of penne pasta which was delicious. This was the first time I have tried it. It is definitely a favorite of mine now. We also split the chocolate mousse for dessert which never disappoints So all in all a great dining experience I highly recommend this establishment.

Yelp
Long wait for a table with no reservation. Food was average. Large portions. Atmosphere was old style dinner type.

Yelp
Ricci's has been around forever it seems. I grew up near Greece and can remember driving by for at least 30 years. Always a decent meal. We stopped in early on a Friday and weren't sure we would get in, but most the people were getting takeout. So we had a little table for a nice little dinner. I won't say it is my favorite Italian restaurant. But it is always consistent and a good meal. They do Italian food right. Apparently they make great pizzas here also, never think of a restaurant as a takeout pizza place. I hope to try soon. Try them out sometime.
google avatar

Yelp
Fast and friendly service. The food was in huge portions and we had plenty of leftovers for tomorrow. Got chocolate mousse to go. Light, airy with chocolate bits. Delicious and not too sweet. We'll definitely be back to try more dishes!

Yelp
Been coming here for pizza since the '70's. Best in town. The sauce and dough are spectacular. Don't forget the double cheese!!!

Yelp
Meet some friends here for lunch. Walking in you see a hostess station and a cute smaller bar. Unfortunately I had to back to work so no drinks this time. I went with a cup of French onion soup, it was good. Also a side salad with some added cheddar cheese and ranch dressing. Great spot for lunch, would like to go back and try some dinner options.

Yelp
We come here quite a bit due to quality of the food and location. This place has been here a long time and for good reason!!! My favorite part is their portions are huge. I always leave with leftovers and even my husband does and he can eat a lot. Most meals come with salad or soup. Complimentary bread is served in the beginning. I usually get the eggplant parm with spaghetti or the gnocchi with a meatball. The gnocchi is so soft and melts in your mouth, you can't go wrong. Eggplant is tricky to make and I like it here. I also enjoy the salmon there if I don't feel like heavy pasta. My other go to if I don't want red sauce is their chicken French. The special with the pork chops and pumpkin risotto was delicious. If you've never been you're missing out. They have a full bar so come grab a drink and a meal you won't be disappointed. I recommend reservations as they seem to be busy all the time!

Yelp
Wonderful pizza for 40 years.Like no other!Superb, cheese laid on thick, almost slab like ,no other pizza comes close!

Yelp
I went to Ricci's family restaurant for dinner. The environment as soon as you entered the restaurant looks old, outdated and extremely crowded! The seating and positioning of the tables are just ridiculous. While dining my back was touching someone else's back. If i moved my chair just a little bit the other customer behind me got upset. I expressed my concern to the staff but they just didn't care about the problem and didn't offered any solutions. I ordered a glass of Chardonnay and it came directly from a can (if you must have wine then order Cabernet (this was from an actual bottle) . The staff was not friendly at all and they seemed irritated by customers. The food was ok. I ordrered the spaghetti that supposedly made Ricci's famous and it wasn't anything special (I had better).

Laura S.

Yelp
Ricci's is a classic Italian Restaurant!!!! Greens and Beans as an appetizer is a meal....but pace yourself because you don't want to miss dinner! The fresh flavors are incredible! I had the chicken French which was the best I have had. Light, lemony, tender and topped with a grated cheese that was the perfect topping. Portions are generous...!!! My spouse had the fish specially prepared to her liking...no oils, just in wine and spices to perfection. A touch of almond on top another perfect way to top off the meal. The service was outstanding...genuine, sweet, helpful and attentive! I believe she may have been an owner. Don't pass up this place it is awesome!!!!!

Yelp
Probably my favorite Italian restaurant around rochester. Good atmosphere, food is always amazing. I like the Sicilian Calamari, and the vodka pasta is wow.. Free bread and oil to warm up which is pretty typical but, good bread. Overall no complaints here. Quality, reasonably priced.

Trisha D.

Yelp
Ordered a bowl of French onion soup with extra cheese I got the original in a paper bowl to go hen I was sitting at a table, ordered extra cheese and this is what I got. The lady dumped the soup from the paper bowl into a real one still no extra cheese and no money back. Next time don't pay before the food come... it was a horrible experience and I was so looking forward to there soups. Never again and don't recommend them to anyone. Cold service from what I'm guessing the manger owner saying no she girl put it in wrong wasted 10 min of my 30 min lunch... DONT GO THERE, I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE.... RESPONSE: I asked the girl at the counter put my stuff at the table I was sitting at, asked for a glass of wine after why would someone do that if it was to go.... Second when you realized she made an error I didn't want the soup and was told to bad. And you walked away. Also you handle a negative comment on your face book by blocking the person. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! What a way to delete a negative comment and block the customer, instead of trying to make it right. Your girl is the one who made the error not me. Why would I sit at a table if it was to go. And it didn't have extra cheese, I asked for my money back you bowl of untouched soup was on the table due to your servers error, and was refused. No one should ever pay in advance because had I not it wouldn't have happened and it would have been a totally different experience. Blocking someone on face book because you don't agree with the comment is SAD!!!

Yelp
After a very busy day, my husband and I decided to go to Ricci's for dinner. It was a Friday night, only a few minutes after 5 PM, and the place was already packed - every seat at the bar was taken, every table was filled and there was a waiting list. We didn't mind. The restaurant atmosphere was festive, the Christmas decorations were lovely, and we were soon seated at our table. Our pleasant and friendly waitress took our drink orders. And it was all downhill from there. Stale bread, wilty salad greens, watery ranch dressing, uneventful fried calimari, bitter tasting haddock french, under cooked eggplant parmesan. We were disappointed beyond words. This was not our first visit to Ricci's, but it was our last.

Yelp
Tried a few times over past few years when visiting my daughter in Greece. Ordered this past Tuesday - 3-21-23- as it was son in laws birthday. He ordered chicken parm, daughter and I ordered fettuccine Alfredo. No!! Do not order. His chicken parm was old, thin, over cooked and possibly "leftover" from weekend according to son in law. ( he doesn't complain...ever) he was disappointed. Our Alfredo was not Alfredo! It was a white sauce made with flour, milk and and a drive by dollop of (maybe) some sort of cheese! Inedible! If you are going to put something on your menu, at least do it well! The noodles themselves were good!! More like a pappardelle noodle. I rescued it tonight. Butter, heavy cream, real grated parm and Romano work wonders!! It was decent with my rescue of cream, cheese, and butter! At todays prices and economy, don't insult customers with poor white cream sauce! Take it off menu if too expensive to prepare! Serve fresh chicken parm and authentic Alfredo! Or take it off the menu.

Yelp
OMG I am not in Indiana anymore! First Ricci's is very proudly been in business since 1970. It is housed in a former bank with a cozy feel. Decor is dated but clean and comfortable. I feel as if I am in a restaurant from my childhood. They start you out with fresh bread with butter or dried herbs with olive oil Fresh Parmesan is on the table with hot pepper flakes. Salad with fresh tasting Parmesan peppercorn dressing. Simple but tasty. The chicken piccata was spectacular. Not as good as mine but very tasty. I will be back.

Mary Jo E.

Yelp
Got takeout last night. Food was ready when we arrived and was piping hot and delicious. We had linguine with clams and veal piccata. Will definitely order again

Kristie S.

Yelp
Overcooked and under seasoned! The steak was 1/4 inch thick with the consistency of mushy liver. Probably the worst restaurant New York strip I've ever had. Dry, dry, dry is the only way to describe the chicken in the dish. The best part of the meal was the service.

Yelp
We have been going to Ricci's for several years, so this review is long overdue. They are an authentic Italian restaurant with a wide array of signature dishes to please any craving you may have. For salad lovers, I highly recommend the Grilled Steak Caesar Salad or Ricci's Cobb Salad. Want a full hearty dinner? Try the Chicken Elaine, with its grilled chicken breasts and creamy Alfredo over linguine or the Chicken French, which is served with the traditional lemon-wine sauce over angel hair pasta! Both are simply delicious! Not feeling like salad, chicken or pasta? Try Ricci's Mark Special with its au jus soaked roast beef topped with mozzarella on toasted French bread - YUM! We've had nearly every item on their menu and have always been very happy! The servings are huge, so you could actually share any of dinners and still leave feeling stuffed. All of this comes with great prices too! And lastly, I can't say enough about their staff. We are always treated like family when we walk in and they are very attentive, even when they are super busy. They do a great job!

Yelp
Bestttt family restaurant in the area! The owners are Italian so they certainly specialize in Italian food! Their pasta is out of this world. Would highly recommend. My favorite so far was one of their specials.. the putenesca pasta. I'm really hoping they add it to their menu! They also do a great job with the kids. Great kids menu and love the teddy graham touch. My girls look forward to that now!

Gary A.

Yelp
Hands down best Italian on the Westside. Chx park is outstanding, and I start without their mussels in an exceptional red sauce. House made salad dressing with crumbly blue is a great starter.

Yelp
Ok, sorry Yelpers, but I have gone here for more than 30 years and this place not only has consistently had fantastic service, it is some of the best Italian food in Rochester. There is no fanfare, just simply prepared, great food with a staff that wants you to enjoy eating there.

Lisa T.

Yelp
Have only done take out. The meal was very good and ready when promised. The pizza is very good and reasonable as well. Staff is very pleasant to deal with.

MJ C.

Yelp
Do you want the BEST pizza in Rochester? Go to Ricci's! It's so amazing I just packed up this pizza to take back to Las Vegas!

Yelp
My co-workers kept talking about Ricci's and how amazing it was. I was tired of hearing about it so I had to find out for myself. I didn't make a reservation on a Saturday evening which I normally would have. If you make a reservation, everyone in your party must be present in order to be seated. My husband and I waited about 15 minutes before we were taken to a booth. There's a waiting area with seats and a bench next to the coat room and bathrooms. The restaurant isn't that big but there is a bar. The decor is not fancy, just a mom and pop restaurant with a homey feel to it. Our waitress brought us our warm bread. Yes! The menu can be overwhelming, there's just pages and pages of options. Our waitress recommended the chicken french or chicken elaine. I went for the chicken elaine and lobster bisque while my husband ordered the ravioli and sausage on the side. Our waitress informed us that the lobster bisque was spicy. It came out in a a good size bowl and it definitely had a kick to it. There were lobster pieces in there. My chicken elaine consisted of two pieces of chicken breasts along with mushrooms, broccoli, and sun dried tomatoes over a bed of linguine and alfredo sauce. I decided to forgo the roasted red peppers. Man was my dish ginormous, I barely made a dent in it. The alfredo wasn't heavy at all and all the contents mixed together was so good! I'm not a fan of chicken breast either so this says a lot. Our waitress was nice enough to pack my lobster bisque to go and the rest of my entree. I will defintely be back to Ricci's. The portions are huge and the food was great.

Yelp
This is my First trip up here to Rochester from Wisconsin, and New York is well known for some really good pizza. So Far I've had three different Pies, and a friend of mine suggested that i ordered from Ricci's, and man they didn't disappoint. The red sauce has a great balance of flavors for a pizza sauce! And when you add fresh ingredients and fresh toppings to pizza' like ricci's does, it calls for a great pizza. Not to mention just about everything on the menu is made in house. They have a pretty broad menu that stays in within the rich history of Italian cuisine along with pizzas These guys know what they're doing in the kitchen. Thanks for the first time experience. Great customer service.

Yelp
My taste buds are singing, Heaven, I Am In Heaven...while diving in delectable Artichoke Heart French. An ahhh moment, which could have lasted longer but like any good love, ended too fast. Lightly seasoned, lemony, not greasy, tender and fresh. The best I have ever had! And when was the last time you said that. Ricci's has you begging for seconds. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Went with my Dad on Veterans day after a 5k, we were welcomed with such honest and genuine thanks for our service and a free cup of coffee. What a great family restaurant. Food was fantastic.

Yelp
Hey I'm sorry that I have to give this a bad review. but the order I received was not good, and I spent almost $50 on this order I ordered a chicken piccata with a onion soup and a pepperoni pizza. the noodles were overcooked, the sauce was very watery like soup , The onion soup I'm not even going to call it soup it was just a bowl full of onions barely any soup, the was rubbery and tough and the pizza was very cold the cheese was stringy. Side bread did not come with any butter..and it just wasn't a good experience for me and this is the first time I have tried this restaurant. Sorry guys we didn't even finish eating the meal unfortunately Update: thank you for your response maybe someday we will try again

Yelp
A long time staple of Greece. A nice, quiet, and cozy place to visit any time of the week for either lunch or dinner.

Yelp
I wanted to LOVE this place - the Rochester family restaurant scene is so awesome. We made reservations for 4 people at 5:30pm. We got there, were told it was very busy so would probably be awhile, and were yelled at by the woman at the front desk for bringing a newborn to a reservation for FOUR people. The baby must count as fifth person in a reservation. We explained that we could hold the baby and the baby didn't need a seat. She said, "How? With what? The baby needs a seat!" My husband said, "We can just hold him. He's a newborn. We have arms." She declined and told us to wait. We were seated a half hour later, at 6pm, even though we had reservations for 5:30pm. The food was good, but not over-the-top amazing for the high prices. Bread and oil is served first, and soup or salad comes with most entrees. We ordered the prime rib and angel hair pasta with tomato basil sauce. Both were great, we just felt like the prices were too high for the food. Some of the fancier restaurants in Rochester have the same prices. Overall: - Decent food, but too expensive - Good atmosphere - Not the nicest hosts - Does not have high chairs that flip over to place baby carriers on

Yelp
First time visiting Rochester and had my first meal at Ricci's. The place is casual, but white table cloth, a family run place that was doing a bustling business. I followed suit and got what grandma ordered...broiled Haddock. Wowza, this was one of the top 10 tastiest fish entrees I have ever had. I am not used to seeing much Haddock in the Bay Area where I am from and it was a delicious treat. The portion was massive, and cooking was perfection, so simply done. My mouth is watering now just writing about it. Gramps and the man got prime rib and it was also a enormous poirtion. Really well cooked, and a great cut. This was probably the best meal I had in Rachacha. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Riccis has been a family fav since the first location on ridge toad west by empire electric Just got a large double sauce double cheese pepperoni pizza . Still good but seemed the sauce was a little different . I hope no changes have been made Love the original sauce. That's the importance of double sauce

Yelp
I remember eating out at Ricci's throughout my childhood and recently we had dinner here when I was back in town visiting. I have to say, it was just the same (and just as good) as I remember it! Ricci's does a great job with red sauce Italian classics---you won't go wrong ordering pizza, chicken parmesan, eggplant parm, or veal parm. Dinner starts with their warm bread and a plate of spices that you can mix with olive oil to spread on the bread---delicious. Their salads are great too (they have chickpeas in them!) and they always have my favorite dressing, parmesan peppercorn. For this meal, I had the eggplant parm and it was huge. The plate was literally the size of two plates at many other restaurants, so plan on either splitting an entree or taking half of your dinner home (they reheat really well the next day). And it was delicious: tons of mozzarella cheese, perfectly breaded and fried eggplant, and homemade sauce. Prices are on the higher end for Greece ($16 for my dish) but portion sizes are so large that it's still a pretty good value. Friendly service as well!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I headed to Ricci's for an early Valentine's Day dinner. Our waitress was really nice and let us both taste some wine to decide which one we wanted for the night. The highlight of the night was the French onion soup cup. This was probably the second best I've ever had. We also split quesadillas as an appetizer. They were solid and the portion was large. They came with thick sour cream and what seemed to be homemade salsa on the side. For the main course I got chicken parm with a side of pasta. The chicken was good and crispy and not too greasy. One of the highlights of any dish here is the tomato sauce. It definitely doesn't taste like Ragu. My boyfriend got pasta with sausage. We both had leftovers to take home. His meal came with a huge side salad. We will definitely be back some time.

Charles M.

Yelp
atmosphere blah, ordered french onion soup, no cheese on top a small piece of bread floating on top with cheese on it. no onions in the soup, basically broth. seen better at non Italian restaurant's. def not worth another visit. Waitress didn't know what to say when I told her. should have removed it from the hill.

Yelp
I went there back in February with my mother and we were very pleasantly surprised. Gave it 4 stars. But tonight was my second visit, with my husband, and that was a definite 1-star experience. So let's put them together for a 2.5. My first visit, the server was solid and the food was excellent. Tonight, the food was mediocre and the service was awful. We shrugged off the first handful of service issues... the group of young staff that ignored us when we walked in while they finished their conversations and giggles...the water and soda glasses that never were filled...dirty appetizer plates that were never cleared - fine. You'd hope for better at $20/plate but whatever. When the bill came, there was a significant up-charge on it for items we ordered. There is nothing wrong with an up-charge. Up-charges are fine. But we were disappointed we weren't told about it when we ordered. When we asked the waitress about it (Sabrina?), she was very rude, very snooty and said that no, they don't tell their guests about up-charges. No apology, no smile, no curtesy. I didn't appreciate the tone she took with us. We suggested that in the future, they mention it to their customers, as that is expected industry-wide. She said nothing and then didn't return to the table at all, having one of her co-workers bring us our charge slip. If this had been a $25 diner meal it might not have been as frustrating. But $50+ for disappointing food and mind-bogglingly rude service left a very, very bad taste in our mouths. I am a longtime server and have never, ever stiffed a waitress on a tip before. Even poor service gets 10%. This lady-child got $3 - and that was $3 too much.

Yelp
Great food great atmosphere. Family owned and operated and it is real homemade food is always good the bread is unbelievable

Yelp
I don't know how it's possible, but I only recently tried their pizza. I am pretty much a pizza connoisseur and somehow I never paid attention to the entire section on the menu devoted to my favorite delicacy. Well, I tried it. And sweet baby jesus, the sh*t was tasty as all get out. The pepperoni is hand cut and thick, the crust and sauce are perfection. I'm even totally okay with having to pick it up, because a half sheet is only $13.77 after tax- don't forget to tip on a take out order though!

Yelp
Gnoccis are a must....but don't be shy...this place will not let you down...If you are looking to try something new...start here....their prices are very reasonable and the young servers bring a twinkle to your eye!!!
google avatar

Shanon G.

Yelp
A gem of a restaurant in Rochester!!! You know a place is good when there is equal takeout to eat in ratio. The bread is fantastic. I had homemade gnocchi with the most delicious meatballs. My better half had the homemade lasagna- superb. We will be back.

Yelp
Ricci's has always been my favorite Italian restaurant in Greece, NY. Their authentic and expertly-prepared Italian classics are always delicious. My personal favorites are their pizzas, and penne arrabbiata. Arrabbiata sauce, or "sugo all'arrabbiata" in Italian, is a spicy sauce made from garlic, tomatoes, and red or green hot peppers cooked in olive oil. Their fresh bread with spices in oil is a great start, before your meal arrives at the table.

Yelp
I've only been here once so maybe my 4 star review will throw some off, but I thought they executed a pretty good dinner for how busy they were, and the fact that this is sort of a diner-esque, family restaurant. We showed up around 6 on a Friday night. The place was packed with what seemed to be regulars and a few newbies like my family and I. They told us it would be around a 35 minute wait...it took about 45 minutes...not bad, wouldn't really hold it against them. They bring you bread with oil and seasoning when you sit, which I thought was a nice gesture for such a casual family restaurant. They had a bunch of specials for the night. I didn't pay too much attention to prices but most seemed to range between 10-20 dollars for entrees that all came with pasta or potato and soup or salad. Specials were mostly fish dishes (it was Friday) haddock and salmon, or their regular menu, which is also fairly large. I ordered the broiled haddock which was delicious. The fish was cooked and seasoned perfectly, although swimming in too much butter...also something I wouldn't really hold against them too much. The fish portion was larger than I expected, and the salads that came with the meal were fresh and had more than just bagged lettuce effort. I orders asparagus instead of pasta or potato and I'm almost positive there was no extra charge for that. Thumbs up! My daughter ordered macaroni and cheese, which was literally Kraft from a box... Kinda CHEESEY (pun intended) but she's 5, so we'll live...but come on. At least buy another brand so it's not so obvious you poured it from a box. All in all everyone was satisfied with their meals! I would definitely go back when it's less busy.

Yelp
Ricci's serves top-notch Italian food. Their pizza is of particular note, given that Rochester suffers from a dearth of quality sit-down pizza joints. That being said, if I were being kind, I would rate their "customer service" as sub-par. My father and I popped in there this evening (a Tuesday) at approximately 9:32pm, looking for a late dinner after doing some holiday shopping. The posting on the door clearly demarcates their hours of operation terminating at 10pm on Monday-Thursday; as a former food service professional, I understand that the later it gets, the less enthused one becomes to serve new guests. However, I also understand that if you clearly state that you are open until 10, you stay open until 10 and you feign a hospitable attitude whilst doing so! There was at least four tables enjoying or waiting for their meals; there was also at least five patrons sitting at the bar. When we approached the hostess stand, one younger employee motioned for an older employee, presumably her superior and presumably someone in a supervisory capacity. The older broad approached us and said "Mmmm, I think we just finished." Just finished what, we inquired. "Finished serving food. Sorry," she said, not sounding sorry in the least. We pointed out that the hours on the door indicated that they should not be done serving food for another 28 minutes, in which time we could easily order and consume our pizza, but she reiterated that they were no longer serving food and waited for us to see ourselves out, which we did....never to return. I really appreciated Ricci's as the go-to restaurant for a sit-down experience with traditional, hearty pizza, but I guess now we will have to take our business to Pontillo's on the Ridge.

Yelp
My entire family loves this place. We have a few annual outings we schedule here because we love it so much. The food is great and we have never had a bad meal. Consistency is key with a good restaurant and these guys always deliver. If you prefer a certain dish - you always get that same good dish. One nice treat is their olive oil and seasoning dip on each table for their homemade bread... very yummy. The staff is very pleasant and accommodating, and the regular bar tender is a great guy.

Yelp
One of the factors I take into consideration when reviewing a restaurant is what grade of Sysco product do they buy; Ricci's is in the mid- to lower- end range. This is a great family restaurant, but it is just like any other Italian-American family diner. The decor was last remodeled in the early 80's, the service was eh eh, and the food was also eh eh. Prices are comparable to a chain without the hard up-sells.

Yelp
I had chicken fazool and my bc had some type of spicy sauce with linguine. It was excellent!! Huge portion (lasted 3 separate meals), and very tasty. It is clean and simple inside.
