Google
I placed an online order and it said 20 minutes, I’m glad I went early because it took the 5 minutes. The food was excellent and full of flavor. I got the chicken fried rice, wontons and pad Thai. I wish I sat and ate inside. This place was so cute and it was actually busy. Would recommend and will be back if I’m ever back in the area.

Google
Great place and very sweet lady that owns the place. The green curry and Thai fried rice are soo good! They also have a neat little area where the owner has little soaps and plants for sale. It’s also a plus that it’s pretty small eating area. Most larger restaurants in Oxford you can’t hear yourself think it’s so loud with full volume talking.

Manasi Suryavanshi

Google
It was one of my favorite restaurants in Oxford. Like their Panang Curry and Tom Yum soup. They are however inconsistent in their level of spiciness and they’ve reduced the portion size as well. Still like eating Thai here. Their service is good and quick.

World Traveller

Google
Delicious crab raggoons and delicious yellow chicken curry with jasmine rice. All for less than $20 ! I loved it. My first time here 😍

Google
Y'all!!! Why have you guys been hiding this gem? The food was freaking delicious! The picture was taken after I had eaten, and there was still plenty leftover. I had the fried rice, with chicken and shrimp, add sweet and sour sauce, and a spice level of 3. I was not disappointed. I will definitely try this place again when I am back in the area.

Google
Loved the people and the food. If you like it extra spicy, just ask and they can bring you a variety of spices you can add to your taste.

Google
Best Thai food in North Mississippi hands down. The pad thai is divine and the beef fried rice never fails as my go-to. The spice isn't for the faint of heart though. But still great overall!

zorafaer alam

Google
good food, good atmosphere, the waiter were bitching about a group of customers after they left though (in the fining area)...

Jack H.

Yelp
Yellow curry was great. Definitely go here if you like spicy food. Get a level 3 or higher

Victor P.

Yelp
I have been a few times, my experience: the food is mediocre-sometimes fair, often bland/mediocre, the amount of protein or vegetable in each dish is miniscule (no exaggeration) and I pay the additional up-charge for extra protein, the side of rice is almost always extremely mushy and overcooked. Who can't cook rice? The service is ok, friendly but not efficient. There are other Thai restaurants in Oxford, this one should be avoided.

Jackson S.

Yelp
Their curry was great. Prices were very reasonable for what is normally an expensive plate, highly recommend for curry.

Jerry D.

Yelp
Great Food! We did delivery and everything was fresh and good. If you like Thai food you can't go wrong

Bennett W.

Yelp
So I got the Pad See Ew.... I've had Pad See Ew multiple times and something was off. The flavors and the texture was alarming, I couldn't even finish it. Maybe I got the wrong thing? Maybe this is a fluke? But I did not enjoy my experience.

Hugh W.

Yelp
Best Asian place in town! I had the level 3 spice drunken master. If you are not a fan on spicy food, don't get anything above level 2. Service is great and quick, and ordering takeout is easy. It's a little dark inside, but awesome.

Yelp
Rice and spice has always been a favorite Resturant for me and my family .. however, since Covid and especially recently the consistency of the food has gone way down.. They have switched there wontons in the wonton soup from pork to chicken .. it has changed the entire flavor profile ... we have stopped ordering it ... they are now skimping on the ingredients as well ... very very disappointing

Becca T.

Yelp
I LOVE this restaurant. I go once every 2 weeks, sometimes once a week, it it is always consistent and delish. While it's nothing groundbreaking, it is warm and hits the spot. Whenever I leave Oxford for extended periods of time, I always crave rice and spice. Their food also comes out VERY fast. I recommend the Thai fried rice. Unlike any Thai fried rice I have ever had. The pad see ew is also very delicious, as well as the drunken noodle.

Yinan H.

Yelp
Awesome food! I ordered steamed chicken love it I like the taste and the environment . Thanks
google avatar

Yelp
We had the broccoli stir fry with beef and the spring roll appetizer. Both were delicious and hit the spot. The staff is friendly and the service is very quick. The restaurant has an overall inviting atmosphere. We will definitely be returning soon!

Yelp
Been going here since my college days. Always has great food ! Wish they had in house dining again

Yelp
This was an awesome place to eat a couple years ago. We were in Oxford today for orientation and couldn't wait to eat here. We had to kill 30 minutes till open so we went to Mi & Tea wow don't waist your time. See my other reviews on this. Sooo I guess Rice & Spice is still on Covid lockdown. NO DINE IN JUST CARRY OUT!! For real come on so not happy didn't get my Thai fix and I'm jonesing bad. One star because we need to eat in not at the dash board buffet.

Yelp
Rice & Spice is one of the, if not the most popular student favorite in town it seems like. I've never been inside to sit and eat and not had to wait for a table to open up. It is very small inside and the seating is as good as it can be for the space they have. Despite that, they have some of the best food I've had. There's different levels of spice you can choose and unlike some places- you genuinely can taste a difference if you start off at a 1 and move your way up. If spice isn't your think and you just want something light, the appetizer shrimp in a blanket is my favorite. I like just that so much that I would call in just to order them. Servers are always nice.

Jason W.

Yelp
Excellent authentic Thai food but not opening the dining room after the pandemic is unacceptable. Your loyal customers will dwindle over time.
google avatar

Matthew E.

Yelp
Doesn't look like much from the outside but it is one of the best restaurants in Oxford. Oxford has much to offer when it comes to Thai food and they are all good but if you want rice and/or curry this is the place to go. The recently started serving on Sundays which is a game changer. The spice here is a little lower compared to some other places but if you're not a friend of spice don't order more than a 1. Highly recommend the Panay Curry. It's incredible. For the un adventurous, the Thai fried rice is something any normal person would enjoy. During the week the lunch special comes with a set app like wonton soup or a spring roll, on the weekends and for dinner you can get other appetizers like crab rangoons, etc. Also unless you really love the heat don't order more than a 7. After 7 you don't fast food just heat and pain.

Yelp
Rice and Spice never disappoints! I am OBSESSED with the Pad See Ew. Very disappointed that the dining area hasn't been opened yet.
google avatar

Cristen H.

Yelp
This is the best Asian food in town. Always fresh, consistently flavorful. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant (though I haven't been in since COVID, of course--we've been getting carry out). Panang curry, Rice & Spice stir fry, and Pad Thai are some of our favorites.
google avatar

Ryan W.

Yelp
This place is awesome when you come ask for the Thai tea it's amazing!!!! My favorite is the Thai fried rice with chicken they always get it right!
google avatar

Sara T.

Yelp
Best thai spot in Oxford! Crab wontons and spring rolls are always hot and amazing. I really enjoy the tom kai soup and panang curry.

Shelbi P.

Yelp
Rice & Spice used to be my favorite restaurant in town hands down. The past couple times I've ordered it has been okay, but today I ordered the yellow curry and the potatoes were actually raw. I don't mean like harder than preferred, I mean completely raw. The onions were also not cooked, it's like they cut up the potatoes and onions and just put them in the sauce. So disappointing
google avatar

Megan D.

Yelp
Great food great atmosphere and even better service ! My food was fresh and I really loved it ! No words to describe the food you should go and see for yourself!
google avatar

Amelia B.

Yelp
This is the best Thai place in Oxford. The spices are just right and the food is fresh. The food also comes out really fast. The crab Rangoon's are amazing and the sauce that comes with it is a lighter, better version of sweet and sour sauce. The green curry has an amazing aroma and the egg plant is done perfectly. The fried rice has fresh ingredients and has a delicious flavor. I would definitely recommend rice & spice when your in the mood for Thai food.

Yelp
Been months since my last visit. Just got off of my second job, and I decided to treat myself for making it through the week. I pull up, walk in, and I'm instantly greeted by all the familiars, great smelling deliciousness being prepared in the back, friendly staff, and that "come on in, and have a seat" vibe that's always in the air there. I place my order, pay, and have a seat in what is definitely the most comfortable seat I've set in all day, and just relax a bit. Food comes out, I pick it up, leave, come home, and have one of the best meals I've had all week.

Paula G.

Yelp
The last two to-go orders were cold and tasteless. Very expensive for cold poor tasting food.
google avatar

Sean K.

Yelp
I really love this place and eat there every time I get the opportunity. When my daughter was attending Ole Miss we ate there almost every time I visited her. I can honestly say I have never had a bad meal or bad service there. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys any Asian food as it has always been a delicious experience for me. The food has always been fresh, hot and arrived promptly (depending on the crowd of course). It is a small place and seems very popular so don't be surprised if you have to wait a bit for a table but I've always found it to be worth it.
google avatar

Julie C.

Yelp
My favorite Thai restaurant in town. Always a sure bet. The lunch specials are a hit with spring rolls or soup included. Regarding the ptional spice levels 1-7... a one or two is usually enough heat for most patrons. We recommend the typical shrimp fried rice or Mongolian with beef, but the thai soups and teas are also wins. Honestly nothing on the menu will disappoint, and we like it all. The only downside is the limited hours, but that's a good thing for the family owners and it's worth it to support locally-owned businesses.
google avatar

Drew O.

Yelp
I ate the chicken fried rice here and got food poisoning from it. I have never in my life had food poisoning and it was hands down the worst thing in the whole entire world. I obviously don't know what it was about the chicken fried rice that made me get food poisoning but clearly Rice & Spice needs to make sure their kitchen is clean in every way and they're cooking their food the right way. After having food poisoning and telling my friends about it they said many people have had food poisoning from here. Never going back.

Yelp
This place is so good, no wait and the service was excellent. Food was even better! By far my favorite place to eat in oxford.
google avatar

Paige P.

Yelp
I am beside myself. And that is an understatement. Customer service? Never heard of that. Answering the phone? Who has a phone these days! CLEARLY not rice and spice. I called so many times to place a to go order and never once did they answer. So I had to drive to place my order and the rude, disgraceful young brunette man at the front made this experience even worse. Then when I got home to enjoy what I thought would be a meal, I was even further disappointed with the portion size. I paid $15 for a meal that should have been .50 cents considering that portion size. Fix it.
google avatar

Yelp
Rice and Spice is a great option for thai food in oxford. It's pretty standard as far as thai food goes and the food is great with considerably big portions. My favorite thai dishes are Tom Kha soup and Pad See Eew and both of those dishes here are great. They're also consistent as far as spice level goes (you get the level you ask for) which is a problem I've had with other thai restaurants in town before. The atmosphere is nice and quiet and my only complaint would be that it's not open all the time and they aren't on any delivery services (Landshark, uber eats, etc.).
google avatar

Kay R.

Yelp
It's the best Asian food in Oxford, bar none. I'm literally never disappointed with the food, regardless of what I get. I know that it can be inconvenient that they close in the middle of the day, but this is typical of most authentic Asian mom-and-pop restaurants. For me, I don't even mind waiting because the food is so good and the servers are so nice. There's no need to try any other Thai food in Oxford, because none of it compares to Rice & Spice.
google avatar

Andrew M.

Yelp
Oxford's most famous Asian dining. Delicious as well. Some would call this place culinary genius. Plenty of rice and a good bit of spice depending on your spice level (1-5). The spice level option is great because you can choose just the right amount of spice for you. Maybe you are feeling safe one day and decide for a 2 spice level or another day you are brave and want a spice level 5. It's great. You gotta experience it.
google avatar

Bill I.

Yelp
I don't know why this place closes for 3 hours in the middle of the day. Makes no sense. They get no business as it is. One time I ordered rice from here but got no spice with the rice. Very displeased. I thought I would at least see some spice flourishing from the ceiling but sadly, no. No spice with that rice.
google avatar

Lucile H.

Yelp
I love this place! Best Thai food in Oxford by far. I usually will get the N4 without onions and switch them with tomatoes, and level 1 spice no spice at all. I also get the mango and sticky rice which is a really good dessert. I'm not a fan of pad thai as it is too sweet for me, but every one of my friends who comes here loves the pad thai here. Small restaurant but excellent.
google avatar

Michelle C.

Yelp
Whenever I'm visiting my boyfriend this place is a must-go. Panang curry is definitely my favorite but yellow curry is good too. Despite living in NYC this is some of the best Thai I have ever had. Service isn't always top notch but worth it.

Yelp
I have been wanting to eat here for the longest. Today I had a little free time so I thought "what the heck ill give it a try". I got there 15 minutes before the lunch crowd. The first thing I noticed was how small the place was. It barely seats 30 people at one time. The atmosphere and the decor was nice. After I was seated I got a sweet tea to drink and began to browse the lunch menu. The great thing about lunch here is that whatever you order, you get a free starter with your meal. As I starter I got the spring roll and for the main dish I ordered the Green Curry. The waitress informed me that they were out of eggplant and asked if it was okay if they substituted zucchini. I told her that was fine. Three minutes later out come my spring roll. In my opinion it was small. Once I picked it up I noticed that it was not greasy at all. It left no residue on the plate. They give you an exact amount of dipping sauce. It was delicious and the dipping sauce was the cherry on top. The spring roll was light, crisp, and fresh. As I was on my last bite, my Green Curry came to the table. The plating was simple and very neat. There was a pressed pile of rice right next to the bowl of Green Curry with beef. I dipped my spoon into the sauce and away my food palate went. It was yummy! Adding the rice to the mixture just made the meal more delectable and mouthwatering. After I was done I didn't have the "itis" feeling at all. The meal didn't have a heavy feeling at all. That is what really sold me on it. I was full yet I didn't feel like I needed to take a nap. Overall I have to give this place 4 stars. I would have liked for the lunch portion of Green Curry to have been bigger. I wish the bowl of curry was bigger. Other lunch dishes around the restaurant were very big in size. The prices are not bad at all either. My lunch was 7.95 plus my drink 1.20. I heard that their service can get kinda bad if its busy in there (lunch hour, dinner). That was not the case when I went. Great job Rice and Spice! Keep up the good work! I will be returning for the Green Curry or to try another dish....
google avatar

Melody L.

Yelp
I love Rice and Spice! My favorite is Pad See Aew (N3). Omg, it is delicious!! Spice level 2 has just the right amount of heat. Yummy!
google avatar

Tim P.

Yelp
I would go back...that's the best compliment I can make. It didn't rock my world but it was fresh and tasty. We had fresh spring rolls, chicken satay, tom yum goon, fried rice, red curry and pad kee mow. It was all good. Service was adequate...mostly coeds with little to no experience in food service but I've had a lot worse. The levels of heat were spot on. We had I, 2 and 3. I don't want to know what 4 and 5 are like. Four of us ate for $60 so that's a plus. There was nothing I'm just dying to try again. However, if it's suggested again I won't say no.

Yelp
I had the pleasure of eating at Rice & Spice last Friday. I'd never had authentic Thai before but always wanted to try it esp. bc of the prominent use of Thai chiles, and bc the Pad Thai-in-a-box (Wal-Mart) definitely left much to be desired. And being a culinary school grad and a foodie, I'm always wanting to try new cuisine, especially if it's Asian. The decor is laid-back but cute, but the food is definitely no child's play! It's was lunchtime so all was being offered was the lunch menu. Being a Thai noob I decided to look everything over, and order whatever jumped out at me. So I started off with the Cabbage Apple Salad w/ the Spicy House Dressing. Might I say it was Spicy Awesomeness In A Bowl!!! Shredded cabbage, carrot, diced red apples, and a not-overly sweet chili vinaigrette. For my main entree, I ordered the Green Curry w/ a level 4 Hot (they offer 0-5). It is made with green curry, coconut milk, eggplant, bell peppers, kaffir lime leaves, basil leaves, and served w/ steamed white rice! You can add a meat, I chose shrimp! When I say: It Burns So Good, BabyI mean It Burns Soooooooo Gooood! SB: You may wanna order some water even if you have a different drink lol. Good thing the waitresses kept my glass full lol!! After looking at the dessert stand, I decided to order the Fried Banana, which were small nuggets of banana that were lightly battered and fried with what seemed like tempura batter. It was served with a honey butter dipping sauce. The saltiness of the butter (Thank goodness it was real butter) and the sweetness of the honey matched the fried bananas Perfectly! They were hot, so imagine my predicament being they were so delectable! Just melts in your mouth! All in all, O loved my first authentic Thai entree so much, I'm going back tomorrow!!

Yelp
Ok, I've been here many times now, and it's probably my favorite Asian place in town! One of the few places with lots of veg*n options, and their veggies are nice and fresh! Since my first visit I've had: 1. Rice & Spice Stir Fry, $8.95. This is pretty good. 2. Pad Khing Sod, $8.95. This is also pretty good, although I seem to recall it was a bit on the sweet side. 3. Pad Kra Prow, $8.95. This might be my favorite dish here so far! Wonderful flavors (salty, with a hint of sweetness, basil, soy sauce?, pepper?). Anyway, I had this with their fried tofu (which, thankfully, isn't too oily). Very good! I'd like to try this with just veggies next time, to make it slightly lighter. They didn't have desserts available when we came the time before last, but this last time they had sticky rice with mango and also a fried ice cream. Didn't try either this time, but would like to try sticky rice with mango sometime!

Beaux T.

Yelp
there is a limited option of GOOD Asian food in Oxford, but i will recommend this place any day of the week (besides sunday & monday because they're closed)! BEST CURRY IN TOWN
google avatar

Nunu R.

Yelp
My first Asian food experience in Oxford. There isn't many in town. The place is small and very modest. Ordered the shrimp in a blanket appetizer and they were very good. Just shrimp wrapped in egg roll wrapper and deep fried. I think this is more of a Vietnamese appetizer than Thai. My family then ordered the Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mow, and Pad See Eew. All were very good. Service was ok. Not the friendliest, but not the worst I've ever had. Food came out fast. There were a lot of take out business. My daughter will be attending the university so I'm sure we will be back.
google avatar

J R.

Yelp
No pure vegetarian option for curry or noodle dishes. Be sure to ask if you are vegetarian, as there are no dishes on the menu that are vegetarian even if made with tofu. Very disappointing.
google avatar

John L.

Yelp
Great place to eat! Amazing food! However, some of the wait staff leave something to be desired. Highly recommend the panang curry and mango sticky rice. Come for the food not the staff. (well not all of the staff some are good)
google avatar

Morgan I.

Yelp
FOOD: the panang curry is great and they can make the heat to your liking SERVICE: pretty on point, their to-go is always convenient as well. AMBIANCE: traditional thai pictures make it nice and original This is cute and wonderful place. There number never seems to be working, only every now and than. So for to-go orders, they've unfortunately lost my business many times simply because their phone was not working.
google avatar

Chet M.

Yelp
Our dinners were all variations of fried rice. Be careful with their "heat scale". I ordered 1 being on the lower end and my dish was spicy. The portions are large but mainly contain a lot of rice. The food was good but the options seam a lot of variations of the same.

Rebecca E.

Yelp
My favorite Thai restaurant! Always covered up! But very worth the wait! Tom Ka soup is my favorite along with the Panang Curry. Never disappoints

Joseph P.

Yelp
A great place to grab a meal but carry out can be a hassle as their telephone is sometimes hard to get connected. Other than that their chicken pad Thai and wontons are phenomenal! When I visit Oxford in the future, this will be a must have

Casey H.

Yelp
Second best Thai in town. A very close second. Zaap has a slight edge if you don't mind a simple atmosphere.
