We stayed at the Richmond Hotel Premier Asakusa International for our five night visit to Tokyo. The location is prime, as it's close to Senso-ji Temple, across the street from a huge Don Quijote, near the Asakusa station, and accessible by the limousine bus from Narita airport. We paid $120USD/night through hotels.com. Check in was easy and the employees spoke perfect English. Check out was even easier, through an automated kiosk in the lobby.
The hotels in Japan all provide amenities that we are not accustomed to in the US, which was really fun. We got pajamas and slippers, and I really enjoyed the full bathtub for soaking after our long days of exploring. We also had a standard sized mini fridge in our room. In the lobby, they have an amenities bar where you can get toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, combs/brushes, razors, shaving cream, hair ties, bath salts, wash cloths, and more.
The rooms are definitely "cozy" and I have no idea how you'd manage with full-sized luggages. For two adults with two carry on suitcases and two backpacks, it took us a bit to arrange ourselves and our stuff in the standard double room. The hotels.com listing indicates this room can sleep 3 people, but at 194 square feet I don't know how that works. Since we travel light, it wasn't a big deal, but pay attention to room sizes!
We had a great view of Tokyo Skytree from the elevator area on the 9th floor, which made for some awesome photos both during the day and at night.
The hotel is in the same building as a Uniqlo as well as a few restaurants. (We tried the conveyor belt sushi spot - it was the worst food we ate in Tokyo! But fun to try, and cheap.) They offer a breakfast buffet, which we also tried one day. It was okay and they had plenty of options, but we preferred other food outside of the hotel for breakfast.
Overall the value for this hotel was good and I was happy with this choice for our stay.
