Google
A very special hotel where the hero is the Matterhorn. We were so well looked after in this beautiful hotel- stunk g location, comfy room with super cosy bed. Decor is antique ski lodge with quirky accents - modern photo art, collectibles, sheep, birds which add to its charm. The staff all very chatty and friendly, the spa is family friendly, food was terrific. We especially loved the Italian restaurant- the toblerone fondue was a highlight. Hiking routes from the hotel, also convenient to take train up to Gornergrat which is not to be missed

What an amazing place. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very special. The suite with the view of the Matterhorn was sublime. We got engaged đź’Ť on the balcony and it was perfect. Massage was wonderful and the view from the spa pool outside was to die for. The breakfast choice was plentiful and the food in the evenings at both restaurants was fantastic. We can't wait to return to celebrate many more special days with the team here. We loved it.

Our third visit to this gem of a hotel. Excellent food, room and outdoor spa with Matterhorn view.|Quality requires time and presence and we felt everyone there had that. We were greeted by name, with smiles and kind attentions. |We will be back!

This a truly unique place, and we were thankful to spend 5 nights here as a family.|This staff was extremely welcoming, friendly, and did everything possible to make our stay comfortable. We had our 2 year old with us, and they were super friendly to her and made an effort to say hello to her and help her at meals etc. There is a cute playground, cows/sheep within walking distance, and a pond for the little ones to explore. Although we had some rainy days, we kept busy in the "kindergarten" area playing with some of the toys and walking around the hotel. It's a great place to bring children! I believe in the winter they may offer some childcare options, but in summer they don't which was fine. |The room was very comfortable and large. Only small detail was some of the corners were a little dark and could use a bit more lighting in some of the corners. Also the blinds we were told were "electric" only were actually controlled with difficulty with a manual stick. Be aware, the hotel does have a lot of stairs, so if you have little ones, you will need to carry them around a lot. They had upgraded us to the "3rd floor" which meant taking an elevator, then walking up another 20 windy stairs to the room.|The outdoor pool is heated to a nice temperature and felt very comfortable despite the outdoor air temperature. The spa area is LOVELY and relaxing. |The hotel is well situated for hiking, riding the Gronergrat train line up or down to Zermatt to explore. The Gronergrat line comes frequently maybe every 30 minutes so you never have to wait long for a ride, be aware you need to buy a rail pass or tickets so this does add to the expense of staying at this hotel. |Both restaurants were very very good. We didn't feel we had to venture out too much because the quality was so good and the staff was so kind. |Overall, an amazing stay during which we greatly enjoyed our interactions with staff and the beautiful natural environment surrounding this hotel. We would like to come back!

A heartfelt thank you to the entire team at Riffelalp for such a wonderful stay. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed. Every detail, from the friendly smiles at reception to the attentive and effortless service in the restaurant, made our time there unforgettable. You can truly feel that everyone loves what they do, and it creates such a special atmosphere. It was a joy and a privilege to stay with you, and I look forward to returning.||With warm regards,||Leyla Hoffmann

I cannot recommend this hotel enough. It was our favorite of our two week trip to Italy Germany and Switzerland. The accommodations and staff are excellent. We could not want for not. Anything that we could ask for they had (almond milk, oat milk, Coke Zero, water bottles for hiking, hiking poles) and were so knowledgeable. I did not want to leave and cannot wait to return and experience this mountain paradise in Winter ski season.

When our train up the mountain broke down we had the option to get off and hike to the nearest train station. We ended up at Riffelalp Resort while deciding if we would wait out the broken train or hike back down to town. The host greeted us with hospitality and coffees even though we were not hotel guests. He helped us find a hiking path and convinced us to go visit the Riffelsee Lake. We are so grateful for his kindness and willingness to help us. We hope to come back as guests next time we are in Zermatt. Thank you!

This was our second visit to Riffelalp 2222 and we will return again. The service and location are exceptional. The views are stunning. The Al Nico restaurant is one of our favorites we ate at during our month in Switzerland. We highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Zermatt.

Yelp
Beautiful room with Matterhorn view. Wonderful service and excellent location. Many hikes around. The Gotnegrat station is just 3 stations up. Not much tourist here. Quiet and tranquille.

Yelp
Loved the apple streudel at the Rifflehaus area. Every morning after several ski runs, we'd pop in here and have the streudel with cappuccino - delish

Yelp
Great service, great food. Pricey for their portions, but a seriously killer cappuccino, top beef carpaccio, and some of the best gelato I've had. It was a great stop on the way down the mountain
