Rimondi Boutique Hotel (Crete, Greek Islands) 4 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"There’s a certain restraint on display at Rimondi Estate. Not that a gorgeous all-suite hotel in an impossibly picturesque Cretan town counts as roughing it, exactly, but indulgence here tends to take the form of light and space, fragrant poolside gardens and Aegean breezes rather than, say, a big-name restaurant or an array of futuristic workout machines. In fact, floor-to-ceiling windows and white-on-white interiors are about as futuristic as it gets — and they’ve been doing white-on-white for a very long time around here, for good reason." - Tablet Hotels

This was a return visit: we enjoyed our time there so much last year. Love the old town, and this hotel is right in the middle, yet still a quiet spot, you forget about the hustle and bustle outside. Breakfast in the courtyard is so civilised. The superior double room was nice and spacey, this is a very old building and it has kept its charm, though the bathroom seemed rather dark, just a small light in there, and the room lacks available plug sockets, I had to unplug a couple of lamps so we could charge our phones, and have to unplug the kettle to use the hairdryer.

We reserved a room at this hotel for 3 nights. We arrived and they had placed us, not in the hotel, but in a housekeeping apartment several blocks away. Up two flights of stairs with no railings (my husband has mobility issues) we found a soulless apartment with no views. Off the bedroom is a sun-bleached patio with a hot tub, the room so hot the small a/c cannot cool the space. This is in the end of September, so ij am sure it is unbearable in the summer. The host tried hard to sell us on what a great space it was, and how it was only a few blocks to use the pool at the hotel. 0Personally, i was not expecting to have to hike through the town for a swim. Breakfast wasn’t included in our room (another 12 euro each daily) and parking another 22 euros a day. Of course, they were very nice, left some water, fruit, and traditional treats in the room. But this is definitely not the small leading hotels of the world experience we had agreed to. We feel misled by the hotel, and extremely disappointed that we have o spend our precious few vacation days searching for a place to stay.

Excellent boutique hotel in the heart of Rethymno Old Town. Room so comfortable with separate sitting area and large balcony overlooking the Fortezza of Rethymno. Excellent choice of breakfast with cooked egg dishes available if required and always such a warm welcome. Amazing staff all so friendly and knowledgeable. Our flight home didn’t depart until late evening and hotel provided shower facilities for us before our departure. Thank you all for making this such a wonderful holiday. True Cretan hospitality.

We had a lovely, relaxing stay at Rimondi boutique hotel. Beautifully appointed rooms but the highlight for us was breakfast each morning and Evangilia's warm smiling welcome; it felt like being "home" to have her greet us each day, she provided advice on things to do/see and always asked about our previous day. The pool area is like a piece of paradise. The location is within a 5 minute walk to everything. My only suggestion is to install quiet close mechanisms on the doors (the doors tend to slam and some guests are not considerate). Otherwise a wonderful choice.

Just returned from another wonderful stay at the Rimondi, which feels like coming home every time we visit - which we’ve now been doing for 10 years! The people, from management including Yiannis and Eleni, to the wonderful housekeeping ladies (including the kind hearted Georgia - we love you!) and everyone else in between (Evaggelia is an angel!), everyone goes out of their way to make sure you are well cared for.||We stay in one of the Palazzo maisonettes overlooking the courtyard and small pool, but all rooms are meticulously maintained every day with fresh towels, and replacement tea/coffee. Housekeeping works *extremely* hard! ||The Rimondi keeps us coming back to Rethymno every year and we couldn’t imagine staying anywhere else - not just because of its location and facilities, but the people we now consider good friends. We’ll be back next year :)||ps: if you’re going, say hi to Betty the white cat for us. She seems to love the place and the guests - obviously she’s a cat with good taste!

We wanted to find a nice boutique hotel to visit in Greece. Rethymnon had always been on our 'to-visit' list and I'd spotted a number of suitable properties in the heart of the historic Old Town (we are not always fanatical about being near the beachfront and often prefer to laze on a nice balcony). The Rimondi absolutely met our requirements. A super-peaceful location (no vehicles on the little cobbled laneways, just the odd scooter or two) with mostly bird song for a soundtrack. A little more bustle in the evenings as people were out and about but nothing remotely 'noisy'! A good breakfast each morning with lovely service was included in our rate. We selected the Master Suite as the split-level looked cool and it did feel really cozy with an amazingly comfy bed. A step out through what was effectively a window led to a lovely little sun terrace/balcony with a table, chairs and a couple of loungers. Perfect! We would highly recommend the almost-adjacent taverna "Kapilio" (turn right out of the hotel main building reception and it's immediately in front of you). We were directed here by the friendly front-of-house staff on our first evening and found it lovely. We could walk endlessly around the Old Town, it is so picturesque and the Venetian harbour is literally a 10min stroll. Further along takes you to the beach and the busier seafront tourist zone. All in all, a great stay in a super little hotel full of character, charm and Greek hospitality. Σας ευχαριστούμε πολύ για τη φιλοξενία σας.

Booked a standard room in the rimondi boutique hotel rethymno old town, as a base as thought should be of a reasonable standard. Unfortunately this was not the case.||Our standard room was extremely dark with hardly any natural light and overlooked bins from adjacent restaurants. There was a very bad smell from the bathroom drains and told to keep a de humidifier on to presumably improve matters. Unfortunately it was so loud had to be turned off during the night by which time the smell returned. On the positive side. The staff were all lovely and put no blame onto them. I think the standard rooms need to be updated and photos shown to be of the room you actually have booked. As these did not correspond with what we were given. In the whole 2 weeks the breakfast was identical every day and very average. For us it was OK but feel the cost of the higher standard rooms would expect more of the breakfast offered.

A gorgeous hotel set in the old town of Rethymno. The staff were lovely and friendly. A lovely selection of food at breakfast. It was like a little oasis. Highly recommend it!! I was travelling on my own so it was absolutely PERFECT!!
