If there is a Richmond hotel in that city, it will be my choice hotel. That’s why I become a member. Accumulating points gets you $ discount on your next stay (not sure how it works, I just leave it to the front desk).||This is a higher grade business hotel with nicer facilities and better maintenance. I have stay in a couple of Richmond hotel and find their service, and layout consistent. No 2nd guessing whether I get the right size room or any other surprises. ||The room and bathroom we had was of decent size. We stayed for 3 nights. ||The only issue we had was for a double bed it was a small bed and somehow the Japanese like to stuck the double bed into a tight corner thus leaving the person crawling out of bed. There was enough space in the room to move the double bed out a bit. If I had a choice, twin beds would make more sense. ||Room was quiet and sleep was peaceful.||The hotel lobby is located on the 1st floor and there is an escalator and lift to the 1st floor. The staff spoke minimum English but were helpful with restaurant reservations and directions. The checkin was efficient. ||We did not partake in any meals at the hotel as the hotel location is within a stone throw away from lots of eateries and convenience shop. ||The location of hotel is between the train station and castle.||There is a charge for overnight parking. The parking is on the next block, 50m away from entrance.

Stayed at Richmond Hotel Matsumoto. Parking is ¥1,200 overnight at the automated lot next door, with an attendant to help, very convenient. The lobby is on the second floor, and they offer a range of free amenities to pick up, including face masks. The room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed and a proper bathtub. Good value and location for a city stay.

Clean, convenient, and comfortable! Great location — just a short walk to FamilyMart and nearby restaurants. Everything you need is right around the corner. The hotel offers automated parking, which might be unfamiliar to some, but we found it super convenient — no need to search for a spot. Just note: parking fee is ¥1,200 per night. The amenities are fully stocked, so don’t worry if you forget something. Be sure to grab the bath salt at the lobby — after a long day of walking, soaking in a hot bath with the lavender scent was heavenly. 🛁💜 The room is spacious (27 sqm) — we could open three large suitcases at the same time with no problem. Highly recommended!

Thanks for a wonderful stay – central location, spotless rooms, and a kind, helpful team. Matsumoto is a fantastic town to visit, and having the annual Crafts Fair while I was here made it even more special. The talent and dedication of the artisans were truly impressive – and many shops in town showcase these handmade pieces, which to me are nothing less than works of art.

Comfortable, quiet & convenient I requested and was given a room on a high floor with a nice view over the CBD to the mountains. The window was quite large and I was able to open it a little for fresh air. The bed was comfortable. The front of the hotel is not on a busy street so it is relatively quiet, yet it is a short walk to the station. There are plenty of eateries and convenience stores close by. I had breakfast one morning and it was plentiful and offered good variety - however I noticed as it got within an hour of closing a lot of the food was not replaced when it ran out. Air conditioner was easy to operate & pretty quiet. I would stay here again if I got it for a similar budget price. I travelled early December - single room.

I had one of the best sleeps here. The bed was comfortable and hotel was pleasantly quiet, although very central. The service was diligent. I think they had a 3hr daily service if you needed that. They even had a section at reception for self service bathroom supplies including skin care- that was thoughtful! The buffet breakfast wasn’t good. I tried it one day and skipped the other days.

Hotel is centrally located between the river and train station, with a good size cafe located on ground level. Indoor car park is available for a fee of 1,200 yen. Many restaurants are scattered around and within walking distance. Will stay here again when we return to Matsumoto

Clean, neat, and spacious room. The cool AC, the hot shower, all works well. Electric plugs are generously placed everywhere in your room so you can charge multiple gadgets and powerbanks simultaneously. Surprisingly spacious for Japan. Great for long family trip, in which large suitcases are involved :) The staff were nice and hospitable.
