A VIEW TO A CHILL
This beach resort on the western edge of Puerto Rico has plenty of solid island vibes.
With our vacation nearing the end, we booked a stay here for the night of 1/2/19. Check-in was simple, though I didn't appreciate the $50-60 resort fee they tacked onto our reservation (which pays for clean towels, maybe).
Our room was spacious and clean, featuring two queen beds. Apart from the mini fridge and a coffee maker, there weren't really many perks. We enjoyed a nice dinner at their on-site restaurant -- Brasas -- but sadly there was no complimentary breakfast.
The interior courtyard was suitably tropical and included one of those life-size chess boards. Some kids were messing around with it, though I could see a couple adults really getting into the game after a few drinks from the bar.
That brings us to their pool. Oh my WORD Rincon Beach Resort has got it going on. At several hundred feet long (with a mini island in the middle), it was directly adjacent to the beachfront, which bordered on the ocean. On a nice sunny day, there's nothing better.
I loved the rush of being able to come up for air after doing a lap underwater, and seeing the Caribbean in front of me. They've even got a swim-up bar! Too bad we didn't have enough time to take advantage of that. I'd definitely have a Sex on the Beach......and maybe a cocktail too, while I'm at it ;)
* TL;DR *
Beds were comfy and staff were nice enough, although our time at the hotel was pretty limited. We probably only spent 15 hours here (and slept for 9 of them) so I didn't get a full day's worth of activities. One night's stay was $190. Yikes!
Nichole C informed me that I should be "objective" and "not mean" in my review since the sky-high prices "aren't their fault". If breakfast were included, I'd think differently but just like Coral Princess in Condado, it's a lofty price to pay for paradise.
Rincon Beach Resort is a nice property with breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. It's not cheap, but good things in life rarely are.
