I recently saw *Hamilton* at the Richard Rodgers Theatre, and it was an unforgettable experience! The energy in the theater was electric from start to finish. The cast was absolutely phenomenal; their voices and performances brought the story of Alexander Hamilton to life in such a vibrant way. I was especially struck by how the blend of hip-hop and R&B made history feel so relevant and exciting. The choreography was stunning, and the minimalist set allowed the performances to shine. I left the theater buzzing with inspiration and a newfound appreciation for the characters and their struggles. If you get the chance to see *Hamilton*, don’t miss it! It’s a captivating journey that you’ll remember for a long time.

The seats are about the tightest seats I've ever had in a theater. I know that many Broadway theaters have tight seating but I don't remember anyone as tight as this. It was extremely uncomfortable as there was absolutely no leg room at all and my knees were pressing on the seat in front of me causing pain throughout the show. We were in the front mezzanine section. Aside from that the theater is an old beautifully decorated theater. They really need to do something about the seating as people are no longer as small as they were when the theater was first built.

Located right next to Times Square, the Richard Rodgers Theatre is surrounded by the bustling and vibrant energy of the city. We purchased tickets online for the renowned musical Hamilton, and the process was seamless and convenient. The atmosphere inside the theatre was absolutely fantastic, and the performance itself was nothing short of spectacular. The cast delivered outstanding performances, making it an unforgettable experience. The only downside was the size of the restroom facilities, which were quite small, leading to long lines during intermission. Overall, it's a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy world-class theatre in New York!

Google
It was such a surreal experience to finally see Hamilton in person at Richard Rodgers Theater in Agusust 2024! Our seats were way up top, and I did not find it to be uncomfortable. Sure, they were a bit tight, but once the show starts, you don't even notice it because you're having so much fun watching the show! The bathrooms were a bit out of the way, though, so make sure you plan plenty of time to use them before the show. As other reviews have mentioned, if you're looking for a drink, the bar upstairs is deserted compared to the one in the lobby.

Google
It was so cool to see Hamilton on Broadway!! Such a cool theatre! The bathroom line was hilariously long during intermission, but it moved so quick, and we were back before it started again! They have good systems in place to handle the big New York Broadway-going crowds! Such a fun experience!

Google
This was a very nice theatre. There is not a bad seat in the place, even if you were far back. It's got a high pitch, so you you see over those in front of you and can easily always see the stage. Highly recommend.

First, I want to say the obvious-Hamilton is incredible. I cried multiple times. I know the music by heart but didn't expect to be so moved emotionally when I saw this in person. The cast I saw in December 2024 was just incredible. Second- I also did not expect to be so impressed by the staff who works here. The bartenders are relaxed and kind and patient. Just really great interactions everywhere. I especially wanted to write this review because I was so moved by the compassion and generosity of the managers here. when I sat in my orchestra level seats, I found that I just could not fit in my seat comfortably-the legroom is very cramped. I knew it would be hard to make it for the long duration of the play. I asked the manager if there were any available seats that were not so cramped and he quickly moved me and my guest to different seats that worked wonderfully. Because of this kindness, we were able to watch the play comfortably and enjoy the whole thing. It was just a 10 out of 10 experience overall.

Google
Came here to see Hamilton. The venue was pretty nice, and the seats had a great view (front row of Rear Mezzanine). Only one set of restrooms for men (and same for women) at the very bottom floor of the theatre (down some stairs from the entrance). Plenty of loos (for men, at least), but it was cramped to get into. Theatre lobby got very crowded during the intermission, meaning it was difficult to push through the crowds heading downstairs while I was trying to get back upstairs to my seat. The show (Hamilton) was absolutely amazing and I'd definitely recommend seeing it!

Colleen F.

Yelp
I went to go see Hamilton. The theatre was easy to find. Checking in for the show did not take long. We were able to find our seats within a few minutes of arriving. Overall, we could hear and see the entire show pretty well. In regard to the play, amazing! I've heard such great things about this show so I had high hopes and they delivered. I was able to be educated and entertained at the same time. I would absolutely go back to the theatre

Melisa S.

Yelp
The staff at this theater are personable and willing to go the extra mile to assist you. I appreciate them not rushing you at the concession stands. Good seats from up high to down low. Love this theater a d the history that is made here with every performance.

Scarlett H.

Yelp
Theaters are not like restaurants-- you usually go to a theater for the show so once you decide you want to see a show (in our case, Hamilton) well I'm glad we are in the room tomorrow when we go in this room be more comfortable across the street hard to cuddle with you when you keep getting up and walked away from me there wasn't any choice - we had to come to this theater! So what's the point of reviewing? Well, maybe just a few tips: The theater is beautiful! Glorious, ornate, and full of old time charm. You may want to come earlier to take some photos. It's a small venue so all seats give you pretty good view of the stage. Our upper floor seats gave us pretty good views. Bathrooms - definitely not enough for its audience capacity, especially the lady's rooms. So use them before the show, or, get up and run to them before the applause stops during intermission! Lastly, the drinks and snacks inside are pretty expensive. They say they don't allow outside food but I saw many people brought in their own snacks. Overall it's pretty easy going in and out so not a bad venue at all.

Yelp
This review is for the theatre not for Hamilton, which was 5/5. The exterior and interior designs were particularly ornate, even when compared with other Broadway theaters. The eastern section is a beautiful neo-Renaissance style with brick and terracotta. I didn't have any issues with the compact seating but I'm a smaller Asian woman and my husband was on the side so he had better leg room. Even with the cheaper ticket (RMEZZ H13 & H15) higher on the upper stories, we could see the stage perfectly. A few grievances were the chaotic lines for during intermission. It was difficult to get anywhere. There was one usher that would just stand still for 10-15 seconds blocking our view several times. The rest were mindful to walked by quickly or duck out of view.

Jennifer N.

Yelp
This review is for the theatre not Hamilton. I've been to a decent amount of theatres on Broadway so I understand theatres are old and can be cramped, but this was one of my least favorite theatres in terms of overall experience. There's definitely room for improvement rather than blaming it just on the architecture of the theatre. First, the theatre is definitely beautiful. Upon stepping in, you feel transported back in time. I was a bit disappointed by how cramped the orchestra seats were, if I'm paying good money for orchestra, it better be comfortable yknow? There's probably not much they can do there to make the seats better except to make the prices cheaper. Hamilton is definitely on the pricier side compared to other broadway shows. The bathroom situation for women's is a clustercluck hot mess. I understand it's an old theatre with not a lot of stalls, but other theatres have the same challenge and they do a much better job at flowing the lines (I highly recommend seeing how the Hadestown staff manages it. The staff at this theatre is also incredibly rude unfortunately, they kept yelling at us in a very condescending tone as if we were children. Again, watch how Hadestown staff do it without the need to yell and condescend.

Tram N.

Yelp
I will throw it out there that the 5 is for the entire cast, the team that helped w/ the stage, and of course staff that helped us through the door, the concession stand, and the ushers. Yes, the prices at the concession stand are ridiculously expensive but what do you expect? We ordered a double Tito's w/ tonic, a bottled water, and a Diet Coke and my amount w/ tip was close to $70. Get only the aisle seats and you can sit far and high. You will see everything. You will also hear everything. We sat very close, but it was uncomfortable because the seats are small, it does not have cup holders, and pretty much if you bring a coat, an umbrella like we did because it was raining that day, a purse or bag, you will feel forever smushed because it felt like $400+ a ticket is not enough to upgrade these seats. I'm not cultured to appreciate Hamilton, but I do appreciate the songs, their voices... I even cried when she found out her husband had cheated and yet still had to come for him for comfort when the son died. Go Stephanie Jae Park! Her voice stood out to me the most.

Johanna B.

Yelp
Charming and ornate theater, I saw Hamilton for the first time here and was blown away. The theater was opulent albeit old but the seats were stadium style! This is a win win for all those times you struggled by watching a play between two heads through a small space. I know I've done that too many times. I had 7th row orchestra seats (including an aisle) and was thrilled with the ambience of the theater (just one mezzanine above) coupled with the excellence of Hamilton's production. If you enjoy great choreography, songs, plot, set design, vibrant costumes and talent--go see Hamilton. Just excellent. Just go. Every seat will be a good one.

Yelp
Attending a performance of Hamilton at the Richard Rodgers Theatre was a wonderful experience! From the moment the curtains rose to the final bow, the sheer talent and magnetism of the cast held me spellbound, earning a well-deserved 5/5 stars for the show itself. The venue itself was elegant and intimate. The layout of the stage room was thoughtfully designed and provided optimal sightlines and immersion for the audience. Entering the theater was smooth, and the staff seemed to have a seamless system for arrival. However, the intermission presented a bit of a challenge. The demand for refreshments and a restroom break revealed a logistical hiccup. The women's restroom line, in particular, snaked its way through the venue, causing congestion and discomfort not only for patrons who needed the restroom, but also for those of us attempting to navigate the crowded space. As someone who was just looking to purchase refreshments in the lobby, the congestion made it difficult to maneuver through the throngs of people. More importantly, it raised concerns for those with mobility needs. It's evident that the theater needs additional restroom facilities, or even a simple reconsideration of restroom design to alleviate congestion. Implementing gender-neutral restrooms could offer an immediate solution, promoting inclusivity while easing the strain on existing facilities. Nevertheless, the professionalism and courtesy of the staff shone through. Despite the chaos, they remained composed and accommodating, a testament to their dedication to ensuring a positive experience for every theatergoer. Overall, my time at the Richard Rodgers Theatre was wonderful. While there may be room for improvement in certain areas, the exceptional quality of the performance and the warmth of the staff ultimately made for a truly remarkable evening, and I look forward to returning for other shows.

Yelp
This review is for the theater itself. Not the performance of Hamilton which is 5/5. It is a smaller older theater. Ornate decoration fitting with the theater. Only one set of bathrooms on the lower level. There was an attendant to help speed up the process but very hard to get through the amount of people needed for intermission. Did have bars and merch on other levels. Seats were very small with no leg room or even room to move around and readjust. It made it hard to enjoy show at times when my body is in pain being unable to move.

Dennis S.

Yelp
If you're gonna see Hamilton on Broadway, you're going to be in Richard Rodgers. Just a few words of caution. The theater itself is beautiful. As with many Broadway theaters, you're crammed in tight in the seats. The lobby is very small, and with the merch and bar, you'll be packed in tighter than a mosh pit. Seriously, it's nearly impossible to move, much less make your place from one side to the other. Best not to bother with getting a drink or merch, it's just not worth it. The rest rooms are located a floor below the lobby. At intermission, the line for ladies runs up the stairs, through the crowded lobby, down the hall toward orchestra seating, into the theater, and down the aisle all the way to the stage. Seriously. They're used to it, so there will be ushers managing the line, including a poor dude holding a "back of the line" sign. Fortunately, at the end, there's a side exit to the street from the orchestra, eliminating the need to crowd back into the lobby.

Danyel M.

Yelp
5/5 for Hamilton!! Incredible experience and an amazing cast. They all had amazing voices and performed so well! 3/5 for the theater. The theater itself was really small. You walk in to a tiny lobby where everyone is either trying to get to their seats, get a drink, buy merch, or go to the bathroom. The actual theater is alright but nothing to be super in awe of.

Brylee M.

Yelp
This review is not for the show, but fully based on the actual theater experience. During intermission they managed the bathrooms very well, but the lady actually managing the bathroom was kind of rude. The merch is somewhat expensive, but you would expect that from a broadway show. After the show you can go to the stage door on the side of the building, and you can meet, get signatures, and take pictures with the cast members. It was an amazing show, and I hope to come back once again!

Katie R.

Yelp
Although I saw Hamilton on Disney+, I wanted to see the full live experience in NYC as a bucket list item. The theatre is beautiful and the stage production carries an atmospheric and historical presence. The cast did an amazing job and I'm so glad to have seen it in person! Towards the end of the show, Lin Manuel Miranda surprised the audience by doing a little PSA for a fundraiser and it was so exciting to be present for that!

Danielle P.

Yelp
Seeing Hamilton in the Richard Rodger's Theater was epic. Where it all began! The line to get in was out on the street and the performers were arriving while we were waiting, so that was pretty cool! The theater feels on the smaller side, but it did not disappoint. Merchandise and refreshments were also available in the lobby. We were moved to tears with our experience!

Mickel E.

Yelp
Definitely the experience could have been better. Sadly it's not and that same lady was there when our friends went and same attitude. Wasn't willing to help.

Kaya E.

Yelp
I laughed, I had goosebumps, I cried and I enjoyed every single second of seeing Hamilton at the Richard Rodgers Theatre. My experience at the theatre was a really great one. The entrance into the theater was chaotic but organized. The staff was super friendly, you could bring snacks and drinks into the theater and the bathroom although VERYYY busy was clean. The attendant was helpful with keeping the flow and order in the bathroom to get everyone in and out so you didn't miss any of the show. The only thing that I didn't like was the fact that they allowed people to get seated late. The seats are extremely tight and when someone comes to their seat late everyone in the row has to stand so that they can wiggle through. Therefore, disturbing everyone behind you... not great :/ especially since the tickets are not cheap. All in all GO SEE HAMILTON at the Richard Rogers Theatre! It was an amazinggggg show :)

Rena H.

Yelp
What an experience to see Hamilton at Richard Rodgers. This theater is beautiful and full of character. I've seen Hamilton on tour at state of the art, brand new performing arts centers... but nothing compares to the intimacy and history of Richard Rodgers. Slammed, yes. But would you expect any less? The themed cocktails were a fun unexpected gimmick that I absolutely took part in. This was unforgettable. The perfect way to kick off a trip in the greatest city in the world.

Kathleen L.

Yelp
Hamilton is one of those shows that will enhance your life and a must see. If you love history it's such a way for to relive it in new way , share it with your children . If you are anything like me then look up everything with these characters that shaped our history. The theater is gorgeous a larger array of drinks and snacks and we are on broadway plenty places to dine and enjoy. I wanted to add the cast was just amazing, the orchestra too, down to everyone who works in the theater.

Ray N.

Yelp
This was our VERY First Broadway show and boy did we hit it out of the park by picking a performance at the Richard Rodgers Theatre! Everyone was so friendly and helpful, from security, box office personnel, ticket stub checkers, ushers that walked us to our seats, and Bartenders. Even though the Theatre was packed for our Saturday afternoon matinee, everyone was fantastic. Not a single person gave us a canned answer, they answered every time like it was the first time someone had asked (warm and friendly) that question. We stopped by the Bar and were pleasantly surprised that they allow drinks and snacks to be consumed at your seats. Our bartender thoroughly explained our drink options and we went with a Double White Sangria and a Sam Adams. We both got Hamilton Cups with our drinks (at no extra cost). You know the cups are strong and of good quality when the bartender banged on the lid to make sure it was secure. Our seats were very comfortable and even though they were to the side we did not miss a single moment of the performance. The Theatre is beautiful and kept immaculate. The bathrooms did not seem very large but they moved some gentlemen in and out with no problem during intermission. We capped a fantastic afternoon by taking advantage of meeting several of the cast members at time honored tradition of The Stage Door. I warned my wife that they would probably not send out anyone too important because it was after a matinee show and they had another show in a few hours. Additionally the skies looked like it was going to pour. We were surprised that main cast members came out and spent time talking to everyone in line, taking pictures and signing autographs. It was a truly memorable day. I only regret that I have but Five Stars to give this Theatre...

Andres A.

Yelp
We visited the theater to see Hamilton and oh what an experience. This was our first time back after COVID regulations soften somewhat. Personally, we kept our masks on but it was not obligatory. It was nice to see the theater staff was offering masks for free for patrons to use if they wanted to. There was no bad seat in the house. The seats and rows were comfortably spaced so you did not feel like you were on top of your neighbor. We loved the show and would definitely go back to any other show which might be featured there.

Jamel C.

Yelp
Hamilton This show is really good. I'm enjoying myself with family. You won't be disappointed seeing history with a rapping twist.,

Lina P.

Yelp
Saw Hamilton here, there could be more bathrooms, but I'd describe the venue as cozy.

C R.

Yelp
I went to see Hamilton here! Which I had been wanting to do for Soooooo long! The theater is tiny though. During intermission the bathroom line was insane. It snaked through the lobby and double backed into the theater! The usher assured us there'd be enough time for everyone to go during intermission. Not true! I was in the bathroom and zipped in (not even 2 minutes) when I came out I heard music--apparently the show started again! I didn't even hear a "intermission is ending" sound/tone/bell or any dimming lights while we were in the bathroom either! When I came out I was shocked to hear it had started up again! Because I know the soundtrack, I know exactly how much I missed (so that's also how I know how long I took). In tragic irony, it was the song "What did I miss?!" I had to do some self talk not to be angry and enjoy the rest of the show. If I hadn't been assured by the usher, I would've just held it. There were people still behind me, so very clearly there ISN'T enough time for everyone. I was in the middle of the line too. I suspect when intermission ended the people stand in the lobby simply abandoned their journey to the restroom.

Tabitha H.

Yelp
Not a review about Hamilton (which was amazing!!), but overall the theatre. I liked my seats in the theatre. My sister and I sat in P1 and P3. Originally, we were worried our view wouldn't be as great, since we're slightly off to the side, but we were wrong. The view was excellent. In fact, it seemed like everyone on the first floor had an amazing view. The leg space is a little small. I have pretty long legs and my knees touched the seat in front of me. My fjallraven 15 inch backpack just fit under my knees. I believe they had coat check if you wanted it. The intermission overall was a disaster. The lobby is clearly too small to handle everyone being there simultaneously. Unfortunately, that's also where everything is. The women's bathroom line was a nightmare and disorderly. If you really need the bathroom during intermission, I'd suggest you memorize the last song before intermission (Nonstop), and make a mad dash to the bathroom before everyone else realizes it's intermission. That's what I did and made it to the women's bathroom with no line. Upon leaving the bathroom though, the lobby was super crowded and I had trouble trying to squeeze my way through. I heard some people giving up on using the bathroom because they wouldn't make it before intermission ended. The lines were disorderly for everyone from buying souvenirs to ordering food and drinks. You just have to assert dominance.

Kiera B.

Yelp
AMAZING experience getting to see Hamilton live and in theatre!!! I will never forget this day for rest of my life! Everyone was so talented and their voices were incredible - the show was everything I expected and more - beautiful, moving, inspiring, hilarious, ...

Yoly M.

Yelp
Every spot is a good seat! Antique theater with wonderful acoustics. Centrally located and beautiful for pictures

Monica T.

Yelp
If you're the typical NY resident trying to protect yourself from subway shovers and slashers with mace, stun guns and the like, you should know they do a security screening to get in. However the security team I dealt with the night I came to Hamilton was reasonable in permitting me to leave my self-defense items with the house manager. The house manager got me those items as soon as I walked up and knew who I was, though having a distinct look never hurts in these situations. Was it because I'm an entertainment lawyer? A really skinny woman who needs any physical advantage she can possibly get taking public transit in NYC post pandemic? The security staff (one of whom was a woman) agreed with my stance since they're also dealing with the effects of rising crime and thought my point about taking people out at the show for no reason being career ending was well founded? I don't know but that alone is 5 star treatment in my book. Aside from that interaction, this is definitely a gorgeous space and worthy of the presentation of a Broadway show. Bravo to these staff members for having hearts and using common sense.

Sue S.

Yelp
I've been dying to see Hamilton and I promised myself that when I saw it for the first time, it would be on Broadway. I don't know why this became so important to me, but over the years of waiting and the years of patiently not buying seats when Hamilton came to our town, it really did. I finally got to go and it met my very high expectations. It really was a great show. I would love to see it again. The theater itself was great - it's an older theater so there isn't a ton of leg room, etc. But for what it is, it's really beautifully maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful. I appreciated that the ushers remembered you and didn't make you show your ticket every single time. Other than the chatty cathies behind us, we had a tremendous time!

Amie N.

Yelp
Saw Hamilton here (the show is amazing of course). This theater was okay, pretty, but a bit of a miss for me due to the size and it's impact on comfort. You have leg room exactly the size of your hand (literally I opened my hand and from my pinky to my thumb was how wide the leg aisle was)- it was very hard to shift in the seats. I'm a small but tall person, my knees touched the seat of the person in front of me and if I wanted to cross or uncross my legs it was a miracle not kicking the person in the head. The theater itself was small and made for difficult traffic patterns getting around. Great show. Meh theater.

Anusha V.

Yelp
We came here on my birthday to watch Hamilton and throughly enjoyed the play. They checked the vaccination status and there was a mask mandate in place which almost everyone followed which was comforting. The seats were comfortable and the entire experience was great. You can buy water, drinks or snacks at the theatre and it was obviously priced higher similar to any other theatre. I knocked down a star because there is only one entrance to the restroom and there is a huge line to use the restrooms during intermission which is annoying. The restrooms are clean and stocked with tissues and toilet paper which was good.

Christie B.

Yelp
The theater is beautiful and Hamilton is amazing! I think that any seat is probably good as well because the theater is fairly small. My only complaint is the bathroom situation. There is only one women's bathroom and it does not accommodate the crowd. The line for the bathroom was to the stage of the performance. Unbelievable! There was no warning that Hamilton was starting back after intermission and we missed the first song of the second part of the musical. That song was my daughter's favorite song and she could not wait to hear it live and she missed the entire song because of the bathroom situation. For the money we paid for those tickets there should have been a warning and longer intermission.

Sarah H.

Yelp
Legroom was a killer... while it was a great show in a beautiful theatre, the seats were just far too cramped (and I'm not particularly tall).

Corinna W.

Yelp
Beautiful theater! From the walls, to the ceiling, to the balcony and seating, take it all in! Came here to watch Hamilton (AMAZING!!!). Line to get in was managed well and efficiently. Even the bathroom lines flowed decently, super impressed by that (this is my experience when I went so it may be different for other days). One gripe, even though I didn't experience this, was that they didn't announce how much longer you had before the second half started so I can see people missing the first song. My suggestion is to look at the time immediately when intermission starts and make sure you're back within 10-12 minutes since intermission is usually 15 minutes. There was an incident during intermission where someone in the audience took off their mask (or maybe the mask was already off prior and people only realized it when the lights were on and the show had stopped) and people were telling that person to put it back on. The usher went over and got the person to put it back on or risk being removed from the premises, to which everyone cheered, so they're strict about Covid guidelines here. Anyway we sat in front mezz, which was a great view! We wandered around during intermission to see the view from elsewhere and honestly, it seemed like any seat would have been fine.

Don I.

Yelp
Wow on every front The theater is a magical place It's from a bygone era which means the lines for the bathrooms are long and the stairs may not meet todays standards but that's what it is If you want to see Hamilton in nyc this is the theater If you see the other reviews and that resonates than best to see the show on the road If you want a classic nyc theatre experience and want to see an unbelievable show than you are in for a treat

Tasha B.

Yelp
I was totally excited to see Hamilton. It was an amazing experience. The only thing I would change is the seats. They are not very comfortable. The person sitting next to me was practically on my lap and my knees was touching the seat in front of me.

Stephanie S.

Yelp
It seems like every seat was good! The sound was excellent. The show was amazing! The key is to get the aisle seats so you can run to the bathroom at intermission.

Lauren B.

Yelp
This review is specifically for my hard of hearing friends. If you need a headset, here's where to go. When you arrive try the doors all the way to the left. You will need to go down the hallway on the left hand side when you come in. They will need your ID and will get some contact info for you. This could take up to 15 minutes if there's a line. If you have hearing aids, you need to be able to connect them to the telecoil, the regular headset will not work for you. If you don't wear hearing aids but need extra assistance, they will have a headset that will work for you. Either way, this staff member will be able to help you get connected. I will say that because this theater only seats 1400 people, I was able to turn my hearing aids up without using the telecoil and read lips which was helpful and didn't hinder any aspect of the show. At the end of the show you will be ushered out the doors but still need to return the headset to where you picked it up. I unfortunately ran into a very unfriendly usher at this theater, and overall the ushers were not helpful when it came to getting this returned. I had to right against the crowd to get back over to where I picked it up. If someone reads this from the theater it would be good for you to know that the other theaters have trained their ushers on where they can return these for the patrons as many people who utilize these machines are elderly. The theater is beautiful and any seat you have in the orchestra will be amazing and close enough that you will be able to see the microphone each actor is using without having to be 2nd row. Overall a great experience.

Rebecca K.

Yelp
What an absolutely exquisite theater! Absolutely perfect location to have Hamilton! The theater has so much lovely details. The seats were comfortable and I was in the mezzanine on the end. I was worried about my view but it was absolutely perfect! If you're in New York City and can see the show I would highly recommend it!

Bruce W.

Yelp
If you enjoy spending $500 on a Hamilton ticket be aware they sell the audience bags of candy that make all kinds of noise. RISE UP, crumple crack, cram food in mouth. LOOK AROUND, LOOK AROUND, crumble crack, crumble crack cram food in mouth, So stupid. So many things are right about this place how they allow this makes no sense.

Dominic C.

Yelp
Amazing show. It was Hamilton. Yes if you can think of a better word than amazing I would use it. Thank you Hamilton staff for an amazing evening!

Ken C.

Yelp
Watching Hamilton in the OG theater was a treat and somehow the story and music was even better than the first time we saw it! The theater itself is beautiful and the stadium-style seating in the orchestra section was terrific - no obstructions from the row in front in seeing the stage (and the party in front of us had some tall folks). Knee-room was pretty acceptable too, though the time goes by so fast you won't notice. Our seats in row O offered excellent views. The one drawback to the theater (as with most Broadway theaters) is that the only restrooms are in the lobby and, as expected, it was packed at intermission. Nevertheless, the excellent usher staff know how to handle the crowds and they quickly and efficiently set up lines and kept it moving well (but do go before the show starts and don't drink anything!). One quibble I did have was that the staff continued to sit late parties well into the first act - that was a distraction from the show and I'm sorry, but imo 1) you shouldn't be late; 2) you shouldn't seat late parties period.

Yelp
We came to see Hamilton and it is an amazing performance. A lot better than I expect it to be. Love the theater, only downfall was the bathroom.

Yelp
My husband and I went to see Hamilton on 12/28, the first show back after the short hiatus over the holidays. The inside of the theater is really pretty, especially the chandeliers. The reason for my 3 star review is the bathroom situation here. I went to the ladies room during intermission and I had raced down from the top of the theater, I didn't dawdle. By the time I got down there, the line was in the lobby and snaked through the first floor seats INSIDE the theater. I have never seen anything like it. Also they didn't have staff monitoring the line so a few people jumped the line. Since that's the only bathroom in the entire theater they should consider extending intermission another 5-10 minutes. By the time I went to the restroom, washed my hands and bolted up the stairs, I had missed half of the first song in the second act. Also it would be nice if the ushers didn't allow anyone to get up during the show. There was a person in my row who got up 4 times during the show (I'm not exaggerating). Each time they got up, they disrupted the show and caused myself, husband and others in the row to miss the show. The fourth and last time they admitted they had bad knees. Hamilton isn't a cheap experience and someone getting up that many times definitely doesn't add to the experience.

Yelp
This is possibly the worst theatre in Broadway. They sell snacks and icy drinks that people bring to their seats to munch, rattle, slurp, and crinkle throughout the shows. Imagine spending $1,000 on Hamilton tickets and then hearing these noises throughout the entire show. There is no announcement telling people not to do this, and they don't sell snacks in boxes to avoid the crinkling. It's disgusting. In addition, the aisles and hallways are way too narrow, and this creates a deeply uncomfortable cattle-call situation. Further, the ONLY women's bathroom is on the first floor so there is no way everyone who needs it can use it during intermission. If you want to see Hamilton, I suggest waiting until it's on tour and seeing it in another city and theatre.

Yelp
This was only the second broadway show I've seen. I got tickets through the Hamilton. After entering for 7 months I was able to get 2 $10 tickets. It was a great show. Not only was it great music and entertainment, I also learned more about US history than I did in a classroom! 10/10 would go again.

Yelp
Beautiful theater. We sat in the front mezzanine and had a great view. The rows are tight, as all theaters are. So we had to get up every time someone came in or out of the row. I do wish there were more formal rules set in place to not come in and out during performances, just as orchestras I have attended have had. They had merchandise available on the main floor and even though there was another merchandise area set up on the top floor, it was not open. Otherwise, we enjoyed everything tremendously!

Yelp
We came here to see Hamilton and it was a wonderful experience. We were told what time to show up for our 2 o'clock show and when we got there there was a huge line. But the line moved extremely quickly and we went past a place where we had to show our photo ID and a vaccination card. And then they were checking bags as you entered and I felt very safe. It's an old building and becomes crowded very quickly especially with the audience that Hamilton draws. But they are very efficient and move crowds along quickly. The major drawback for me was that the ladies room was down two flights of stairs and, because I have very bad knees, it was a challenge to say the least. They had a bar which had ridiculously expensive drinks and of course they were selling the Hamilton merch for enormous prices but that's just the way that goes. As we were leaving we went to the stage door and some of the actors came out to greet us which was lovely.
