My friend and I recently rented kayaks from Ride and Paddle, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. The booking process was quick and easy, and the staff was incredibly friendly, informative, and helpful. They took the time to provide useful tips and advice that really helped make our kayaking trip a success. The launch location is beautiful and ideal for spotting wildlife — we were lucky enough to see manatees and a variety of other animals while paddling. It was such a memorable outing, and we truly appreciated how well Ride and Paddle set us up for a fun, safe, and smooth adventure. We’ll definitely be renting from them again. Thank you, R & P!

Ride and Paddle was absolutely fantastic. We were able to book rentals the day before we needed them and they were flexible with time. All phone calls I made before the trip were answered by very friendly and helpful staff. Our launch guide explained the suggested paddle route, put my nervous son at ease and even took pictures of us to share. I would absolutely use this company again next summer.

Equipment is nicely kept and was ready for us when we arrived. Kristen was great. Went into detail showing us where to go and describing what we should look for along the way. Highly recommend Ride & Paddle.

We rented a few kayaks to explore mangroves near Jim Neville Marine Preserve and Midnight pass. Found a beautiful beach covered with seashells and saw a manatee and stingray! Phil at the rental office was very helpful! He provided us with information and gave helpful suggestions not only about the rental equipment but also about the area. He was very kind and professional. Justin at the launch area was great! Very helpful and knowledgeable! Highly recommend this place!

Very helpful and nice staff! They provided well maintained and safe bikes, baskets, locks and helmets. They also offered to pick up the bikes from our Airbnb 10 min away for free! Call ahead if your visiting Siesta Key for vacation and they will also drop your bikes off complementary with a multi day rental 🫶🏼 Highly recommend 👍🏻🇺🇸💪🏼🚲🛵🛶

Kristin was terrific. She gave us a great overview of the area and answered all of our questions. Also very helpful in getting us launched and helping us out when we returned. Very satisfied with the whole experience.

We rented two kayaks from them and had so much fun!!! We walked into the office super last minute, gave them no heads up and they were more than welcome to accommodate us. They met us at the kayak launch so we didn’t have to load them up ourselves. We went at low tide and there were a few spots that were a little too shallow to paddle through but honestly didn’t negatively affect us. Highly recommend!! Thank you Trish and Phil! (:

Lovley helpfull guy in the shop they seem to have a large varitey of bikes and paddle stuff ,good prices the owner showed us the hot spots to visit on bikes felt like he cared about us having a good time and not just wanting a quick sale ! Rented beach gear for a day trip from Orlando. Everything was in good shape, easy to work with. We'd use them again next time we're back.

My parents frequent Sarasota and my dad is a biking enthusiast. He's always been bummed about not being able to bring his bike on vacation so I wanted to gift him bike rentals for Father's Day so he can ride around in bliss on his Summer trips there. When I called up Ride & Paddle, Brittany answered the phone and answered all my questions and helped me get exactly what I wanted to gift my dad. While they don't offer gift cards, they do offer gift certificates--and of course since I reside in San Diego I am unable to go pick one up--but no problem, Brittany was able to get an electronic invoice emailed to me and handled the whole transaction over the phone. Easy peasy. Grade A customer service!!! Just gifted the gift certificate to my dad on Father's Day and he was stoked! Although, plot twist, he is leaning more towards kayak rentals on his next trip. No problem. Happy he can use the credit towards whatever rentals he pleases. Will report back once my parents go and rent. And am happy to patron Ride and Paddle next time my parents allow me to come on vacay with them (:

This was one of the greatest experiences I have ever had with a business, specifically with owner and bike mechanic Trish (I think, the young lady with short hair). Why can't every business person be like this? When I hit an enormous speed bump in a 45mph zone in Immokalee, the violent slam knocked my bike off my bike rack and it was dragged by one wheel down the street. When I got to Siesta Key I took the damaged bike to Ride & Paddle and explained that I was camping there for three days, but the sooner Trish could get me going the sooner I could bike Siesta, at least for my third day. A few hours later Trish called to say it was ready. The damage was minor and she was able to replace the inner tube. I thought I would need a new tire or even wheel but she didn't rip me off for an unneeded repair and charged me only $36 for trueing the alignment and tweaking the handlebar levers. All for $36 when she could have charged me big time. She was a top notch bike mechanic too. But this gets better. When I put the bike back on the rack it was very difficult to get it behind the rack post and I asked Trish if she could move the undamaged bike shoes to the back of the rack where I could easily mount the bike. When the procedure became complicated I said it would be worth it to pay her pro-rated hourly rate to do it since it was taking more time than the simple fix I had thought. Twice she RAN back and forth to the store to get tools and got the shoes flipped. No charge. I insisted to pay her but she wouldn't accept it. When I paid for the bike repair I dropped a $ten in the tip jar, a bargain. Plus I got to encourage others to give big tips. Trish saved me a lot of stress and my Siesta Key biking too. What an angel! I'm tearing up reliving this.

Easy pickup & easy return. Beach bikes worked out great for riding in to the sunset and down to the village. I was able to ride a out 25 miles in 2 days without any issue. The snorkeling gear was brand new and worked great.

We were very happy with the customer service. Able to change bike types and get helmets with ease!

We had a great time in the kayaks with tour guide, Brian. Even though we didn't get to see any manatees (too cold) or dolphins, we thoroughly enjoyed the peace and natural beauty of the midnight pass waters. Some interesting facts on Mote and see life trivia kept us entertained. And he tested our paddling expertise going under docks (don't worry, you'll do fine ). Don't hesitate to book a tour and enjoy your day on the water.

My boyfriend and I rented beach cruiser for three days on our vacation to Siesta Key. This place was walking distance to our condo and the entire process took maybe 10 minutes or less. Friendly staff and great prices. We were able to choose or own bikes and even test drive them to ensure they were the right fit. Bike locks, removable baskets and are included and helmets (but not required) Returned them on the third day without any problems.

Fabulous experience from Turtle Beach! Easy online booking, they were there waiting for us on south siesta key. We were given an overview of the area and a photo of the map. We saw manatee right away, some 3-4 foot sharks, plus sting rays and other creatures. We loved our 4 hour self guided rental, got a peak at Stephen Kings property and we docked our kayaks to get out and swim in the Gulf for a few minutes on the "private beach" accessible only by boats. Service was fantastic, nicest guy ever. Rent from them and see The Bay from Turtle Beach.

We highly recommend this business for bike rentals. The level of professionalism, courtesy and quality of bikes, helmets and locks are top notch. We previously rented elsewhere on Siesta Key on prior trips and find Ride and Paddle to be outstanding.

Go somewhere else to rent snorkel equipment. Stay away from this place! We rented snorkel equipment here and the ocean was too rough and choppy for my family to snorkel. I returned the unused equipment and politely asked for a refund back since we weren't able to snorkel and the Manager was very rude and refused to give me a refund. Not even a partial refund back. I even explained to him we are from out of state and leaving tomorrow.

This was an amazing experience with incredible customer service. We went to the midnight pass location, where we were given multiple options of paddle boarding. We went to Turtle Cove for three hours and immediately had a huge manatee come swim up to me. It was an experience I will never forget.

Great service, they delivered the paddle board right to the condo when they said they would. It was a nice paddle board too. Thanks for making our vacation a little more fun!

If I could give zero stars I would!! Horrible customer service. Cancelled my reservation because I couldn't find the place. The directions that were given to me took me somewhere else. By the time I got in touch with the person that workers there and he said it was past our reservation and he would just cancel it and refund us the money. That was in May still no refund so I called and found out they have a refund fee that wasn't told to us. We paid 85.60 for 2 kayaks $20 to park and they will possibly refund us $45. Horrible business for such a beautiful place!!!

Rented a little two seater car from Siesta Sports today. $100 24 hours The employees were extremely friendly and helpful! Had a wonderful day. Great place for random beach needs and bikes

My friends and I rented from this establishment on our vacation to Sarasota. The gentleman who owns the business is lovely and he made it so easy for us to rent the scooters out. He explained everything in great detail and the scooters worked great, they have awesome prices and made our vacation 10x more awesome. I would highly recommend them!

My family got on the Key late afternoon on Saturday. The owner Phil, mentioned delivering our bikes Sunday morning around 10 AM. My wife requested if the bikes could be delivered Saturday so we could get a bike ride in early Sunday. Phil delivered our bikes an hour later. Great service and prices.

I mistook this place for a similarly named one...I regretted it the second I booked the rental. I came during early morning rush to rent 4 paddleboarlds for my kids. Every question I asked was met with an annoyed smirk..making me feel like a fool for asking. I didn't think "Which launch site do you recommend for kids?" was such a far fetched question. Perhaps I came in when owner was shorthanded and stressed with the early morining rush of people planning their day ...but between the annoyed responses to any possible question i could ask and listening to him do the same to every phone call coming in.. it's clear this man thinks customers are an annoyance and it makes for a not tourist friendly place. No rates were posted either...and he went ahead and charged the card without even mentioning it...when I asked if that was for a full day he even had the nerve to argue with me "What are you going to do with the boards for the whole day?" Whether I wanted to lie on it all day like a beached whale or try to paddle to Portugal and back, the rate was a little high compared to competition and the question was a fair one. We spent nearly $200 for four paddleboards for a half day...that's more than we paid for our car rental for the week.....would have at least liked to feel good about who we were handing the money to. Equipment was adequate.

Very helpful and friendly staff. We rented a two seater motorized scooter one day and then the next we rented two water skis. We will definitely be back as the team was so professional and helpful in their recommendations.

Rented 2 chairs and an umbrella for 3 days as we were going to be in town from Friday till Sunday. Got the equipment around 1200 on Friday and went to the beach. Later that day we found out that Sarasota County were closing the beaches Saturday morning at 6am, due to Corona Virus precautions. So we went back on Friday at 445 before they closed to return equipment and asked to be refunded for the two days we paid for that we clearly couldn't use now. Lady at the counter stated they don't do refunds. We ended up paying $60 for renting 2 chairs and an umbrella for 5 hours. Horrible customer service.

Great place in Siesta Key to rent a road bike. Owners were wonderful, very knowledgeable and helpful, and staff were as well. I would highly recommend!

Visited Siesta Key for the day with my fiancé and we decided to make an impromptu stop at Siesta Sports Rentals. It was later in the day so we were only looking to rent a scooter for a few hours. We ended up renting a mini convertible 3-wheel car instead, which was so fun!! They also gave us a deal on the daily rental price since we would only be using it for a couple hours, which was great. We had a blast and will definitely be back!

This company is top notch. Prompt, courteous, informed, flexible We rented a mix of kayaks and paddle boards for a family outing. We were all first-timers. Mike delivered the equipment then explained how to use each and recommended where we could paddle to. After our fun afternoon - a quick call and they were back to pick up the gear. We wrapped up our trip renting / riding bicycles around Siesta. As much as I love sun and beach - I really enjoyed being active while vacationing on the beach. Double Bonus!

I am ticked . We rented a scooter car for 4 hours and we had our 2 chihuahuas with us . The problem was the the thing was so incredibly loud and rough riding that they were very scared . It at all what I imagined . It was a rough noisy ride even for us . We've had them in golf carts etc.. and they loved it . We paid for four hours and came back in one . He would not give us a penny back . He could have charged for two hours as a compromise . Such POOR business . That's not how I run my business and it infuriates me when people just plain don't care about the customer experience and customer service !!!!

Hands down the best rental shop in Siesta Key. Great service, selection and rates. This trip we are renting a stand up paddle board from them. They dropped off the board at our rental unit! Awesome! I had an issue with the board (my fault), and they came to my rental until to fix it. I will always rent from. Keep up the good work guys! Greg from Denver

Great experience on the Kayak Tour. We had a group of 6 and the experience was the highlight for us on Siesta Key. The guide (the owner) was very knowledgeable and made the trip very fun. Unfortunately we didn't see any Manatee or dolphins but somethings can't be controlled ;) We would suggest this place to anyone!

Todd and the crew at Siesta Sports Rental saved our vacation! They were prompt, courteous, and incredibly accommodating in renting us a beach wheelchair. They delivered the chair to us right when and where we needed it and offered to pick it up after hours as well. They were a great resource in planning our trip, and we would definitely rent with them again.

My wife and I rented beach bikes for 3 days. Great customer service. Reasonable prices. We had lots of fun riding the beach and the Legacy trail to Venice. This is a well run friendly business, we will rent here again.

Fantastic service I wouldn't go anywhere else it's wonderful to walk into a store and work with people who do what they say plus they are helpful knowledgeable and they like what they do! it's obvious in attitude and in behavior. Prices are great!

I am a 73 year old woman who booked kayaks on line for two people. My friend's husband fell down the stairs two days prior to kayaking and she needed to cancel. From the online site I immediately found number and called to cancel explaining the situation, woman I spoke with told me no problem since they had not charged my card. When my Card statement came in I found I was charged. I phoned again, explained the situation again and asked why. I was told no notes were in the file and they would check into it. Stating at that time I had to cancel a week in advance ...I had booked only 4 days in advance to begin with. A planned fun time turned into a into a sad situation where I was treated as if I was misrepresenting the facts. I can not recommend this company due to the way I was treated, essentially punished because the woman I spoke to did not do her job. A big hit for a senior person on limited income.

So far not impressed. Rented a beach wheelchair for my 83-year old mother. Device was delivered to the wrong unit and locked. Delivery man called and told me where he had left it. Told him it was in the wrong spot. He never mentioned that it was locked. Called the office to find out he had lied to them. Said he had left me a voice mail telling me where the key was. No such voice mail. Unfortunately, people in office believed him. So much for the customer being right! Finally got it unlocked to find one of the tires is almost flat. Called them again. They are supposed to drop off another unit this afternoon. Will keep you posted. Well, thank you very much, Siesta Sports Rentals! May be a commendable employer but a lousy company. Have completely messed up 3 days of our beach vacation. Came with a replacement chair, but would give no concession to losing 3 days worth of use! Wanted it in writing that they did nothing wrong! Really?!?! Do business with them at your own risk!

Although we are regular road bike riders, we rented 4 beach cruiser bikes, 1 with a child seat, for our stay on Siesta Key. Mike was very helpful and low-key getting us set up. They delivered the bikes to our rental house within the hour. We also wanted to rent kayaks at some time during our stay. Mike explained the options, and told us that if we called the day before we wanted to paddle, they would deliver the boats to Turtle Beach marina. We called the next day, Chris delivered the boats on time and explained the route options and some of the sights to see in the area. He was prompt to pick up the boats when we called, and didn't complain when he had to make two trips, since some of us took extra time to fish. In fairness to the other rental options on Siesta Key, I didn't comparison shop for prices and others may be just as helpful. For my money, I will use Siesta Sports Rental when I return to Siesta Key - great, friendly service at a fair price without any hassle. Just what I am looking for while on vacation.

My sons and I rented 3 1-person kayaks for 4 hours during our recent vacation in Siesta Key. Siesta Sports Rentals is the best; they are friendly, accommodating, easy to work with and reasonably prices. The drop-off/pick-up was hassle-free at the Turtle Beach boat ramps which had plenty of parking. We toured around the Neville Nature Preserve and had a wonderful experience. We even had three manatee sightings, one coming up to my kayak for a moment. Highly recommend Siesta Sports Rentals and we will definitely be using them again during our vacation next summer. Excellent service, very good prices. We rented 2 mini-scooter cars, they were in great condition and provided us with 2 hours of fun in siesta key. Give them a try, they are just south of the stickney bridge towards turtle beach.

My friends and I went down to Siesta Key and we rented scooters here. The pricing is amazing, you can't beat the prices that are here. We loved it so much and are definitely going back to rent from here again. I highly recommend renting from here you will not be disappointed. Also the owner is extremely nice and accommodating. Please do yourself a favor and rent from here.

As a honest yelper I realized that my original review was based on two experiences but the positive experience was overshadowed by the negative one. Unfortunately yelp does not allow me to post separate reviews so I'll revise this one and rerate as my first experience with this company was positive. Rented Kayaks and they arrived on-time, product was functional, price was good and enjoyed my day on the water. Upon return the staff was promptly available to accept the Kayak return and my experience was pleasurable. Thanks. This update is in reply to Sheila's response on 8/23/12. You have been misinformed of the actual situation with the scooter rental. The difference in the price quote was $22.50 (quoted $32.50 on phone but charged $55 when arrived on-site). You're right, it's not a 50% increase but a 69% increase. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. On another note one of your employees stated the credit card photocopy would be returned to me when the vehicle was returned so that was additional misinformation I received. No, I was never notified that the vehicle was running slower than normal prior to the rental. In fact, when I returned to swap for another vehicle, your employee was surprised it was malfunctioning and stated "we had a similar problem in the past but thought it was fixed". I was not interested in a "faster scooter" as you stated but one that actually ran normally (no unexpected loss of power). The second scooter had a problem with the front brake pulsating to the point of being dangerous in certain braking situations in my opinion. I was unable to return the vehicle as your office was already closed for the day. The next morning when I returned the scooter and the person behind the counter (which I believed to be the owner) stated he was keeping my credit card info (photocopy) on file, I was concerned about my liabilities rather than educating your staff on what needs to be repaired. Remember I get paid to be a mechanic for a living except I'm on vacation. Would it really make a difference if I stated the brakes were malfunctioning? I would like to believe the vehicle is checked prior to the rental. I was not interested in a refund and never asked for one as I did used the scooter (slowly) and have enough business ethics to pay for the use of the item rented. Know that other companies use a credit card scanner and hold the details of a credit card electronically which is typically more secure than a paper photocopy sitting behind the desk. How can I believe that your file cabinet at home is a safe location for my data to be stored as I was told that is where it is eventually filed. I assumed your response to my review would be to blame the client. Now that you know my side of the story, let's move forward with our lives. You keep doing what you're doing and I'll continue to evaluate my business options. I understand that not everyone will have the same experience as I did but simply wanted you to know the way I perceived the situation. I wish you well.

I am rating this company poorly because after calling in (Mike) giving my credit card number and securing a reservation for a kayak for the next day, at first, they forgot. Then they say it "may" take 20 minutes to get a kayak there. Then they suggested I cancel because there were probably other companies there I could rent from. Not a very good business model, if you ask me. I wasn't going to cancel, just because it would probably cost them more to get someone out there, however, I wanted to get on the water and there were other companies there that were more than happy to take my business. We had a great time on the water! Many hours later, Mike calls back to say he misfiled my reservation and he needed my cc information a second time to cancel my order. Whatever. We will not TRY to rent from them again. I do not believe they even intended to be there, as they were not on site when we got off the water. I don't trust them.

really can't recommend this place, after trying both rental places one behind Captain Curts and this one. Didn't instruct me properly in use of equipment. Other place is way friendlier

Very pleased with our experience. Kayaks were waiting at the preserve when we arrived, we were given instructions but since we have kayaked before we didn't really need them. They gave tips on where we might see manatees and we did see one. Overall very happy.

We went on a kayak tour to the Jim Neville Preserve. The water temperature was 61 degrees which was to cold for the manatees and the water was to shallow for dolphins. We still had a great time and got some good exercise. Summer would be a good time to take this tour.

This is a great location if you're looking for a bike ride on the beach. I rented a bike that I could ride on the beach and had great time. The staff was very helpful and prompt. The price was reasonable too. I also noticed that they will deliver bikes to other locations. Couldn't be happier with the experience.

I've rented beach equipment from them for several years now. They're always friendly, courteous, and helpful! Wonderful people to just chat with! I will continue to do business with them and recommend them to all my friends that visit the area too!

My experience is with a scooter car that I rented for a couple of days while visiting Siesta Key. First of all, the scooter was given to someone else even though I had stopped in the day before to reserve one. They didn't have another one so I agreed to come back the next day but I wish that I had just left and never returned. The vehicle that I received was extremely unsafe. The engine ran roughly and the brakes were barely adequate and when applied, caused the car to pull to one side. At speed, the car would weave down the road like a snake due to excessive play in the steering. Something was loose in the rear of the machine as well because when I applied pressure to the side of the rear wheel, the entire drivetrain flopped around independently of the body. Now admittedly, my experience with this company is limited to this one incident but if you are looking to rent one of these death traps, I would recommend that you think twice.
