The front desk staff—especially Greg—were wonderful. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming. The breakfast each morning was also a nice touch, and my wife and I genuinely enjoyed it. Ridley House has a lot of charm, and we really appreciate the character of a historic property from the late 1800s. That’s exactly the type of place we prefer to stay. That said, some areas of the room could benefit from a bit more attention, particularly in terms of maintenance and cleanliness. The bathroom and bedding weren’t quite up to the standard we’ve experienced at other B&Bs. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and truly believe this property has great potential with just a little extra care in the rooms.

A solid 47/5 (super close to 5 stars). We visit Key West with family annually. This year we booked 3 rooms at the Ridley House from a Monday-Thursday. Everyone absolutely loved the location. You are a close walk to Duval as well as the marina. The chef in the morning made truly great breakfast. The mattress and sheets were very comfortable. The only downside I would say is that we all had different experiences with the humidity in our rooms. One room was great and the other two rooms were super humid inside for some reason. With that said we are absolutely going to return to this place. We were so happy with it. Side note, the pool was 85 degrees which was nice and comfortable.

This is a historic hotel that offers clean rooms and a great location (walkable to everything). The staff is friendly and the complimentary breakfast is good, along with the happy hour sangria. We were able to check-in early, which we appreciated greatly as well. That said, the 4 nights we stayed here, 2/4 nights the fire alarm went off. First time was at 1 am, and second time was around 9 pm. The alarm is so aggressively loud it could burst your eardrums if you don't plug them. Given it is an older, historic building, you can also hear everything. If you are a light sleeper, try to request a third floor room if possible, otherwise you will likely hear the upstairs guests. Can't control the street noise, unfortunately. They also locked us out of our room 30 minutes before check-out time. We were just getting back from our final walk to grab our suitcases and our key cards didn't work. While this may have just been a system glitch, it added to the growing list of small annoyances we experienced throughout the stay. While we enjoyed the location, friendly staff and the cleanliness of our room, given the above, I am not sure we would chose to stay here when visiting in the future.

We have stayed at many different locations in Key West but I have to say the Ridley House has provided us with the best Chef prepared breakfast. The 1st morning the special was freshly made waffles with blueberry compote and it was excellent. The 2nd morning the special was Eggs Benedict and again it was delicious. We also had an order of scrambled eggs and they were truly scrambled not a plain omelette cut into pieces like you get at a lot of restaurants. Kudos to the Chefs! There were plenty of other items nicely displayed for breakfast. You won’t go away hungry. |As for the room, it was what we expected from an 1880s building in the Keys. Large room with a king bed and a sofa. The A/C was the only issue since it blew directly on the bed. As you can imagine it did keep us cool after a day outside in the 90s. We had an exceptionally large bathroom with a big walk-in shower. The room faced Simonton Street and was a bit noisy at times. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay again but select a different room.

OMG, the chef-made breakfasts by the pool! Cozy rooms (every room is different) and just a block from Duval St. We had a lovely second-floor room (no elevator) in a 19th century house. Bliss carried our bags upstairs for us and made sure we were comfortable. Large bathroom, mini-fridge, comfy couch with coffee table, and a porch with loveseat and spiral stairs down. (Also, there are gentler stairs.) The long, narrow pool was a mix of sun and shade most of the day, and never felt crowded. Towels and various sunscreens were provided. In the afternoons, homemade sangria is served poolside. Breakfast comes with the room. Coffee is usually available by 7:15-ish, and breakfast officially starts at 8. Chef cooks eggs to order, along with plenty of other Continental selections. (Sunday's are always Eggs Benedict!)

This was a beautiful, spotless 5-star property when it was Kimpton. Now that it has changed hands, it is very obvious it is no longer Kimpton. It's a little shabby, a little less friendly, a little dirty, with fewer amenities, and yet somehow more expensive. I agree with a previous reviewer about the dirty bathroom/grout and needing to wear shoes. When it was Kimpton, you were given welcome drinks. Now you get an invite to the Happy Hour 3 hours after you check out. Of course, we were not told about it at the unfriendly check-in or about the breakfast. Great location, and it was still a good time, but crossing this one off the list. There are too many other good choices to overpay for sub-par.

On paper, this is the perfect Key West stay. Perfect location, beautiful property, nearby parking, and breakfast included (which easily offsets the $40/day parking). However, our experience here will make me look elsewhere next time we visit Key West.|We checked into the room and immediately noticed everything (including the bedding) was damp. There was also a musty smell to the room. The air wasn't on in the room so we thought maybe running the AC unit while we went out for the night would help. However, when we got back the musty smell had morphed into a definite mold smell. It was too late to do anything about it so we decided to tough it out until morning. It became so bad that my husband actually had to go outside and sleep in a lounge chair by the pool, rather than spend any more time in the room. When the office opened, he went in to tell them about the issue and ask for a different room. He was told there were no rooms available and that "normally" they would provide an ionizer but they were all out. Obviously, this is not an isolated incident.|A quick online search showed multiple rooms available, so the claim that nothing else was open was simply not true. Later, when I sent a written message asking for confirmation that nothing would be done, a new room suddenly became “available."|What made the situation even more troubling was finding multiple hidden odor-absorbing canisters around the room. Clearly, the hotel knows this room has an ongoing mold problem but continues to rent it out for hundreds of dollars a night, and then gaslights guests who raise concerns. These canisters were NOT present in the room we were moved to.

We had a great room with a private patio next to the pool. The staff and the breakfast were great, as was the afternoon sangria. The central location makes an easy walk to anywhere you want to be on the island.

Yelp
We absolutely loved our 7 night stay at the Ridley House. The location is great, only 1 block from Duval street, yet set in a quiet neighborhood. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The best part was the amazing breakfasts prepared to order by Chef Andrew. We can't wait to return.

Yelp
Don't do it. We left early and found another place to stay. I wouldn't want to take my chances and book there again. Here's why: It's an historic property, so I would expect variation in the rooms. But there is a minimum acceptable standard and the rooms do not all meet it. Some rooms are very small (150 sq-ft!) Some rooms do not have a window. Some face a noisy, busy road. Some share walls with public spaces. Staff will not change your room even if there are other guests leaving the next day. They'll tell you they are full and can't do anything about your room even when they *do* have rooms turning over. The property needs some upkeep. In an older place like this, there can be charming character, and there can be unpleasant and a little gross. This place is more the latter. Filthy grout isn't my favorite. I felt like I needed shoes in the bathroom. And even though we cranked the a/c for a few hours after we got there, the room was very damp and musty. They tell you breakfast is made to order every day but that's just on the weekends. Otherwise, you are offered only what they've got and they are unable to accommodate allergies or preferences. (Allergic to dairy? Oh well. They cannot make a burrito without it). Beware if you arrive after 6 pm! The front desk is *not* staffed for late check ins or lost keys etc. from after 6 in the evening until 7 am. There is a number to call and a second number to text but after losing a key at around 7 pm, we had to wait 45 minutes + for anybody to show up and let us back in the room. There was an exhausted family from Japan with children trying to hold it together that whole time because there was nobody to check them in after a long travel day. Parking is on the street and even if you find a spot, it is not cheap: Meters are $6 or $7/hour from 8 am to midnight. You can pay less if you park in a lot a couple blocks away. There are other options in this price range on Key West that are just as well (if not better) located. Unless you have been able to inspect your room ahead of time, don't do it. Keep looking and book a room elsewhere.

Yelp
First time in Key West and I booked through my credit card travel portal. Pros: - Pretty central location, lots of attractions were walkable or within a few minutes drive - Lovely hotel grounds, historic Key West building - We stayed in room #2 and it was HUGE, also had a little outdoor seating area which was lovely as well - Afternoon Sangria by the pool is a nice touch Cons: - Poor street insulation because our room faced the road, could hear almost everything and the light peaks through cracks in the doors as well - Be aware of fees! There is a guest amenities fee that we were charged with checkout. Not sure if it's nightly as we only stayed one night (payed an extra $41) - Street parking only, managed to find a free spot a few blocks away from the hotel but they are few and far between. Expect $40 a day in parking in this area. - Room #2 shared a wall with the kitchen and it was VERY loud, be aware of this if you plan on sleeping in because the noise kept us up starting around 7AM

Yelp
Paper thin walls, no hot water, a toilet seat that wasn't even attached to the toilet, and a mold around the tub/shower. We paid way too much for not having hot water and all they did was send someone later to say it's working now. Really? Such sub par standards. Horrible visit

Yelp
We originally booked this hotel in July, 2023 for this trip, which we just took in February, 2024. I'm a Bonvoy Titanium member, but also use American Airlines to book hotels, to help gain status with AA. I say all that to say that I solely chose this particular property because it was a Kimpton, or so I thought. It seems that this property changed ownership on January 9, 2024 and is no longer a Kimpton and it was noticeable when we got there. First the good stuff: - Location is easily walkable to most anywhere you want to go, from Mallory Square to the Southern Most Buoy. It's still slightly noisy with road/horns/brakes and those types of noises. - Bed was comfy and nicely firm - Housekeeping did a nice job keeping the room refreshed while we were out for the day, so we came back to a made-up room each day. - They offer nice, locally made bagels for the free breakfast. The not so good stuff: - The room, room 11 was tiny! Smallest to I've ever stayed in. For $2600 for 4 nights, it's a total rip off! There was no where to put luggage and clothes, so we literally had to live out of suitcases. - There was no curtains on the windows, just blinds. So at night, the pool lighting lit up the room, making it tough to enjoy a dark room to sleep in. - There was no pressure at all from the shower and the sink water never got hot, but the shower did. - There was pump hand soap on the vanity and pump body wash and shampoo in the shower and all three smelled, looked, and felt like the exact same stuff! - There's a guy working the office in the afternoon who doesn't seem too happy to be asked questions by guests. He was curt and borderline rude when I asked for 2 extra towels. - The property really needs to be refurbished! The columns holding the covered patio were completely rotted at the bottom. The pool steps and deck are in desperate need of being refinished. - They charged an amenity fee... for what?!?! So, after paying $2400, I got a bill for $166.52 for the amenity fee, plus related taxes - RIDICULOUS!! There are properties in Key West with a pool that charge this fee and are worth it, but this isn't one of them! - The front desk isn't 24x7, like most hotels... They close at 10PM... So, if you need assistance (lost keys, need extra towels, etc), you'll need to call the number on the window. Overall, I'll stick with Marriott and Hilton to book properties when visiting. We visit Key West often and prefer not to stay in these "no name" places, as they don't seem to be nearly kept up as nicely as places run by Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, etc.

Yelp
First time to Key West. Stayed here for 3 nights and it was perfect. The location is right where you want to be. Close enough to the action but far enough away that you don't have to be in the action. The breakfast in the mornings was so good! The people who work here are great and very helpful! I would stay here again.

Yelp
We stayed at the Ridley House for three nights. We had a fantastic experience. The location is very close to all the major attractions. Five minute walk to Duval street, 28 minute walk to Fort Zachary Beach, 15 minutes to the pier. The pool was not huge, but very pretty and warm; gets great sun in the afternoon. The provide a nice cocktail hour at 3 pm with sangria near the pool. The best part was the free breakfast. They have a chef who prepares a large breakfast for guests every morning. The spread is huge with freshly made eggs, coffee, pastries, cheese, meats, overnight oats. The second day was freshly prepared prepared biscuits and gravy, and the last day was homemade eggs Benedict with a key lime hollandaise sauce. The chef was phenomenal. The hotel is quaint with historic features; feels like an air BnB. The only downside was that our room backed up to the kitchen on one side and the Main Street on the other so it got a bit loud; there were also roosters that woke us up every morning. Once we got ear plugs we were good! Highly recommend this hotel.
