Beautifully presented dishes however the food and service quality was not at the $240 price point. The sushi rice was hard and the fish quality was average, we also had to constantly flag down the waitress for more tea (mind you there were only 2 parties = 4 people including us). Other than the presentation, nothing was very special.

Rin had got to be one of the best experiences I've had with Japanese cuisine in Toronto. This restaurant is by far one of the best settings, service, and arrangements of food. Even though it's listed as "Omakase", but truly what you're experiencing is more of "Kaiseki" of Chef Jin's expertise. As this is not just sushi for the whole dining experience. Every dish was very well thought out and prepare with care by Chef Jin. Being able to watch him take such care putting everything together, show how much heart and passion he puts into each dish and item. I am a Japanese culture fanatic, and I wanted to experience what I have while I visit everytime. Chef Jin was truly able to bring back a lot of experience and memories while I was in Japan. The restaurant setting and ambience was quite on par, and the servers were very attentive. It really felt like they've brought Japan to me that evening. It was a big bonus to have smooth jazz music playing in the background to accompany the ambience. Which a lot of people didn't know that, jazz music is a big part of Japanese music culture. That is why when you visit Japan, a lot of bars, restaurants, and cafe plays jazz music in the background. Overall, I highly recommend anyone that is looking for a great experience to come visit Rin Sushi. Take your time to savour every bite, and let the dishes create memories.

My wife and I visited to celebrate my birthday. We were wondering if quality sushi can be had outside of downtown Toronto and we were quite satisfied with the food at Rin Sushi. The interior was quite large for a Omakase but that just meant more space between us and other guests. We had a good view of Jin (Executive Chef) preparing our meals. He was great! Very knowledgeable (over 20 years of experience) and was very welcoming to us. Took time and thoroughly explained his cooking philosophy and what was being served. Food was excellent as well. Especially the uni handroll and the mackerel sushi. The uni handroll was so fresh and the texture of buttery smooth uni mixed with crunch seaweed had us wanting for more. I personally loved the mackerel as it was so meaty that it felt like I was eating a steak. Of course, all omakases are quite expensive but would love to visit again since making a trek to downtown is quite difficult for people north of Steeles.

Our first omakase experience was a success. Thank you to our gracious host and chef. We availed the regular omakase meal priced at $170 per person. The fish selection was fresh. The style of cooking varied from fresh to grilled to torched. We loved the ender which was a filling truffle mushroom rice dish.

Had the best time here for omakase! We went during non peak hours (around 5pm) and I highly recommend to go when it's not as busy because we were the only party the chef was serving so it felt like we booked out the entire restaurant. Chef Jin was able to explain all the dishes and answer our questions about the ingredients in a lot of detail. You can he really has a passion and dedication to his craft. The ambience was very nice with jazz playing in the background. Now the food itself was amazing 10/10. My first time at omakase and wow I can really taste a difference between the sushi he serves vs. a typical sushi restaurant. He served a wide assortment of fishes I've never eaten before, they were all so fresh! The highlights were definately the super fresh and sweet uni, the fatty tuna, and truffle rice. If I could only eat 1 dish for the rest of my life, it would be that truffle rice with real truffle shaved on top. The chef and server were very accommodating and made sure we were well taken care of. Omakase can be pricey but this place was worth every penny. This would be the perfect place to take your loved ones to for any special occassion.

Google
This was best omakase in GTA for us. We've tried Yasu, Skippa, Miku, and Zen in the past few years but none of them nailed every dish so perfectly as Sushi Rin. It's crazy how their rating is so low... We are so glad that we took the chance despite the lower ratings to try this place out. The only thing we noticed was that the vibe could be improved and the service, especially given the high price point. It was way too bright with not really any mood. With more attentive waitress/waiter and better lighting, we think it's a serious Michelin contender since the dishes were on par or even better than a lot of the Michelin stars we've been to before.

Google
An intimate dining experience with your chef. Delicious and very fresh fish. Reminds me of Japan! I recommend the sushi tasting menu over the full tasting menu. There is more value in the lessor one. The extra money for a few small pieces of beef and other small dishes doesn't seem worth it to me. Maybe because my friends and I can do wagyu at the same or higher level. Chef was very accommodating with us taking photos, very knowledgeable and very personable. However one critical point I'd like to make to Rin is that when you're charging $180 per person don't use disposable chopsticks and paper napkins... You're not an all you can eat sushi joint 😉

Google
Visited Rin Sushi on Valentine's day and Chef Jin did not disappointed. This restaurant only serves one omakase menu for $195 per person. Highlights for me was the tamago tofu with foie gras, truffle mushroom rice and the uni toro hand roll! I've had many toro uni hand rolls but this is the best I've had. It has some crispy bits and the uni just melts in your mouth. Would come back just for the handroll.

Yelp
We came here on our anniversary and couldn't have asked for more! Service, food, atmosphere = excellent Chef Jin and Victoria were very knowledgeable and friendly. We really enjoyed the dinner! We also got a pretty dessert. Couple days later, they announced that they're temporarily closed and I was so sad! I hope they reopen soon and hopefully somewhere with less competition (since there are so many omakese along hwy 7...)

Yelp
Toronto sushi scene suck to begin with. Good to come once. Service is nice and friendly. Food is just mediocre for the price. Food is fine but for the price I won't be coming back for to value. Egg tofu was great. Broth was delicious. Sashimi platter was nice. Wagyu sukiyaki was served cool, they can at least serve it warm and bring a warmer with the dish. It was a waste being cold and I had no desire for the onsen egg Tamago sushi wasn't not a good dense cake that some chef prefer to use. They might as well stuck to the traditional egg sushi or not serve it at all. Dessert a nice watermelon sorbet but it didn't go with anything else on the dish. Rather go back to Shoushin, Skippa, Aburi Hana, Zen. No need to come back. Okay to come and try it out for variety in the city.

Yelp
Celebrated father's day and the experience was great. We ordered the $220 Omakase Set which includes the A5 Japanese Wagyu. All the fish were super fresh and the chef took his time to explain some of the dishes he served. The waitresses were super nice and took their time to explain each dish. Service, ambiance, and food were all incredible. Definitely worth coming again!

Yelp
Our large party came to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. The ambiance was really nice and cozy. I really liked how bright it was and it was a joy to see our chef prepare everything. We did the $160 omakase. I thoroughly enjoyed everything presented to me, and my favourite non-sushi plate was the truffle kamameshi and kasujiru - truffle mushroom rice. I would've eaten another bowl! I enjoyed the fresh fish and everything felt like it melted in my mouth. Dessert was tasty and my boyfriend even got a personalized birthday dessert! I've eaten at many omakases and this is one I would return to.

Yelp
COVID fancy sushi dining tonight. We've passed by quite a few times but have never tried it pre-COVID. Hubby loves sushi and so he decided to try. I'm not much into it but will eat the cooked pieces. As you can see, he feasted as his mom also enjoys it. For myself and the kids, we got the tempura bento box and Gindara box. The tempura had some interesting veggies that aren't normally in tempura like okra. It was average but the sauce was quite nice with a hint of ginger. The gindara was thick but a bit fishy, so I've had better. As for the sushi and sashimi, my hubby who is quite picky, praised its freshness (especially the uni). Presentation was definitely 5 stars. Gold flakes, wooden boxes... all wrapped in a pretty cloth. Oh, and the soy sauce came in eye droppers! The freshness of the fish created a feast for the eyes.

Yelp
Rin Sushi 倫 is GTA's NEWEST spot for Omakase, and it is only 2 weeks old! Be sure to make a reservation, they seem to have certain seating times to coordinate with each chef. My friend and I were randomly paired with Cho-San, and he was fantastic! Random fact: Rin 倫 = The 倫 in 多倫多 aka Toronto. #mindblown lol Rin sushi is currently offering 2 menus at this time: 1. Omakase Sushi - $90 for 10 pcs of sushi 2. Omakase Course - $170 for 4 appetizers, 10 pcs of sushi, 1 tuna bell sushi roll wrapped with fresh, crispy seaweed imported from Japan and 2 kinds of desserts at the end. The 4 appetizers were delicious! I loved the variety of flavours, textures, and presentation. The cold chawanmushi with uni and yuzu zest was the highlight of the 4. The 10 pcs of sushi were very fresh and of quality, especially the uni aka sea urchin. OH. MY. GOD. The uni was so sweet, and it melts right in your mouth. Ooo also, be sure to ask for the spicy homemade ginger on the side. it is SO SPICY, I love it. My jaws dropped when the first dessert came out. It was the Japanese musk melon that I often see in anime and TV shows lol. It is the sweetest melon I've ever tasted. It was overriped to the point that it doesn't look as appealing and it was very mushy to taste, but that's just my opinion lol. The second dessert was the Strawberry sorbet and it was very refreshing, I loved it. Overall, 4.5 stars. $170 is definitely on the steeper end, and I felt like I can actually still eat more after this dinner lol. I'd come back just for the Omakase Sushi next time when I have sushi cravings!

Yelp
Birthday dinner! We conveniently made our reservation through yelp. They texted to confirm our reservation, called the day of and also texted again to remind us of our reservation. A little over the top maybe, but certainly you cannot forget you made plans. Upon entering, there's a line of chairs along a sushi counter. We were seated further down the line in front of Kevin, the head chef. Yes, he's Chinese but no matter - he was absolutely professional, courteous and very friendly. You could tell he took great joy in his work. We ordered the sushi omakase. It was easy to get carried away and eat without taking pictures. By the time we remembered, we already had 3 pieces. My absolute favourite one was the akaebi with otoro and Uni inside. Some of the other memorable pieces included the uni, the chutoro and a bunch I don't remember the name of. Lol. They use a seasoned rice so it's not "white". The tamago at the end was fantastic. It had a smooth texture and almost a Cakey top. To top it off, we had a wonderful thing of cheesecake - small but by far my favourite. They also offered a single matcha mousse as a birthday treat followed by the most prized green melon to complete the whole meal. Loved it. Will be back again! Kevin was an excellent host.

Yelp
I heard this newly open place from my friend and decided to try it out with my husband. We went with the sushi omakase menu, which consisted of 10 pieces of sushi, one hand roll, one piece of tamago and melon. Despite the small portion which can only feed me 80% full (I'm a small eater btw), the freshness and selection of their fish is great. The dishes I liked include the hand roll which had the perfect ratio of rice, fish and super crispy seaweed, the uni sushi which melted immediately in my mouth, the fatty chu-toro sushi, the mackerel sushi and the Shima aji sushi. The otoro though was not as fat as I expected, not much different from the chutoro. We also ordered the special foie gras sushi. The special sauce made of fig on top highlighted the yummy flavour of the foie gras and it did not taste greasy at all. Something to improve: compared to other restaurants offering omakse sushi menu such as yasu, the portion of the fish here was smaller and the rice was not soft enough. For one of the dishes I had, the rice collapsed when I picked it up. Although it's a bit pricy considering the portion of the dishes, it's generally a restaurant offering decent food. We would like to give it another try in the future hoping that they fine tune the problems.

Yelp
First time back since COVID, and I am terribly disappointed. The service was not there nor was the quality for the price you're paying. The serving pace was too quick and felt rushed. The waitresses were reaching over our shoulders at the wrong time and serving our next dishes while we haven't finished the one prior. It's certainly a different experience from what I last remembered. I don't think I'll becoming back. P.S. They also removed the $90 omakase option and only has the $170 option.

Yelp
My friends organized an omakase birthday dinner for me. All the fish served to us were fresh and well plated. The texture of each fish was food too. The fish were firm and not watery. There was a fall theme so there were maple leaves as decoration on some plates. The sake we ordered was smooth, sweet, and floral. It wasn't too dry and went well with the fish. At the end, the chef surprised me with a special birthday dessert. I had a great birthday experience!

Yelp
I was debating between 3 stars or 4stars. I decided to go with 4stars because service and humor from.the chef was exceptional. Food: nothing spectacular. That would be my honest opinion. Tasty? Yes not bad. But comparing fish to fish this won't be my favorite place. The cooked food options were alright. Also nothing spectacular or innovative. I feel when I opted for the more expensive menu I would've gotten more. But I was a little disappointed. Service: great service fantastic staff support. Not sure if it was because we were the only ones at the restaurant. Chef was quite funny but for him to tell me he learnt a lot of his chef skills from his short time at shoushin and the majority of the time was on YouTube was kind of interesting. Considering the price per person. Overall: I want to say not bad. But u arnt missing out much if you skip this omakase joint. Perhaps a good spot for a simple dinner not a good spot to start your first omakase experience.

Yelp
Came here with my mom after work for a 530 seating. We were the first one and had the place to ourselves for the most part as it was really early. Love the simplistic, modern & Japanese decor of the resto. Very clean , sleek and comfortable. Didnt have much expectation as it was fairly new however overall had a great experience! The nigiri were all delicious and even though i dont particularly like wasabi - the amount the chef put was perfect. Fresh fish and the handroll at the end was delicious with the super crunchy seaweed. The housemade tomago was delicious - the texture was much more smooth and creamy. The chef was super friendly and chatted a bit with us. Service was also on point! My mom was very pleased and enjoyed this omakase experience!

Yelp
I have missed omakase (blind menu / chef's choice) meals and searched for a restaurant that serves omakase on Yelp. My first choice was fully booked and I chose this restaurant since there are good reviews on Yelp. I am disappointed to learn that the restaurant has no liquor license upon arrival. I hope that they could give me a heads up when I made the reservation. I mean how can one eats sushi without sake. Anyhow, I will ask this question next time. I can only blame on myself not smart enough. The omakase I ordered cost $170 and it comes with 4 appetizers and 11 pieces of sushi and at last a dessert. I really want to give the chef a compliment. He is very patient and skillful in making each of the appetizers and sushi one after another. He also has a good knowledge of each of the fish he prepared. Among the appetizers, I like ox tail. The sauce tasted good with the smokey flavour from the ox tail and the veggies. Although I love uni, sea urchin, the sea urchin with steamed egg in the appetizer was tasteless. Among the variety of sushi, the western trout is the most outstanding to me. I could taste the freshness of the fish as well as the yuzu sauce applied on top of the fish to bring out the flavour. I actually ordered an another piece at the end of the dinner. Second or third best is/are the chutoro (middle toro) and ootoro (big toro). They just melted in your mouth. When I have finished all the main courses in the omakase dinner, the chef asked if I were full. Actually I was and yet he made an extra hand roll for me. Then came the dessert. It was a melon sobert with yogurt sauce next to it. On top of the sorbert, there were a few tiny slices of cucumber-like vegetables and a few shiso flowers. At first, I thought I had heard it incorrectly, "shiso flowers?" I have never seen one before. After I have testified it, they tasted the same as the shiso leaf. I thought I was done with this dessert. Once again, the chef was generous enough to offer an egg pudding for a second dessert item. I could taste sake inside of the egg pudding and yet sweet. It was quite an experience. The good quality of the food and the knowledgeable/generous chef have covered my disappointment. 12 pieces altogether and a hand roll on the house + egg pudding

Yelp
It is my first time going to Rin sushi, and I believe it is the only omakase in Richmond Hill. Similar to other omakase dining places, it only has sushi counter seats. We ordered one $90 and $170. The difference is one has 10 pieces sushi and melon for dessert, while the other one has soup, sashimi, appetizer, 12 pieces sushi and sorbet for dessert. The ingredients are toro, scallop, shrimp, uni, bluefin tuna and so on. They are all very fresh. For the dessert, it mentions that the melon is from Japan, but I really cannot taste much difference between the one from Japan or not. On the other hand, the melon sorbet has a bit of surprise. It could be one of my pick for omakase if you don't want to drive to downtown area.

Yelp
The newest addition to Toronto's omakase sushi options! Rin offers an omakase sushi and an omakase course, which includes the sushi as well as four appetizers and dessert. I opted for the sushi course, and it was absolutely delicious! We started with firefly squid sashimi which was full of umami. The four appetizers were cold chawanmushi with ikura, smoked sawara sashimi, king crab tempura, and cooked tai with an incredibly crispy skin. With the first four dishes, there no doubt that quality ingredients are served and beautifully presented in unique imported Japanese plates and bowls. Moving onto the sushi course, we were first served hirame, kanpachi, sayori, three amazing cuts of tuna, ika, geoduck, aji, uni from Hokkaido, and finally an amazing crisp negitoro handroll. The neta was fresh and seasonal. We ended the meal with a mouth watering slice of Japanese musk melon which was incredibly juicy and sweet! Cho-san is incredibly kind and friendly, which is extremely important as a sushi chef serving at the sushi counter. He presented the boxes of fish, showed us types of uni, explained about the fish and where it was from - what more can you ask for? I absolutely recommend giving Rin Sushi a try! Beautifully decorated, you'll feel like you just took a flight to Japan. But just make sure to call for a reservation.

Yelp
I am a sushi fanatic so when I discovered this newly opened omakase spot in Markham, I just HAD to try! I decided to go with the $90 omakase which consists 10 pieces of sushi and a handroll. I had such an amazing experience here! Everything was perfect from the exceptional service to the delicious food. They serve Fiji water there, talk about boujee, haha! The restaurant is small - only about 20 seats at the bar. They don't have any tables - which I do like! I love watching the chefs work their magic. The sushi here is fantastic! Comparable to many omakase spots in downtown Toronto. Each piece is so fresh and delicious. My favourites of the night was the striped jack, scallop, and of course UNI! The chef is really friendly and entertaining as well. He made sure everything tasted to our liking. To finish dinner, we were given the sweetest honeydew from Japan that I've ever had. Honestly nothing but good things to say about this restaurant! Looking forward to my next visit.

Yelp
Was really excited for a new omakaze place in the Richmond Hill/Markham area but was sorely disappointed. Review is for the $90 omakaze meal. The meal jumps straight into 10 pieces of sushi, tamago, hand roll, melon. No bells or whistles as part as omakase goes. You're not paying for the experience, cause there really isn't any. Quality of the sushi was mediocre. Highlights of the night were the chu-toro, shrimp, uni. But the rest was pretty average. One flag for me was when I saw all the fish pre-sliced on a plate. And I'm not a sushi snob, okay maybe I am. But I've been to yasu and other places enough to not see it served and handled like that. At least try to hide it. The staff was very polite, courteous, friendly. I really didn't care where they came from, they were very nice people. The other option was a $170 meal and I wasn't ready to invest since it was my first time here. Wish they had a price point around $130-140 with either a premium sushi selection or appys. Something that added some pizazzzzzzzz

Yelp
Given so many good reviews of this restaurant, we wanted to try it out since we love omakase and also we did put our expectation higher for this restaurant. The server were great, they were friendly, nice and polite. They were constantly filing our water/sake and when we finished the meal they quickly came to clean up the table for us. We were kinda disappointment with the sushi chef, he was not fully attended to us. He left his own station and went to joke around with other customers who was serve by another chef. He also suddenly paused our service and took 10 mins to cooked more rice. Most of the fish that was served are fresh, but few tasted fishy. We did tried other omakase before with lower/higher price, and this was I feel pricey with this kind of service and food. Overrated.

Yelp
Brought my boyfriend here to celebrate his birthday! We did the $90 10 piece sushi omakase option! I would say this is one of the cheaper omakase locations compared to others in Toronto. Service was great and fish was fresh! The chef would tell us where the fish came from each time (the uni was from Hokkaido, Japan!). All in all, I would come back!

Yelp
came here with my japanese friend at 730 on a wednesday night to try this place out. reservation not required as it wasnt busy. FYI - this place is not run by japanese.. one of the chef was conversing in mandarin with the other customers. (i could clearly hear what the chef was saying when we were literally sitting at the very end of the bar.. about 12 seats away) everything started off really well, and then the food came... we ordered the $170 course with 4 appy and dessert btw 1. chawanmushi appy was served cold - to our surprise. I liked it, it was topped with creamy uni. however it was a bit too chill 2. ika tempura appy was good. lightly battered with salt sprinkled on top. we were surprised how tender the squid was considered it was super thick cut! 3. soup: A-NO. it smelled really good and flavourful at first, but after you take the first sip, it will leave you speechless. its so bland that feel like it is missing something (we brought it up to the chef, he even admitted it was made last minute and not completed - so why serve it at all?) 4. my grill fish appy was undercooked = the middle was still raw. i thought it was some sort of torched fish fusion.. until my friend's fish was fully cooked. to be fair, the fish was good, not dry and pair up with the radish well 5. there was no consistency in the amount of wasabi used for the sushi.. the first few pieces was overloaded with it that i couldn't taste the freshness of the fish. i had to tell the chef to go easy on it 6. the fish was fresh though.. but none of them WOW'd me. i get super excited, huge smile on my face and a satisfying mmmmm squeak when i get the unexpected or surprise.. and that didnt happen tonight. 7. uni to rice ratio for the sushi was awesome. every piece of rice was covered with creamy uni! 8. the o-toro has tendon / stringy -_______- 9. chu-toro that served to us was soooo lean it shouldn't be considered chu-toro. but the chef explained the cut was considered chu-toro :S 10. the highlight for the night was the seaweed from the toro handroll. it was so crispy!!! ok, ill give some credit for the tuna.. the handroll was the highlight.. it wouldn't be without the seaweed though. 11. as for dessert, the melon was sweet and juicy!.. again, a bit too chill/cold though. couldve taken it out of the fridge earlier when we were finishing up our last 2 pieces. 12. the sorbet we got was rice sorbet, with ginger cream and sake jelly. the sake was too strong and overpowered the whole dish. we told the chef to try, he came back speechless.. agreed with us. rice sorbet was interesting, really good when pair up with the ginger cream. something for us to leave with. overall service was ok, definitely not up to the authentic japanese omakase experience/standard. sushi was served before we get our last appy.. which my friend was all ????. we got the soup AFTER the chef served us our first piece of sushi (which he apologized after). chef did not explain to us where the fish was from.. we had to ask what some of the pieces were as he was walking away. maybe he thought we are just two newbies who know nothing about food. ohhh and i got elbowed by the waitress clearing the table next to me when i sat still. was it worth my $220? helllllllllllllll no.

Yelp
Was busy eating and lazy to take pictures. Today was my first visit @ first wave to Rin @ 5:30pm Too bad today was the day that they finally got the liquor license and we didn't get to have any sake as the menu was not ready. I've been to 7-8 omakase-style restaurants in Toronto. Shousin, Zen, Tachi, Yasu etc etc Rin is definitely one of the better ones uptown. I see one of the other reviewer's comment about the owner/chef not being Japanese and getting so much hate. So, if you are Asian then you won't know how to make French pastries? This is a stupid comment. Judge it by the food and not the ethnicity of the chef. Overall, I liked the otoro, horse mackerel. Of course, like Zen, Shoushin, Tachi and Rin have the tuna roll in the end. Rin uses only the white part of the onion versus green part with Zen. Slightly different taste but very good. Chef's own twist on the tamago with scallop was interesting. I had to slow down to really taste the flavours. Will definitely come again. Gladf that we are finally getting more decent omakase uptown.

Yelp
I was taken here for my birthday dinner and I would rate this place a solid 4.5* considering the quality of the fish, service levels, seating space, cleanliness all was a solid 4.5**. I saw all these great ratings on Yelp and 1 poor rating so kind of had in mind that it was a one-off situation. Like the "1 star" review, I was a bit skeptical about Chinese-operated Japanese food, I mean these two cultures barely have anything in common aside from some physical features LOL...Japanese people have the highest standard in every single aspect of just living. From when we stepped into the restaurant, there were approximately 20 seats and all were sushi bar seats, this was simply amazing. I love watching the chefs' slicing the fish....amazing art! The only downfall was the loudness of restaurant, the other guests I mean....so when the chef was introducing each piece to us but the loudness of others made it so difficult for us to hear what the chef was trying to say to us. Other than that, which is fully out of their control, I didn't have any complaints. It was a beautiful thing... All in all, please give this place a try, well worth your dollar.

Yelp
Sushi here is fantastic! The rice has a bit more vinegar in it which really help lift the fish. The cooked food was all very delicious as well. Chef lin served us tonight and he did a great job. Sea eel was one of the highlights if the night. The tuna they served that night were melt in the mouth goodness. The servers were really polite like typical Japanese restaurants. The decor is comforting really reminded me of eating at sushi restaurants in Japan. This isnt just great sushi in uptown. It's better than the ones downtown. If you're living in the city and love sushi I would highly recommend making the trip up here.

Yelp
Walking into Rin was elegant yet simple. The hostess helps you hang your jacket before seating. The seating is a bar style, so the omakase experience is there. Quality of the sushi is awesome! Definitely a go try place for those that are looking for omakase in markham/richmond hill area.

Yelp
Rin is one of my favorite Japanese restaurant in GTA. Their chawanmushi was quite different than other restaurants, they served cold and topped with uni which was very interesting. The sashimi with uni inside went surprisingly well together. The grill fish seared with crispy skin paired with radish was very good. Wagyu beef is a must try dish served with wasabi and light salt. They cooked just the way it was and I like the favorable texture melted into my mouth. The chef did a great job explaining all the details of the sushi presented to us. I liked their high quality seaweed both with sushi and handroll were very crispy. Last, I had two sorbets one was rice sorbet mixed with sake was interesting. Another I loved the most was the melon sorbet, the owner told me that the melon was from Japan. Literally the flavor and the texture was very high quality. Service was excellent and professional. The servers knew exactly what to come to our table and did well explaining all the dishes presented to us. They are all very friendly and easy going, and made the experience much more enjoyable.

Yelp
Hands down the best omakase in GTA. I've tried a bunch of different ones and this one is the best as they tailor to your likings. Although traditional omakase can be boring, Rin takes it to the next level, it's really all about their personalized experience. The chefs are amazing, you can let them know your preference eg. I took a friend there once and they don't really eat super raw fish, the chef torched everything for him and he had a great experience as well! The service is always on par and the food is really really fresh compared to a lot of jap omakase places. You can taste it in the sweetness of the fish. Get their $200 dollar menu as if you are really a sushi lover, you will get it. I highly recommend this place and they also do private events up to21 people. Try it and you won't regret it.

Yelp
It was an amazing first time experience I had at this amazing place. Once we entered we got a nice warm welcome by the friendly staffs. Once we sat down they made sure we were well taken care. The food also comes at a really timely matter by the chefs. The atmosphere makes you feel at home as you can talk to your friend and enjoy the food coming to you at a timely matter. The chefs are also well knowledge and experienced as they will explain to you what kind of fish is being served to you and also explain where it originates from and how its caught. The servers made sure you have tea to refresh the taste in your mouth for you next one and so on. All in all I definitely recommend this place for people that wants good and fresh food and a comfortable atmosphere to dine in.

Yelp
Pretty good overall. Their chefs were trained by someone from Zen so it's pretty similar. The space is beautiful and quiet. It's a little overpriced but It's good sushi overall.

Yelp
Zen like restaurant with good service and amazing dishes. Honestly could not say anything negative on the food and my taste buds would agree. Why the 4/5? The prices are pretty steep. Travelling Japan, I know what is good quality and this place certainly has it. Top level to be honest but I don't feel like this kind of experience needs to be raping people's wallets as I know other restaurants that are a fraction of the price. So maybe that's why they opened in Richmond Hill and hope customers don't mind the price. Would come again but only for something really special. Oh and we spent $400 for 2 people =/

Yelp
Felt like we got scammed coming here. We booked this restaurant a week in advance, thinking we'd have a choice of either the $90 omakase or the $170 omakase (we were going to go for the $90 one that night). However on the night we went, the server told us they were having a "Christmas special" and that they did not have the two choices of omakase, but only a $145 omakase. So of course we had to go for that one, as there were no other choices. Don't get me wrong, the service and food quality and taste was AMAZING, but I did not think it was quite worth it for an extra appetizer and extra two pieces of sushi (compared to the $90 one). The fact that we were told the night of about this "special" and gave us no other choice... and we also had friends going the next day we went (dec 24), they did not have this "Christmas special" and were given the choice of the two omakase menus to choose from. We ended up paying $390 for two people (double the price of what we had originally wanted to begin with). At this price, we would have rather pay for the $170 omakase for more variety..
