Ridgemount will now become my go-to hotel in London. I had one of the small single rooms and it worked out really well for me. Very reasonably priced for a great location in London, close to several tube stations to get you anywhere, comfortable bed, fan in the room (I was there during one of the heatwaves) and while there are no tea/coffee facilities in the room, there are free hot drinks in the spacious lounge. Breakfast was excellent - a great choice, and servers who managed to stay friendly, efficient, and helpful amidst all of the busy to-ing and fro-ing to seat and serve us. Terrific stay! Will be back!

Great location and delicious breakfast! Easy walking distance to multiple Underground stations and to several main tourist sights with plenty of restaurant options close by. Our triple ensuit bathroom was newly renovated and the room was perfect for our family.

I had hurt my knee just before I checked in and the staff was very helpful in supplying cold packs, extra pillow and towel. And they did it each day. ||The room was well maintained on a daily basis. ||There was storage space in which to unpack within the room, but it would not have been possible to 'live out of the suitcase' as no luggage rack. Although no counter space around the bathroom sink, there were shelves over the toilet to hold quite a lot of toiletries.||The breakfast did not have fruit. The only vegan option was to request oatmeal made with water, which they gladly did, and it was fine.

The room was very small, but it had all the basic amenities and was extremely clean. The hotel is conveniently located near several tube stations and surrounded by many cafés and restaurants, making it easy to explore the city. Breakfast was quite simple, but the service provided by the staff was excellent — all the ladies were incredibly friendly and attentive. Overall, it’s a great choice for anyone looking to stay in a well-located area of London without spending too much.

While the rooms are truly tiny, the staff are great, the shower nice, the bed comfortable, and the full English breakfast a highlight.||I stayed here 20-30 years ago, and the main differences are the addition of really good WiFi and a markedly higher price. (The place has obviously been refurbished in the meantime - this is a compliment on the consistency, not a complaint about the age!)||It's 5 minutes walk from a tube station and bus stops, and pretty close to the British Museum.

We stage one night in June on a fleeting visit to London. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and managed to get us checked in a little earlier than expected. The room was clean and tidy but was six flights of stair up and on a very hot London night, despite a fan, was difficult to sleep. Other than the heat the hotel was good.

The place is very clean, spotless. Room very very small , but there is a lounge that guests can use. Bed comfy , and good pillows, sheets etc but narrower than a single bed - more like a caravan or boat size I imagine. No coffee, tea facility in room but a free vending machine in the lounge - also when you want a cup of tea as you wake up this is not ideal. ||Breakfast a big disappointment. Served at table , not buffet. Choice of cereals but no fruits, no yoghurt, no croissant type of things. Only cereals, choices of milk and “ ful english “ also this means sausage bacon and egg. No mushroom , tomato , I manage to get on request (but not cooked!) . ||The location is very good . ||Staff pleasant but noisy at the kitchen . Many ladies there who seem to really enjoy their job . Definitely a good thing but chatter and laugh a bit too noisy in my opinion .

Lovely little hotel. Spotlessly clean, very helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast was fabulous. The bed and pillows were a little hard for me, but that's my preference. I will definitely stay there again because of the location - easy to find with local Tube stations Goodge Street and Euston Square within 5 minutes walk. The British Museum is also a 5 minute walk away!

Yelp
With all the complaints regarding Air BnB and similar platforms, when I wandered into the street on which this hotel was located, and discovered that pretty much every building on the street was a hotel, I realised that this problem as been around for quite a while. Anyway, this hotel was pretty old fashioned, still having a key to enter and the like. Still, I personally didn't mind it, even if the only place to leave your bags was the common room. However, I have to admit that it was a decent place to stay.

Yelp
Clean and wonderfully located hotel. It's a great base for your London travels. There are two different tub stops nearby, but it's a very quiet neighborhood with plenty of shops nearby. There is no lift so be prepared to carry your luggage up the stairs. This is a reality for a lot of hotels in the UK. I don't fault the Ridgemount for it. It's also VERY warm in the rooms. There is no AC or ceiling fans (again seems to be the norm based on all the other places I've stayed) so pack accordingly. They offer a fantastic breakfast every morning which is included in your room price. It was delicious and all of the servers were friendly. Overall this is a clean and lovely place to stay.

Yelp
Loved the very clean and comfortable accommodations, a wonderful breakfast, and a staff that was always kind and accommodating. My husband and I spent 9 days here in this very centrally located hotel, and will surely book again when we can!

Yelp
Stay far away! Upon walking into this hotel I was "greeted" by an extremely rude taller gentleman who was not helpful at all and very non-understanding. Following along into our room it was smaller than shack and the bed wasn't big enough to fit a child. The room had no bathroom and was very old and out dated. The breakfast was horrible. I really can't find anyhting good to say about this hotel. I usually don't review places but I had to make sure people know about this experience.

Yelp
Would definitely stay again. Very clean, and quiet. (We were in the basement and I'd recommend asking for a basement room - no street noise.) Hearty breakfast and the servers don't miss a beat. This is a great neighborhood - close enough to be an easy Tube stop away from most attractions, yet residential enough so that you don't feel like a tourist surrounded by chain shops that you'll see in any other city. On our first day, we fell onto the Thursday Farmers' Market, near University College, and that was a great lunch. (Actually, there are several cool things around UCL, like an Egyptian archaeology museum, that we didn't get to check out. The area's worth exploring further! The Wellcome Collection is a short walk away, and worth seeing - cool, and creepy, medical antiquities.) One tip: if you don't mind walking, use the Euston Square or Tottenham Court Road Tube stations for more traveling options. Especially if you're taking the early morning Eurostar from St. Pancras! Euston Square is a half-mile walk.

Yelp
LOVED our stay here! My husband and I took a two week vacation to London and Ireland last summer. The Ridgemount was, by far, the cleanest hotel with the friendliest staff of all four places we stayed. We spent six lovely nights here and enjoyed comfortable, cozy accommodations! We also REALLY enjoyed the traditional breakfast each morning. The breakfast filled us up and allowed us to eat small lunches, saving us a ton of money! Each evening when we came back to the hotel we felt like we were coming home. We slept very well and appreciated the quiet atmosphere offered by the hotel. The location was also fabulous for anyone having an extended trip to London. We were steps from the Underground, King's Cross and Euston Stations, and the British Museum. There were also pubs, restaurants, and ample shopping within walking distance. This was our first overseas trip as a married couple and we are so happy The Ridgemount was a part of it, thank you!

Yelp
Perfect location! This is a simple, family run hotel / bed & breakfast. It's a bit rustic, but very charming. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is free wifi in the lobby area and they serve free hot English breakfast every morning. It's a lovely place to stay!

Yelp
You know, I had high hopes for The Ridgemount as they have an insanely high rating on Trip Advisor. When we arrived we found out we were on the 4th floor, which was interesting when we were lugging our luggage up and down, but hey - it's good exercise. You couldn't ask for a better location though. Right smack dab in the middle of two decent tube stations on different lines. An easy walk down to the West End and Trafalgar Square and to other museums. Bring or purchase an extension cord when you get there though, if you're bringing more than one electronic item. You are going to want that fan on. It got HOT in there. So hot I considered leaving after night one, but my brother graciously switched beds with me and I no longer had a problem. Free internet, free breakfast, and the owners are so incredibly nice and helpful in planning your day. For travel on a budget, this is a great place to stay.

Yelp
The location of the hotel is perfect. It is close by the British museum and other must see highlights in London. The staff was very friendly and breakfast was nice. The room nevertheless was terrible. To start with the looks of it. It was so tiny that we couldn't even open our luggage properly. The bed was also very tiny for two persons, and also the mattress was very hard. In the shower there was no shampoo or body wash available. On top of that, the room was so hot when we arrived that even though we turned of the heat completely, it was still very warm the whole night. Plus a lot of street noise because we had to open the window entirely. We slept terribly and it has wasted our entire next day.

Yelp
The best place to go if you want a typic way to experience london! Everything is near and easy to walk around, the people there are super neat and you will eat like kings!

Yelp
My wife and I have been coming back year after year. we have introduced two other American couples who are also fans now. GREAT location and the friendliest, most helpful family hoteliers make it all a pleasure. The rooms are serviceable and clean. Brekkies are quite tasty. The kitchen servers and house staff are so sweet and careful and they remember your breakfast preferences after one day! Remember to leave a tip for them at the end of your stay. See y'all soon!

Yelp
It's location is very good. Near British Museum, and very convenient to take bus and tube. But the breakfast is not so good, in my point of view.
