Rijks Country House

Our short stay at Rijks made our breakaway and anniversary memorable A real retreat. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Great service, good food, comfortable rooms with stunning views and facilities. Excellent all round. Highly recommended.

Very nice and senic there on the wine farm. The staff is helpful and friendly. The food is good. The rooms are spacious but it needs a good paint inside and outside. The carpets in the room can do with a shampoo. The guest property is currently under ownership change.

This quiet, cosy, tranquil, scenic, with friendly and accommodating staff makes for the perfect couples getaway. Good food at the Coals restaurant. The beauty and serenity was surprising. Contemporary Cape Dutch charm. Our short stay didn't allow us to experience everything that was available or on offer. Definitely coming back for more

We spent a weekend in Rijks Country House's family cottage with our 11 months old twins. The place is beautiful and really well taken care of. The service was amazing too. They made sure we had two cots in our room before our arrival and the family cottage was childproofed, clean and beautifully decorated. The details on the cottage were thought through perfectly. It had a fireplace, air conditioning/heater, and panel heaters.It had a fridge, kettle and a microwave. Coffee, teas and rusks. Cold and hot breakfast where included in our tariffs and it was a really good breakfast. They also served dinner at our cottage. We also booked the services of a really nice child minder for some hours and it worked perfectly for us. The place is really quiet and at the same time really close to town. We will be definitely coming back.

Very nice place. Service are great and the staff wonderful and friendly. When we arrived for dinner there was load shedding and they explain to us that some dish is not available. After the food came the power went on and the Chef personally brought us a bowl with chips for the table!! Wonderful. 100% for him!!!

Rijks is a wonderful little boutique winery nestled in the hills of the breathtaking Tulbagh. They only have a small selection of wine, but that makes the wine so much better! Noncommercialised and produced in small batches, you can most definitely taste the difference. They also have a small selection of meals on their menu. We had the burger and it was absolutely scrumptious! I can definitely recommend this farm to anyone. Just note that because it is a boutique winery, their wines are a bit more expensive (but definitely worth it).

Last wine famr on out weekend away trip. Ended up having lunch. Gourmet burgers were delicious. All the Aunties were super special to make us feel welcomed back.

Beautiful setting, friendly and professional staff not to mention quality restaurant contributed to us having a wonderful stay here. It really is an oasis of chilled sophistication just outside the village of Tulbugh.
