The hotel is situated close to the Yamagata train station, but away from the crowded area of the city. There are two convenience stores close by. The hotel offers a semi-automated check-in/out. The lobby area is nice and tidy and is on the same floor as the breakfast area. The breakfast is an open buffe with great, tasty western and traditional dishes. The drinks and icecream machines are free of charge during the day. On the 9th floor there is a microwave oven, a vending machine and an ice dispenser. Unfortunately I accidentally booked a smokers room and the smell of cigarettes in the room was quite heavy even if the hotel room is equipmed with an air purifier. The air purifier filteres were quite dusty, I had to clean them, but that did not help. The bed was reasonably comfortable, but the hard pillow had lumps and I did not use it. The room had a fridge, a kettle, a charging port with all possible socket types and also an ironing press for pants. The TV does not have any international channels, but you can cast your phone on the screen, or you can pay to use their VOD service or watch Netflix, Disney or other streaming services if you have an account. I would choose this hotel again but make sure I don't get the smokes room again.
