Richmond Bar & Grill

I’ll be in El Segundo for the next six months and kept hearing Richmond Bar and Grill was a must. It didn’t disappoint. Cool, laid-back vibe, super welcoming staff. I spotted the peanut butter bacon cheeseburger on the menu and thought—really? Asked the bartender, and she swore by it. Gave it a shot, and wow. It was insanely good. Fries were solid too. Perfect meal all around. No doubt I’ll be making this a weekly stop.

The food and beer tasted great! It was very near the airport, which makes it convenient as a stop over when meeting someone before catching your flight. The crew who attended to our table was very friendly and helpful. Parking can get a little crowded during peak hours, but we were able to find a spot very quickly. Definitely a place I would come back to when I visit Los Angeles again in the future 🫶🏻

This is a 5 star local casual bit of a “dive bar” and I mean that in the most complimentary way possible. Its casual and fun and unpretentious, any the beer is great and the food is good. We love the fried pickles appetizer! The “back patio” also has a really cool covered outdoor “private/open” room. Would be great for a group event for a dozen friends! Servers are very fast! Love this place and we will be back. VictorB

I just had one of the worst takeout experiences, ever. This review is not meant to embarrass anyone or intended with malice, but I do hope it’s taken seriously. In fact, everything about this establishment is amazing, including the drinks and people. Sadly, I will not be returning because the wings were absolutely disappointing and quite literally made me sick trying to eat them. The sauce appears to be literal water with hot-sauce essence. On my two-block walk home, everything I ordered was damaged because the sauce was basically water and the container was made out of paper. I ordered a grilled cheese and that was ruined and I spent more time cleaning up my dinner table than I did eating. I tried giving the benefit of doubt by calling to ask if it’s normal to have watery sauce and soggy/rubbery wings that barely look cooked and sadly the answer was “yes it’s normal”. I was hoping for some customer satisfaction remedy but no luck. My GF and I literally threw out over $60 worth of food. I did enjoy the canned beer I had to pour myself. Chips were great too.

Great neighborhood spot in El Segundo with local brews and some good ol pub grub. The staff is always friendly and on top of it. Food may take a little bit to come out when it gets busy, but it's good and always tasty. They're famous for their house-made chips, which are slices of massive potatoes. Parking is easily the worst part of the deal - street parking fills up quickly after 5ish on weeknights, so plan some extra talk to walk around the pleasant area.

Always a great time at our local bar & grill. Love the fact that we can walk there and the service is always dialed in and very friendly!!! Food is great and they have a number of local brews on tap. Never a bad time!

I was last in this location back in 96. I was stationed at Los Angeles Air Base in El Segundo. We used to come eat here from time to time. Well, the place and food are just as good now as they were then! The place is nice and location great with lots of parking nearby. Thanks for bringing back some great memories and times with friends!

Such a cool space! The back deck is cozy and the outdoor heaters made it very comfy. Food was great and beer selection was amazing! Good reviews from dog eaters, chicken sandwiches and turkey club.

Attended a private party here. Beer was cold Food was tasty. Servers were friendly and attentive. The decor and ambiance was great for the rowdy birthday party. Would recommend for sure.

First time here! I never knew El Segundo has a cool downtown! We were treated by our vendor to this local bar and grill and it instantly became our favourite spot! It's very neighbourhood-y vibe which is fun! The food! Must try! THEIR CHIPS! Love the crispiness and flavour of it! Also I got to try their local favourite "Peanut Butter Bacon Cheese burger"! Yep you've read it right! Peanut butter on cheese burger, i thought it wasn't heard of but this place made it possible! And that they asked you to trust them that the combination works! Haha and I fell in love with it! Its so good, that balance on flavour works! The sweet peanutty tastes compliments the salty bacon and burger patty plus the tomato waters down the two main ingredients! Love it! You gotta try it!

This feels like a remnant from another time. A neighborhood bar with a comfy, relaxed vibe that feels like a gathering spot for friends who have decades of history. The wine was tasty and a bottle cost $24. Such a fantastic deal when I was starting to get used to being ripped off with a glass costing $17 elsewhere. We got a couple of appetizers and they were polished off toute suite. Friendly service without being in your face all the time. Clean and casual decor. I don't live in El Segundo but I'm absolutely coming back.

I used to really like this place. But it's always uncomfortably cold now because of the open door to the outside. Everyone there had their coats and hats on! My tuna melt was cold with a slice of cheese that wasn't melted. And my friend asked for a Rueben on rye and he got sour dough. We would have asked them to fix it but it was just too cold to stay any longer. Friendly staff but food was meh and atmosphere not warm and inviting.

The food here is really great, and they have a good selection of Wine, Beer, and Cider. The burgers are really good and a nice variety. I love getting the chips instead of the fries, trust me on this they are sooo good. The patio is so nice because you can sit outside and enjoy yourselves, and there's lots of space so it's a great place for groups. Parking is also easy in Downtown El Segundo, and the service here has always been top notch and very friendly,in true El Segundo fashion!

This is a great spot to hang out after work. For my single girlfriends, this is your place. At least on a Thursday night. Fun music. Good food.

Driving down main street El Segundo at night, you'll find a mixture of upscale restaurants and divey-type sports bars. Neither one of these your thing? Well, just one street over you'll find the most delightful old bar that serves up some delicious dishes and refreshing libations, while being serenaded by a tasteful selection of Indie Rock tunes. We highly recommend the Onion Rings to start and the Fiesta Burger, which our waitress recommended. And since it was a rather chilly evening, the soup of the day, which was Enchilada Soup, warmed our tummies and our spirits. Cons: The girl who took our drink order was a little gruff, but our server was wonderful.

As part of a City of El Segundo food tour, we started at the Old Town Music Hall, where we were graced with watching an old Felix the cat film accompanied by the Mighty Wurlitzer organ. We walked over to the Richmond Bar & Grill. We passed the large outdoor front patio and were led through a narrow corridor, along a wall, through a tunnel and emerged in a fantastic refurbished garage with echoes of an El Segundo of the past. Okay, I made up the tunnel but the back patio had televisions watching the Angels and Dodgers opening games and was filled with baseball fans. The garage had old style chairs and sofas with a serving area in the back. The open garage door spilled out into the back patio. There were many appetizers and there famous pickled potato chips as well as sliders and other goodies that our gang enjoyed but I could only eat the chips. They did have a great selection of beers and wine. For me being Gluten Intolerant, I appreciated a kind server getting me a wonderful salad with avocado that kept this lightweight & cheap date alcohol wise in check. Salad in hand I was able enjoy the libations and the cozy homey atmosphere created at this fun joint.

Always a great experience, staff is amazing, food is delightful, great beer selection and the setting makes you feel at home. Love coming here whenever to relax and catch up.

Awesome service! Fish and chips were great! It was Tuesday night and the only place open at 10pm for a bite to eat. I was grateful for the tasty food, the good service and it was nice and clean.

Nice little bar and grill right in the heart of El Segundo one street off of Main Street. Service was quick and the food was decent. I had the cheeseburger and fries combo. Fries tasted like bigger In N out fries and the burger was on a nice soft bun. Cooked well and was very tasty. Will def return for my basic burger fix

great neighborhood joint to catch a drink. not a full bar, but, great quality of adult beverages that they do serve. food is typical bar fare. service is good. space is utilized very well. the area in the back provides great aesthetics for groups gatherings. definitely recommend.

Eddie makes the best Wedge Salad in the Southbay! Service is always friendly and attentive.

A perfect little hideaway gem. I have had a few gatherings at this location, particularly I like the room in the back. Perfect space to mingle and have several conversations going without it getting too noisy. Staff is very friendly and very quick with the food. It does seem that they are getting a little bit more popular as last time we had a gathering, we only had the space for a limited time and there was another group coming in after us. My only wish is that they had more drink choices at the bar.

Came here for lunch, and had a good crowd for lunchtime , there was a table that just opened up as we walked in but they still had a few seats at the bar open to sit too . They also have covered patio seating. The place was very clean and service was great, even with her bartending and serving tables. Very friendly and checking making sure we were good or needed anything. I thought I'd try one of the locals favorites on the menu - Peanut Butter Bacon Cheddar Burger- Served with homemade chips or fries. Sounded kind of crazy to have peanut butter on a bacon cheeseburger but surprisingly it worked well . It was sweet and savory and the bacon was nice and crispy. I would order again . I had 1/2 fries and 1/2 chips and both were fresh cut potatoes and we're really food. My friend ordered the Chili Burger-Patty covered with 4-alarm chili, jack, and cheddar cheese with onions. It was a fork & knife kind of chili burger , as it was over flowing with chili :). Wasn't too hot spicy, it has a little l kick. Those that can't handle it too spicy , you'll be ok! It is good just not hot spicy . They have a good selection of beers too! I would come back, nice and causal & everyone is friendly & liked to try other food & beer on the menu.

Today had the opportunity to stop in and have drinks and a meal at Richmond Bar and Grill. What a fantastic place with an amazing group of people working there- I'd highly recommend this establishment

They got rid of my favorite sandwich, The Traitor's Special, which was a huge bummer. The novelty of adding peanut butter to a burger wore off a bit. Definitely worth trying once, but when I'm craving a burger there's other spots in mind. Staff is awesome as always so it's still a good spot for drinks. Just not thrilled with the eats anymore. Great little place in El Segundo that recently went through an ownership change. Looks like they used to be cash only, but not any longer which is great because who carries cash all the time :-) They are beer and wine only but they do have some decent craft options on tap. In terms of food, the Fiesta Chicken Sandwich wasnt' bad. Chips are homemade. Service was friendly. A great little spot in El Segundo with both a front and back patio.

Great service and Staff....Disappointing Food!!! Had a recent visit to this establishment after many years away and sadly the day I came on a Sunday afternoon the food was not up to standard. I could have gotten a better cheeseburger from the high school football games. And the chips I've once loved were stale and chewy. Maybe I picked the wrong day and time to visit after years away but dang the chewy chips were a big let down beyond not having a full bar. The only saving Grace was the friendly service of the two staff members but really disappointed in food quality for this visit.

Really good burgers, I tried the killer burger and fries. Burger was the perfect size and sausage had a lot of flavour.

Lots of great revolving beers, wine, and non alcoholic drinks. The food may look like bar food but oh man its so good. Try the Tuna Melt. Even better than the always updated beer list and their food menu, is the staff and atmosphere. Everyone is so nice. HIghly recommend.

This restaurant was recommended to us by our next door neighbor. And I must admit that I was intrigued by this establishment before the recommendation. Just the delicious smell coming from outside during our walks was inviting. With the recent Stay at Home order throughout California, I happily took advantage of finally putting phone order in at Richmond Bar & Grill. Located on Richmond Street, the old main thoroughfare, before Main Street. A local fav, this restaurant has been an El Segundo staple since 1976. Inside, old memorabilias lined the wall. The same lady that took my order greeted us with a warm welcome. My boyfriend had the burger and it was delicious. Moist, perfectly seasoned, with the sausages adding on an extra layer of flavor. Having the chips really was a treat. I went for a lighter choice with the Southern fried chicken salad. Delicious and as it was not heavily breaded, so you won't feel too guilty. Looking at their menu, there's certainly a lot more I'd need to try. Like their Peanut Butter Bacon Cheddar Burger. Yup you read that right. Can't wait to try that. Until next time.

First time at the Richmond bar and Grill I thought the food was good. The pricing however seemed over the top - the fish and chips came with two pieces of small fish and fries no slaw no salad nothing else and that was $14.50 but we wanted onion rings instead of fries so they charged us another $4.00 for six onion rings (the fries would have covered half the basket btw) total paid $18.50 for what we got it was not worth it. And to top it off they have no hard liquor yet so I was completely disappointed!

I've been here twice. The chicken sandwich and the blue cheese bacon burger are both really good, none were greasy and the beef on the burger was definitely better quality. Service was fast and friendly on both occasions, I'll be coming back soon.

We went for their Sunday brunch and were pleasantly surprised! Good quality and creative options including a spicy, tasty taco trio with eggs, sausage, bacon, and steak. Also a fresh, healthy version of avocado toast on a thick piece of squaw bread hit the mark. They try their best to separate tables for Covid but it may be too snug for some. A great breakfast option!

Ugh...I just had the worst Ruben sandwich ever. It was takeout so I couldn't even try and get a discount on this inedible sandwich. The meat was terrible, tough, full of fat and chewy nastiness. And the Swiss cheese did not taste like Swiss at all. I suspect it was a low quality white faux cheese. Waste of $14.50 and what's worse is being hungry after paying $32 for a takeout lunch. Service was good and friendly but the current ownership is cutting corners in the kitchen all whilst pushing up their menu prices. Extremely disappointed and not rating 1 star because the other sandwich was ok.

A nice local bar in El Segundo. We came for off the menu, and got the Chipotle Wrap with Steak. The wrap was delicious, and a large serving. I would definitely get it again. The fried chips and fries that came with it were both delicious, I would choose the chips if I came again. Only critique is that service was a bit slow, but our waitress was clearly very busy and very sweet. Would recommend for the local bar vibes and food!

Wow, it is so refreshing to know you have a bar & grill in your community like this one. This place reminds me of the famous Joe Jost's in Long beach, but with a full menu. What a great vibe. You feel at home here. A real treasure. Schooners, hot dogs, burgers/sandwiches, Dodger fans, award winning chili, secret back patio, homemade potato chips, .. all on a quaint main street. Oh doctor...

I have loved Richmond since I lived in El Segundo long ago. This is such a nice casual place to eat & drink. So they've recently gone under new management & i'm thrilled that they are maneuvering through this pandemic. The service has always been good & friendly but if possible, it's even better than it used to be! They have beer & wine, some great additions to the menu. You have to try the fried pickles ,,,, delish !! We split the burger & fish & chips,, both were great! Lia waited on us & she couldn't have been nicer !! Way to go Lia, Zach & Riley !! Great job with the place ,,, i wish you continued success on an "old fav" of mine,,, All indications seem to predict you're off to a great start !!!!

We feel like family at the Richmond! As regulars, they know us and our orders. Great waitresses who will sit down with you at your table to chat like you're long lost friends. Great bar food. You can hear the fryer freshly frying onion rings, fries and onion rings. Be sure to ask, if you're vegetarian like I am, for their off menu Impossible Burger/Beyond Burger (not sure which) as a sub. I particularly love their patty melt and wedge salad. Fresh beer too. Highly recommend as a treat or regular hang out.

I have a friend from Idaho who visits L.A. occasionally for what I call a culture binge, taking in live theater, classic films, museums, book stores and eateries plus foodie items from Trader Joe's and Cost Plus World Market. One favorite is the Old Town Music Hall in El Segundo, which shows classic movies and has a Wurlitzer theater pipe organ. For years my friend and I had searched in vain for a suitable eatery nearby to eat at before taking in a show. Eatable food in El Segundo proved elusive. Until he suggested we try the bar/grill across the street. This was based on the positive reviews on Yelp. The first visit we were pressed for time so I just got some chicken tenders while my friend got a burger with fresh made chips. I thought the tenders were great plus my friend gave me some chips which were unlike any I had eaten. It made me eager to someday return without the need to rush and take in the sights and sounds. A Buster Keaton silent movie was the occasion to return (solo) to OTMH. I made sure to arrive early enough to enjoy a leisurely visit to the bar/grill. After settling into one of the cushioned benches along the wall I absorbed the surroundings. The very retro vibe is driven by the vintage signs and advertising plaques. The sort of stuff you see the guys on American Pickers salivate over. It is a very casual friendly place. A lot of the patrons are regulars and many bring the kids. This is not a solitary hard drinking type establishment but more like a local pub. The waitress was very welcoming and extremely professional. I don't drink but I will say I was impressed at the diversity of specialty brews listed on the blackboard. My usual beverage is iced tea and theirs is excellent. Coming in the sandwich board on the sidewalk said the soup of the day was Chicken Tortilla. That is one of my favorite, and it is one of those items (like cole slaw and Kung Pao Chicken) where the approaches to it varies greatly from one eatery to another. Since I wasn't pressed for time I decided to see what theirs is like. It was very tomatoey and smooth, with a richness but not too spicy and benefits from tasty chunks of chicken and veggies plus shredded cheese atop it. One the best I have had. Since they are well known for the burgers I went for the double cheeseburger. When it came I was impressed at the brioche bun, something more substantial than the flimsy ones even many upscale eateries use. Nothing worse than a bun falling apart before you have eaten half the burger. They do it right. The meat! Wow! The taste was incredible. Juicy, a depth of flavor. Each bite was pleasurable. I don't remember when I enjoyed so much eating a burger. The reputation is well deserved. It comes with a pile of their signature fresh made potato chips. They are crisp, not oily and thick. Biting them comes with a satisfying crunch. Great compliment to a great burger. Without hesitation I will be back when I am attending events at the OTMH. Looking forward to it. Friendly atmosphere and staff

Been coming here for a few years since moving to El Segundo. The homemade chips are good. The burgers, "killer style" with the spicy sausage, are good too.

I finally tried their famous Peanut Butter Bacon burger after hearing so many good things about it! And to be clear, I liked it and finished the whole thing. The peanut butter doesn't overpower the overall taste and the fact that that the burger has bacon makes it totally do-able. I would definitely come back. A great spot to eat when in El Segundo.

Sorry, I had fish and chips here . They were like glorified fish sticks, with horrible french fries. Embarrassing food.

neat place! came for a meet and greet for alumni group and it's a good place. the back area is private and if it rains provides good coverage. we were offered fried pickles, chicken tenders, sliders and a salad. everything was delish! staff super friendly. will be back.
