Nice atmosphere and great service. The food is average. Was definitely expecting more for the price charged.

This place was recommended to us by the hotel concierge as local place before the football match. We love the local "beergartens", so said why not? The place is unique, the garden outside is amazing, nice vibe, lot of lavender :-) They served nice and cold beer and we also ate. Indeed, 35 CHF for burger with fries is quite a lot, but hey - you can check the menu in advance and go somewhere cheaper. What we liked especially was the staff - we were served by thin, tall, bald gentleman - thank you for nice serving moments. If you like the place where you feel local, but dont care that much about food, you have just found it!

I was there because of a company evenwt. Very friendly and attentive staff (they were really worried about my food allergies). Food was delicious.

Very rustic and not a grooviepeople place, Cosy and warm. You eat where once the horses fed. Fast and friendly service. No music that pains your ears! Great garden in warm season! I recommend this place.

Generous portion sizes of delicious food! Recent review: Jan 2024 Again delicious food but the server was a bit rude, maybe his off-day 🤷🏻‍♀️ but it ruined my mood

Yelp
(3.5 stars) Really loved the ambiance here, we were outside and the backyard garden feel makes for a really pleasant evening. The food was pretty tasty too, really liked the fish and the pumpkin purée, though it was quite small and I was still quite hungry afterwards. I do wish the fish had a little more seasoning or sauce to make each bite pop. The house salad was a refreshing opener, really loved the dressing. The food is definitely expensive, though for Zurich it seems like that's the norm. The bread to start is a nice surprise, though a dipping sauce, spread, or oil would've been a welcome complement.

Yelp
A cool restaurant in the city center of Zurich. It's located in an old military stables. Walking in I loved the ambience and the waiting staff was really helpful and nice. They have both german and english menus, which is great if you have visitors in town. We had a large party with 9+ people and the service was great the entire night. For the food we all started with a salad. I had the Nusslisalat, which was really yummy! A few people had the mixed salad which they also said was yummy but not anything special. For the main course I had the Brasato with mashed potatoes. It was good but nothing super special. I also tried the Lemon Ravioli which are homemade. I was really not impressed with these as they tasted like a lemon poppy seed muffin and not like ravioli at all. A few people had the Cordon bleu which they enjoyed and said the cheese was very melted and "oozed out" when they cut into it. Overall, a nice restaurant in Zurich with a cool atmosphere and great for a larger group. everyone in my group agrees its a 4/5 overall review with the food rated as 3/5.

Yelp
Dined here while visiting Zürich this winter and enjoyed the meal very much. You dine inside an old horse stable, adding a veneer of history to the place. You sit at long tables -- which we didn't really mind at all, as there was plenty of room for comfort -- and running along the walls of both sides of the interior are old water and food troughs (emptied, of course), adding to the ambiance. It was only fitting that I order the Pferdefilet (horse filet), which was glazed with a light pepper sauce and sat next to vegetables and, of course, a side of frites. Having been the first time ordering horse, I tried it medium rare and the piece tasted nearly identical to NY strip -- albeit a tad chewier. Service was terrific as well. We didn't feel the slightest resentment at speaking English (they do have an English menu, for those who don't speak German), and delivery of food and drinks was prompt. If you're visiting Zürich, be sure to stop by this place for lunch or dinner.

Yelp
Yeeeeep, 5 stars. I will tell you why. :) The service was impeccable. Perfect timing, friendly, etc.. The food was so yummy. I ordered the daily menu which starts with soup or salad, I chose salad, natürlich, and a gnocchi as my main. The gnocchi was served al forno with béchamel and tomato sugo. The flavour combination was really good and the portion was the perfect size for me. For a grown man..? Eh....arguable. Of course the indoor decor is unlike any other restaurant I have ever been...truly interesting to sit there and look around. I am excited to go back, already... (and I am still full from lunch!)

Yelp
Ja, ganz ok, I would say. The only thing impressive about Reithalle is the interior. I like the long wooden tables on one side and the old barn effect. I found the food to be good (average). The seeteufel was moist and tender, but it was obviously salted upon service and not prior to pan frying. The saffron cream sauce it lied in was very mild. Yes, saffron's expensive, but use it right. Staff was sufficiently friendly, though we constantly had to hunt for servers for everything little thing.

Yelp
A nice restaurant next to Gessnerallee. In the same building as the theatre Gessnerallee you will find a restaurant. It is also in the horse stall buidling, and it still has the look and feel of it. I like the place for his interior, the food is OK but nothing special. People recommended me to try the "moules frites"... that was a mistake. I have to admitt that I am picky with "moules frites". It was still OK, just not the best in town. The service is OK and the prices are like everywhere in Zurich. It is a good place to go before you go to a play at Gessnerallee.

Yelp
I've only ever been here for the drinks and not the food, so I can't comment on the later. I think this place used to be a stable and was converted into a restaurant/bar, and the interior is pretty cool. I love coming here to catch up with friends: it's comfortably quiet, the price of the wines is more than reasonable, and the waiters/bartenders are friendly. In the summer, it's nice to sit outside in their courtyard terrace and enjoy a drink.

Yelp
Great during the summer to sit outside. Good food. Tip: order the beer at the bar yourself.

Yelp
The best thing about this place is the garden restaurant in Summer. You can generally find a place without making a reservation. However, the service is a bit odd. You have to get the drinks yourself at the bar, but the food will be brought to the table. However you have to pay right away, which makes you feel not very welcome. The food is average and generally in quite small portions, in particular compared to the prices.
