A place to host any fine art performance. The stage is equipped with ample focussed lighting, enhanced audio, good visibility from both ground and first floor seating area. There is always assistance for directing both indoors and outdoors. Outdoors have a patio space too. One of the best places in the city with ample parking. You will definitely love history any musical or dance events. There will be no regrets.

I've seen a couple concerts here, it's wonderful, the sound is great, there are no bad seats. It's a very intimate setting, and such a lovely thought out building. The only thing that sucks is the parking, so be aware.

Attended a celebration of life for a boyhood friend. Venue was clean, well looked after and parking was very good. Food and staff were excellent. A great place to see old friends. One drawback was the GTA traffic.

Yelp
The Centre is a little north of Yonge and Major Mackenzie and there is a parking lot on the west side of the building with 250 spots. The box office is on the left upon entering the building. There's also coat check and a small concession stand on the opposite side. The lobby is a spacious couple of stories with art hung on the wall. Each piece of art has a tag associated with it that informs you of the artist, title of artwork, medium, price and size. There were ushers ready to answer any questions and direct audience members scattered throughout the lobby. I saw second row from the stage on the left. It's nice to be close but you have to look up since the stage is higher. Also, the speakers are right in front of you so protect your eardrums with earplugs or sound isolating earphones. There is a gradient to the seating so that should help with everyone being able to see the stage. There is balcony seating with seats extending all the way to the front along both sides.

Yelp
I was here previously for Yelp event and got to see their ballroom (or second stage), but I was able to visit last week and see a proper concert in the main theatre. As others said, there's a lot of parking here. I arrived a few minutes late and the show was nearly sold out so I missed out on getting a spot in the lot, but I found free street parking. There didn't seem to be too many cars parked on the street, so it looks as though the venue's parking can manage most vehicles even for a full show. The foyer/lobby area is quite nice and very pleasant with huge windows lining one side of the building. Pretty standard cash bar - though they do allow drinks inside the theatre. There's noticeably less seating than a couple other suburban theatres I've been to (i.e. Mississauga and Brampton), but I'm not sure how often sellouts occur at these venues anyway, so the smaller seating makes it more intimate and improves your view if you happen to be in the back or the balcony. I can't speak too much to the amount and quality of shows they bring in, so this review is strictly limited to the venue itself. But with this theatre, or any other comparable in the GTA, hopefully locals take a look and take in some of the shows which are often worthwhile, affordable and super-convenient.

Yelp
I came here for a ballet recital and last night for the Jessica Holmes Comedy Show. This is right on Yonge street, and there are tons of parking spots available in the back. The performing arts had a nice theatrical entrance with bulbed lights for the entrance of the centre. When we walked in, we were greeted by wonderful staff that had an usher-like uniform. The Centre itself, isn't huge, but it has a beautiful glass exterior. The box office is found when you walk in from the parking entrance. I do wish that the lines for the box office is more clearly indicated. I recalled trying to purchase my tickets yesterday, and the person waiting in line was standing immediately behind me, which made me a little uncomfortable. Thankfully, one of the staff came out and helped sort this problem. The seats inside the theatre are very comfortable and it has great air conditioning in the summertime. All of the equipment are well functioning and there are many staff who help people find their seats in the theatre.

Yelp
I've been to the RH Centre for the Performing Arts a few times including last night's York Symphony Orchestra's performance of Showtime at the Movies. The staff are friendly, the seats are comfortable and there's plenty of parking behind the building. The lobby and washrooms were clean too. We made the mistake of selecting seats too close to the front. From row G, we couldn't see all the symphony members because they were hidden behind their music stands. At intermission, we moved to empty seats in row M and thoroughly enjoyed being able to see everything on stage.

Yelp
Cozy and classy, that's what I will describe The Richmond Hill Centre For the Performing Arts. Came here for an Outdoor Summer Jazz performance, great performance and everything set up well and organized! Even an cash bar available if you want a glass of wine while enjoying the great music and the cool summer breeze.......... Free and ample parking right behind the centre.

Yelp
I came back when I was in the neighbourhood and the cleanliness is still an issue. Im not sure why they don't try to give a great experience in every aspect ... no one likes a gross bathroom. I would have liked to award a 4 star for Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts but my recent attendance for an event left me puzzled on how it could let their facility fall into such mess. I'll explain more later but onto the positives... I applaud how the different cities of the GTA try to bring in more culture and appreciation for the performance arts. You have Living Arts in Mississauga, Rose Theatre in Brampton, and the RHCPA is Richmond Hill. There are a lot of positives going for RHCPA and the residence seem to appreciate it. The parking lot (which is supposedly about 250 spots and free.. woo!) was completely filled up for the evening. So RH'ers definitely use the theatre. I would first say that it's a cosy, intimate, and modern space in a quaint street in Richmond Hill. I wasn't expecting a venue jutting out of the cute historical looking area. I like how there's free parking... it's not easy to bring the masses to one spot without making it frustrating to find parking. RH does it well with the free large lot behind it. The space itself has big open vertical spaces which gives an airiness that can hide the smaller footprint. Though I was there in the evening, I can see easily how the large vast windows would being in lots of great natural light that brightens up the space. For the staffing of the venue, I appreciated how there was several of them placed in the hallways to help with any questions. So here's the reason why I docked a star ... the women's washroom and for once, it wasn't about the wait. This is totally about the mess in there. Being in other spots, I know patrons are the reason for the insane mess left behind but I often see staff in there cleaning it up as it goes or right after an intermission. But this spot, before both a performance and an event starts up... it looks like a bathroom tissue bomb went off or a herd of kittens went in and terrorized every toilet tissue roll and shredded everything and left it on the ground. You could not walk a single spot without stepping on at least 2 pieces of tissue. Ew. Hopefully they learn to clean more often so it doesnt leave a bad last impression on patrons. It's a simple basic offering ... a clean washroom while enjoying something beautiful as music, drama, or event a fun event with fellow GTAers.

Yelp
The Richmond Hill Centre For The Performing Arts is the premiere destination for performances of all kind in Richmond Hill and York Region (matched only by the Flato Markham Theatre). By summer it's street side courtyard is home to numerous outdoor performances and musical performances such as the Summer Jazz series - a free weekly performance to anyone who wants to stop by. For the remainder of the seasons, the RHCPA is home to legends of the stage and song and film, as they consistently provide a seasonal program that appeals to guests of all ages from various interest groups. Just this past year you could catch award winning independent films which debuted at TIFF, see R&B icons BoyzIIMen perform live (ya! In Richmond Hill) or even catch figure skating legend Elvis Stojko bring his skating styles back in a whole new inline-performance! For those into architecture, you'd be interested to learn that the same architect who designed the Four Seasons Performing Arts Centre in Toronto was also responsible for the design of the RHCPA. This is why its two floor, open concept, glass encased design bares such a strong resemblance to it's bigger Toronto relative which is home to the Canadian Opera Company (COC). The 2013/14 season is just getting underway and I recommend you check out their box office for upcoming shows this season - I know I will!

Yelp
While attending the Sloan concert, I was pretty impressed with the setting of RHCPA. Although smaller than the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga, the RH's version is newer and has no fuss street level parking right behind the building! (LAC has underground, although it's fairly easy to navigate as well.) I liked the clean contemporary design of the building, interior, and the actual auditorium. The foyer contains some pretty impressive art. Not sure if they're from local artists, but it would seem that way. Washrooms were new, clean, and large. Nice, cozy vibe to this place!

Yelp
The Award night for The finest of our Elite members from both Toronto ad the GTA met at the Richmond Hill Centre for the performing arts. A room was reserved for the occasion . Wine flowed and the food was catered by Thats Sappore. Italian Food was plentiful and the evening ended with sweet cannoli's: The stage was set, it looked like Oscar Night. Everyone came dressed in their party attire. An intimate event but well organized. Kudos to Kristian and Evelyn for joining forces and making this a fun event for all

Yelp
I visited recently for a school recital. It was my first time and I was quite happy with the decor. The seats are nice and you get a good view of the stage from pretty much any seat in the house. I do wish they had surfaces or pockets to put programs/print-outs in as there isn't too much space for that in the seats. The upstairs seating aren't exactly labelled clearly either so it may take a few more minutes than usual when trying to find your seat.

Yelp
I have attended two private events here at the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts and neither have disappointed me. The staff here are super attentive and do a great job at keeping an organized space. The venue itself is very spacious and beautiful. The lights they have outside their building never fail to grab my attention whenever I am driving down Yonge Street. When I came here for The Award night for Yelp Elites I was really impressed at how orderly and clean everything was.The room reserved for us was also decorated very nicely and it was just a pleasant experience all together.

Yelp
I live in Richmond Hill and honestly, I pass by this place so often I never really took notice of this building. They have a beautiful exterior which I love! Yesterday was my first time stepping foot in the Richmond Hill Centre for the performing arts and I must say, I love how clean and modern this place is. We had the 10 year of yelp event here and from the exterior it really didn't look that big, but once you step in it's a decent size. I never noticed they had a patio, but wow! I love how it's lay out, If I knew about this place sooner, I would had held my wedding ceremony/reception here. It's relatively quiet for a busy street like younge, occasionally there's the fire sirens going off, but overall, it's still pretty quiet. I love the vibe of this place, and now that I know how amazing this place is, I will def. come back!

Yelp
This is one of the smaller venues I've been to, but I appreciated the following aspects: a) Comfy seating (compared to some of the older theatres in Toronto). b) Free parking at the back (so you don't have to park on the street) c) Relatively clean d) Rows were appropriately slanted, so you didn't have to look over anybody. e) Acoustics were fairly good. The only downside is the lack of permanent beverage area. Otherwise, a great place to enjoy a show

Yelp
Rather small venue but just about all the seats are good ones which is important. They have a nice balcony and a very clean atmosphere. They book a large variety of events which keeps things interesting.

Yelp
First time here meeting some Yelp friends for an evening of laughs.. Sandra Bernhard was the entertainment tonight. Now aside from the entertainer, I rather liked the theater. It was a small intimate two level seating area the stage was framed nicely by old school thick curtains. The sound traveled well and there was no technical difficulties with sound or lighting. The staff was very helpful in taking your ticket and finding your seat, even late comers were escorted to their seats quietly. Although, they were singled out for coming late by our uncouth comedian. lol The seats weren't anything special but for two hours they were comfy enough. The halls in the lobby were well light and spacious. Everything was easily accessible and bonus points for this nurse spotting the Defibrillator on the wall before seeing the bathrooms ;)

Yelp
Had come here a while back for a Yelp event, but this was the first time coming back for an actual show. If I was able to rate the actual Cirque Mechanics: Pedal Punk show (and I wish I could), I would give it a 5 STARS for the creativity of the choreography, skill and showmanship of the performers, innovation of the set design, and energy generated by the music. RHCPA deserves some credit for bringing us this great act, and hopefully they will have Cirque Mechanics Back for a follow-up to Pedal Punk. The show aside, the layout of this place is fairly well designed and modern. The seating inside the show area is quite spacious, with a good view of the stage even from the balcony. The staff at will-call and directing traffic were friendly and efficient. I was pleasantly surprised that the centre actually offered complimentary snacks (desserts mostly) and coffee for guests to partake in before the show and during intermission - this was nice, as you definitely don't see this from downtown Toronto performance centres. Should mention there's also an outdoor stage and lounge area, where I assume the centre hosts performers during the summer months. Will keep a lookout for more events and performances here.

Yelp
Like many other posters here... I have been a Richmond Hill local for over a decade and was always aware of the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts, but had never been inside. A group of friends and I purchased to see an amazing local band... USS.. (Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker). We purchased 8 tickets, front row on the balcony. This location is extremely easy for those looking to make a night out of an event, being a 9 iron away from a favourite local watering hole, the Falcon and the Firkin. After having some food and beverages, we simply walked over to the Richmond Hill Centre. This wasn't any ordinary rock show.. it was like seeing your favourite rock band, at an Opera Hall. We were quickly ushered in, and through security, all hassle free, and once inside... we noticed the dark beer stations set up (woohoo). The concert consisted of all the in and out access you needed, numerous beer locations set up. And you could bring your beer into the concert with you. Nice wooden concert area with soft seats. It was so amazing. I love this place. If you have a chance to see a performer you love at this location, JUMP ON IT. It was great. I was so pleased with the event, the location, the service, the venue... on and on I could go.

Yelp
Big parking lot, memorable performances with high sound quality, tiny bar, ATM, what else could you ask for?

Yelp
Saw Brent Butt and a couple of plays and school performances. This is a beautiful venue well kept and no bad seats. The staff are friendly and management are accommodating. Ticket prices are a little on the high side but it's a new venue. Highly recommend!!!!!
