Very friendly service and super helpful.
They even brought our bike down the mountain to our hotel after a crash.
Thank you!

We came here for an afternoon snack and it was very nice, the ladies that work here are very kind and the pastries are good. Coffee is great as well. Great place to stop on your way to the mountain.

Had the best wee time here, it has a real family run feel and some banging cakes and pies, seemingly baked fresh. The service was top, views amazing, rooms are decent if on the simpler side, food is tasty albeit not as good as some other huts. If you’re doing the Alta Via 1 trail it’s a little off the trail, an easy chair lift down from Averau, and about a 45 minute walk up a quiet enough road to Passo Giau.

We stopped here for desert and OMG - the best cakes I’ve ever eaten and I’m a big cake person. The pistachio and the raspberry blue me away. Divine.

Arrived here on foot by hiking down from Monte Nuvolau, we found it quieter than the Rifugios Averau and Nuvolau we'd stopped into earlier in the day. Were greeted by a couple of charming older ladies and noted their unusually large selection of tarts in the glass display case. The twin room was unremarkable. Enjoyed using the customised long stick provided to open and close the high roof window. The presence of a TV in the room made it feel like we had descended from the purer world of mountain huts and were staying in an earthly hotel. Whether you find this a good or a bad thing will depend on your relationship with the high altitude Dolomite experience, with its patchy phone coverage and scarcity of accessible WiFi (Rifugio Fedare also had good WiFi, at least for guests. The woman looking after us was a universal grandmotherly type who spoke very little English but was happy to comply with our every request. The food was surprisingly good. I'd recommend the Tris de Canederli, which came with a very welcome salad of finely sliced cabbage dressed in a well-judged dressing and caraway seeds. I wouldn't recommend the Polenta con Salsiccia e Farmaggio Fuso: just a slice of polenta, a sliced of melted cheese and a salty, burger-like sausauge (see pic.) Breakfast was okay. Some eggs, muesli or brown bread would've been appreciated.

No email response for months. Phone # listed on website is not in service. How would people make reservations? They are not alone though. Many Dolomite’s rifugios cannot be booked on line, and do not respond email requests either. I guess you might have to be referred by someone in order to make reservations.

Had a lovely stay here in the September during Alta Via 1. It's just off the chair lift down from Averau. Dinners and breakfast were good, friendly staff, beautiful views.

Always stop here for elevenses and head back here for lunch when skiing the Cinque Torri area.
They do a cracking Bombardino as an alternative to a morning Cappuccino.
My go-to lunch dish is their homemade Goulash - best in the Dolomites.
Ideal warming dish on a cold winter's day.
Superb views. Friendly service.
