The food is unique and delicious. We really were impressed with the flavors. It was unfortunate. They only had one person working the bar and the floor so I had to get up a few times yes for the bill and to get water otherwise I would definitely recommend this again. I had the nachos. They were delicious and my family had both the fish tacos and the steak tacos, which were loaded with flavor.!

Google
This is one of my favorite places in all of Fairfield County for fish tacos, and empanadas. Although they are known for their enormous burritos and quesadillas, I love the freshness, the texture and flavor of their fish tacos, and recommended it to anyone in Norwalk. You won’t be disappointed.

Google
The food here was soo good. I ordered the chorizo quesadilla with the rice and beans. First of all the quesadilla was a great portion size, and was really good. Usually when I get the side order or rice and beans I don't expect much, but these could have been a main dish on their own!! They were that good. The employees were great, the decor around the restaurant made you feel like you were on vacation and the drinks were good as well. Great people, even better food!

Stopped in hoping to be blown away. Not quite. My friend and I ordered the guac to start, nothing special. I had a really good spicy margherita, I enjoyed it very much. We then had 1 chicken and 1 cheese empanada. They were both tasty. My friend ordered the braised beef quesadilla which was both our favorite dish. Then we had their enormous burrito. I was hoping it was as good as it looked but it was the most disappointing dish. We chose the chicken burrito and I immediately wished I had chosen the braised beef. The chicken was dry, tough and not tasty at all. I mentioned this to the waiter. He wasn't able to get the owner to care and address the bad chicken.

An absolute gem hidden away on the main drag. My boyfriend and I were driving up from Jersey to Mystic, CT and were lucky enough to stumble on this spot before their closing. The staff was kind and gracious; the atmosphere full of charm, bright colors, and retro travel posters; and the food was clearly made with only the *freshest* ingredients and to the highest standard. I cannot recommend this spot enough! The empanadas are to die for, but be warned - they’ll ruin all others for you!

This was our first visit to Rincon Taqueria, and certainly will not be our last. Started with chips and salsa. Taste great, but only the first round is free. However I doubt a second round will be needed because the portion sizes here are HUGE. The fish tacos were the most regular sized item we got. Absolutely great tacos. Tamales were gigantic and packed with meat and flavor. These were my girlfriends favorite. And the pork burrito….man this pork burrito. Easily the biggest burrito I’ve ever seen. Might even be too big, to the point where it’s difficult to eat. Not really a burrito anymore once you need a fork and a knife. We saw the pictures online and thought, “really how big could it be?” Trust me, it’s gigantic. Wouldn’t order the burrito again, but will be returning. The prices are high but it’s a good value with the portions. Also everything had scallions on it which was unexpected from Mexican food

Google
tables inside, and attending to a few take-out orders, she was busy, but I never felt as if I were waiting. She was on top of things. The food was good. I had a Cheese Empanada, Shrimp Taco and Fish Taco. The Cheese Empanada was good, the dough light and crispy, the cheese was simple, yet flavorful. It was served with a salsa that I thought was just ok. It was missing some depth of flavors. When the tacos came out, I was a bit worried that as they looked similar and I thought they were going to taste the same, but with just a different protein. To my surprise, they both had distinct flavors. I was also going to ask for salsa as I am accustomed to having Salsa Verde or Roja with my tacos. But again, to my surprise they didn't any additional salsa. Both tacos were very abundant, but also hard to eat. I was also disappointed that the tortillas didn't hold up well to the sauces and other ingredients in the tacos as they began to break apart. It's hard to say which taco I liked better - the flavor of the shrimp was better than the fish, but the other ingredients were more flavorful on the fish taco. I also thought the fried fish lack any fried crispiness. Overall I had a good experience. I wouldn't hesitate visiting again, but probably wouldn't make a special trip either.

Yelp
I've been coming to place since it first opened back in 2011 and still after all these years the food and service has never disappointed. Tonight with had a waiter named Alex and he was awesome. Tonight I had the steak fajita and the were incredible. The environment was so relaxed and comfortable. Good ambiance.

Willie W.

Yelp
My wife and I had lunch here and found the food to be delicious and plentiful. Bought the chicken burrito and wow it was hugggge. You can definitely eat for two if you decide to buy the burrito. Wife had a combo entree which she thought was also very good. Recommend and we will return. Plenty of parking right in front, staff were very friendly and prices were descent.

Yelp
The server/bar tender (Elizabeth) is the kindest most hard working person. All the staff goes above and beyond the call to ensure a comfortable experience. The servers are great with kids and know how to make incredible drinks. The food at Rincon is so fresh. Walking in, I feel comfortable and at home. Rincon is a staple in my life and a great place to relax and have great conversation with the staff.

King K.

Yelp
Exceptional that is always. Quick drop in for a lunch on a Tuesday afternoon and the food was a 10/10.

Pam H.

Yelp
This place is the bomb! Portions are huge and everything is delicious- it's by far the best guacamole I've had in awhile. The quesadilla was so big I had half to eat for lunch the next day. The steak was tender and easy to eat - no struggles pulling at the meat to cut through it and ending up with the whole slice pulling out of the quesadilla. Everything is fresh and the owners are so sweet. Norwalk is a little bit of a hike for us but I'm going to make it a point to come here more often - there's just no good Mexican closer to me.

Al T.

Yelp
Service is awesome. The tacos and empanadas are delish and the portion sizes are excellent. They recently revamped their menu with a bunch of cool new items. Can't wait to come back!

Kerri D.

Yelp
Been meaning to check this place out after seeing it listed in an article as the best Mexican restaurant in Connecticut. It did not disappoint. Despite being short staffed and very busy, the service was great and the food was excellent. The burrito as bigger than anything I've ever seen and had to weigh at least five pounds. We got multiple meals out of both the burrito and the quesadilla. It was a really nice atmosphere too - crowded but not too loud, nicely decorated, cozy benches with pillows - all in all a great night out.

Yelp
Small restaurant on post road in Norwalk. Passed it many times as looks can be deceiving. Our office ordered take out for lunch. The website shows the restaurant is open at 11 am. I called at 1130 and was told they aren't open yet. Called back at noon placed order for pick up. We had tamales that were very dense with a sweet after taste and the pork meat was sadly dry. The accompanying sauces were very fresh as well as spicy. Second we had fish tacos which were your normal fish taco nothing to write home about. The rice and beans we had as a side dish was a decent portion and tasted good but again nothing fabulous. We lastly ordered margaritas which were the smallest margaritas I have ever seen but that is the only reason the two star rating is being given. The drinks were fresh and potent but severely overpriced as was the food. Won't be back Parking is ample They do take credit card and are open for lunch and dinner

Carl B.

Yelp
I like this place for: the chips & guacamole! The fresh drinks!! The BIG burritos!!! I made three meals out of mine and I like to eat. Parking is easy. Take out is convenient. But it's a nice place to eat in and chill. Nothing fancy but Never a rush to get you out.

Karolina E.

Yelp
We happened to be in this place because we really wanted to eat out and without exaggeration, this is one of the tastiest Mexican restaurants we have ever tried. Quality food, interesting flavor, food that shows the work of the chef. Everything is fresh, good spices, and good portions. The burrito is huge and very tasty, really, we hadn't seen anything like it in Mexico and were very pleasantly surprised to find it in Connecticut. We also tried the chicken and meat tacos, that was very good too. Thank you for your wonderful work. I hope your business continues to thrive. P.s. The inside is very nice, lots of greenery, all Mexican style. I recommend.

Rajeev L.

Yelp
I like this place a lot. It feels authentic and the tacos are amazing. I tend to get the fish tacos, which are huge, crisp, flavorful and just yum. The chips and salsa they give you are also amazing, especially the salsa. It is fresh and flavorful.

Anthonette L.

Yelp
Food was eh ok. Very spicy, hot! I dislike black pepper let alone spicy hot food. My dad on other hand likes it. This is how your food is made even when not requested. My dad tried mine and said wow that's spicy. I couldn't eat it. It was pork tamales. You would think when waiter cleared our plates he would have questioned me about it seeing everything was left, didn't even ask if I wanted it to go. Disappointed

Adam L.

Yelp
My brother is the one that wanted to go here so badly because our friend said this was the best Mexican food in the state. I was like ehhhh firstly that's a bold statement and secondly I didn't feel like going all the way to Norwalk, but I reluctantly went. And I'm glad because this definitely is the best Mexican food I've had!!! Even better the price is right because the portions are massive. The burrito was like the size of my face, and I always finish everything, but I couldn't handle that burrito. It was so good, even the rice I could eat by itself! I could tell everything was homemade even the churros, which everyone seems to get frozen. The churros were like butter! And they give you caramel and chocolate on the side, I could eat those all day. Overall, everyone needs to try this place!

Justin O.

Yelp
Pictures don't do it justice, the burrito is ridiculous. Easily could feed 3 people. It's basically the size of an arm. To put it into perspective, they give you a pizza box to bring it home. There was a good portion of chicken, lots of rice and beans with vegetables mixed in. Cheese and sour cream thoughtfully on the top so you can save it for a 2nd or 3rd meal. Wife enjoyed the pork taco and soup, said it was spicy. Great service, very attentive! Small menu but it's ok as it almost feels like you're getting an authentic home cooked meal. Really enjoyed Rincón Taqueria!

Jeff B.

Yelp
Had lunch there today. Staff was so nice and food was delicious. Looking forward to going back!

Kimberly S.

Yelp
What a great surprise to find this gem! Super cute and clean restaurant with the best Paloma, tamales, and quesadillas. Very kind staff and kid friendly.

Yelp
Not a place i recommend anyone to come to eat. If you want cold food and experience. Be my guest. As soon as we walked in last night we were waiting to be seated and a waitress told us to sit anywhere. While we saw the manager busy chatting we pushed the tables ourselves because we just wanted to help or not be a bother. Second the waitress seemed to have an attitude and not interested to wait us so she brought the other waitress to take our order. The second waitress wasn't even great either because she was just stale and seemed not interested being there. She forgot some of our order and even had to wait almost 20 min. for a jarrito and had to get up to ask about the drink and the waitress told us "what drink?" Our food was cold and they told us that the kitchen is closed yet it was 8:15-8:30pm around that time but closes at 10. From the rudeness we received from the staff including the manager I'm never going there again

Yelp
Good value for the money but not very authentic is how I would sum up Rincon Taqueria. Honestly CT does not have many good Mexican spots. Southern Texas and Souther Cali you can throw a rock and hit 10 great Mexican Restaurants but around here most are sub par so I'm used to this. If you like Mexican food in CT this is about average quality and the portions are Monstrous so the value is there so maybe you will enjoy it more than I did. I travel a lot and have had much better. The waiter was very nice, food came out quick and overall the experience was nice. The food for me just doesn't stand out other than the huge quantity you get but I would prefer prefer higher quality.

Yelp
I am from the West Coast and was excited to try Rincon Taqueria. It's got a relaxing, chill vibe. There is an uber cute small bar in the center with a nice selection of beers and tequila. Service was good and attentive. It was after the typical lunch rush, so one girl was running the front. Between the 3 tables inside, and attending to a few take-out orders, she was busy, but I never felt as if I were waiting. She was on top of things. The food was good. I had a Cheese Empanada, Shrimp Taco and Fish Taco. The Cheese Empanada was good, the dough light and crispy, the cheese was simple, yet flavorful. Yelp
It was very good. The owner's father was working that night and was very nice. The service was very good. Okay, okay. You need to order the burrito when you go there. It is the size of a small car and can feed three people with ease. The one great thing is it is full of flavor. The menu is small but the food is good. The drinks were great and I really like the atmosphere. Very quaint. Highly recommend Bean Burrito

Amanda V.

Yelp
This little hole-in-the-wall has the most delicious food and a super reasonable price. They provided chips & salsa to start and water.. I liked the salsa- tasted fresh & authentic. After we placed our order, we saw a waitress bring a GIGANTIC burrito to the table next to us. The thing was enormous and everyone started laughing because it could easily feed 3 grown men. My friend and I got the rice and beans platter w shredded chicken and it was delicious. We got cheese empanadas that we stuffed the rice into and omg it was so amazing. We were so full but ordered the tres leches to split. It was amazing omg. The whipped cream was very fresh tasting and the strawberries that made the presentation very pretty were delicious and fresh too. I'd recommend this place. Would be good for a first date because it's laid back and the food was good. They have a full bar although I didn't get anything to drink. The margaritas LOOKED good.

Ally F.

Yelp
Huge portions, delicious food, great service. Ambiance leaves a little to be desired but who cares when the food is so good?

David M.

Yelp
I have been back to Rincon several times since the pandemic basically ended, and I cannot overemphasize how thrilled I am. Entering Rincon is like joining and eating with family and friends. No matter what time of day or night, people come in and greet the manager, Bernardo, a member of the family who owns Rincon, with hugs and kisses and thanks for a delicious meal or previous take-out. Nowhere else in Fairfield County do you have this experience. Warmth and welcome are the open arms of Rincon. And the food is, hands down, the freshest and the best anywhere. Last Friday I went to Rincon with guests and we had the most superb clam ceviche that had just been prepared 2 hours before. We added to that frijoles filled with rice, beans, pork, Chilean cilantro pesto, scallions, onions, and so much else with spicy sauces and condiments. The margaritas, as always, were huge and filled to the brim. No skimping ever. I have had everything at this very fine restaurant, including the empanadas, tacos, quesadillas, chilaquiles, and huevos rancheros, I guess the whole menu, and have never been less than absolutely satisfied, and then took some home. The servers are outstanding, polite, and knowledgeable, in addition to being bilingual. They are responsive and fast! And when diners leave, Bernardo returns their hugs and kisses with a "Nice to see you again. Thank you so much for coming. See you soon." Rincon Taqueria is not just a place to eat or order takeout. It is an experience to share with everyone you like and love. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and cozy with all kinds of local art and artifacts from places near and far--a restaurant each diner calls their own as strangers sit next to each other and begin a conversation. And what better way than over fine food and wine, or margaritas. Thank you, Rincon!

Ben W.

Yelp
Haven't been in years and this place did not disappoint. Had the burrito and the tres leches cake, everything was as delicious as I remembered. Huge portions, great value.

H D.

Yelp
The food, the drinks and the service are all great. The menu has many options with all being fresh and full of flavor and well priced. The staff are lovely young people who are attentive and hardworking. At any time you will find the owners in the restaurant. They are always willing to speak and accommodate their patrons. This is how a restaurant should be run!

Kendall G.

Yelp
Giant servings and really good. Friendly staff. No wait, we just walked in on a Saturday night. Good quick dinner

Cat C.

Yelp
The food is incredible and the service is great! I always feel welcomed when stopping for a bite.

Yelp
Our old friends from Bistro du Soleil have daughter Maria running this delightful Taqueria. Charming, fun atmosphere with food so amazing it will make you wonder why the heck you ever went to one of the mex chain restaurants!

Jill J.

Yelp
Nice folks, HUGE BURRITOS! Be hungry or share with 4 of your friends. The tamales were good, masa had a sweetness I'm not used to. 1 margarita hit me hard...strong? I guess.

Sameera B.

Yelp
Their fish tacos are just amazing. I have had fish tacos before but this one just consisted of different flavoring which made the tacos taste delicious. FYI: one of my friends got their burrito and the burrito was huge! Never seen such a big burrito before. Could easily fill up 2-3 people. They give chips and salsa complementary and the cool part is that the chips consists of different colors. The customer service was on point. The manager/owner kept coming and asking us how we were doing and also brought us their specialty hot sauce that is made in the restaurant itself. It was very spicy!!

Ann H.

Yelp
We arrived close to closing time, so we ordered immediately. Burrito was gigantic but loaded with rice and beans. My chicken was dry. Our server disappeared after delivering the food, we had to request water refills, and waited forever for our check. They made us feel unwelcome. Would not return again.

Krystle S.

Yelp
This place is the real deal. We stopped by one night after a long day and it instantly brought me back to Mexico. They don't have a large menu but what they do have is authentic and delicious. We were a party of 6 so we pretty much ordered the majority of the menu and everything was so good. We were with our parents who don't typically stray out of our own ethnic foods and they were impressed they're excited to go home and try local Mexican food nearby now. We're definitely coming back!

Scot P.

Yelp
Just plain awesome! Empanadas are good, Chicken Burrito is as big as a city- and very tasty. Chicken Quesadilla is my favorite, made perfectly. Service is always good and atmosphere is relaxing.

M R.

Yelp
Simple straightforward menu. Place is small , quiet and relaxing for a quick bite event. The service is quick. Quesadillas are wonderful, their empanadas are worth the wait and don't forget their margarita! Prices are reasonable.

Chetan M.

Yelp
Very tasty food, super big quantity. Service is decent. Nice decor. I love burritos here.

Mr. D.

Yelp
Best Mexican place in Fairfield Area, probably all of Connecticut. It's been a regular place we go to! I highly recommend.

Harry B.

Yelp
This used to be a go to place for great burritos, but over the last year the price of the oversized burritos increased by about 20% and worse, the inside is now almost entirely rice. We had ordered two of them last night and the amount of meat in each was pathetic. I understand that restaurants have to raise prices as their costs are increasing. But significantly lowering the quality of what they sell is not acceptable. This was the second time we had this experience. (The first time we thought they just had some issues in the kitchen and forgave them.) After being a loyal customer for more than a decade, we are now looking for a new favorite place for burritos.

David K.

Yelp
Highly recommend the beef tacos. They never disappoint! Solid portions on everything I've tried, and high quality ingredients.

Kathryn C.

Yelp
BEST TACOS!!! The beef and pork tacos are amazing!!! Meat was so tender, flavorful, and juicy. Fish tacos were cooked perfectly, although I would've liked an aioli or something. As of right now, they are solely doing take out; they have tables outside so you can take out and eat outside but technically no sit down dining with wait service. Super cute place, there's a reason why the reviews are consistently so high! Would highly recommend.

Eric F.

Yelp
This place is the most incredible Mexican food that I have ever had in the U.S. The owner, Bernardo sits down and has a glass of wine with the tables, and you feel that love in his cooking. I bring my family, and we are now regulars. Try the burrito, and empanadas. I've never had a burrito like this before. Just unreal!!!

Angela B.

Yelp
We found Rincon Taqueria thanks for fellow Yelpers. Very good recommendation Yelpers! It's a cute little restaurant attached to a banquet hall. There is plenty of parking available. We went on a Friday around 2pm, so we had no problem being seated. I actually thought we might be the only people in the restaurant due to the late lunch hour, but there was a steady stream of people coming in the door. You get chips and salsa when you are seated. The chips are standard. The salsa was great. Good flavor and seasoning. Not watered down. I saw pictures of the chicken burrito and wanted to order that but decided that I could not eat 5 pounds of food and still feel good about myself at the end of the day. That's for next visit. I ordered the chicken tacos and a chicken empanada. So freaking good. The chicken taco filling was heaping out of the taco. It was one of the best chicken tacos I had ever had. I like my food spicy, so I asked for hot sauce. I am not sure if the red hot sauce was housemade or not, but it was delicious. The chicken empanada had the most flaky crust and a delicious green sauce that came on the side. Others at the table ordered the tortilla soup, beef empanadas, fish tacos and cheese empanadas. All got rave reviews. We will be back. Next time I am ordering rice, beans and that burrito!

Igor M.

Yelp
Not Mexican. Not Authentic. There is a ton of Mexican Chachkies decorating the space, but that's about it for what makes this place "mexican". Plus of course food theme where you can get "taco", "burrito", etc. Flavour? No, they did not hear about it. Authentic salsas,- no again. Would you get pebre salsa in authentic Mexican place? No, never. Maybe because it is chilean? Basically theme cafe for people who think everybody from Latin America are "mexicans".

Kathy O.

Yelp
This place is amazing!!! Authentic Mexican food without all the heat (unless you like that). Great wait staff and drinks, but the winners here are the burrito and tacos!!!

Cynthia H.

Yelp
First off. The biggest portion sizes ever!! Margaritas were amazing and the decor is very cute. Price point is good for the size meals. Didn't try any desserts but I'm sure they are also yummy. I like the taco fortune cookies, nice touch.

Richard S.

Yelp
Been there many times and always feel disappointed their selection is very poor it's like they're going out of business tomorrow. I hope they don't. Maybe your luck will be better than mine.

Eleni O.

Yelp
This placed has changed from the time they first opened many years ago. The food then when the owner cooked it himself was great and the service him and his wife provided but now a days it's awful. I have done twice since Covid hit and it's not great. The service was horrible

David M.

Yelp
Just returned with my wife from a most delicious dinner at Rincon. Started with a couple margaritas just to relax and then we were invited to have freshly made, and by fresh, I mean an hour before we ordered it, clam ceviche which was magnificent. Then we followed with some chicken empanadas and filet mignon and shrimp tacos. What a scrumptious treat! Last week we had chilaquiles and frijoles con arroz with braised beef and wine of our choice to accompany it. All our savory dishes were cooked with freshly made ingredients and to perfection. Our servers made sure our food was hot out of the kitchen and that we were completely satisfied. I can't speak highly enough about this very proud family restaurant where the quality of hand picked ingredients are served to order and each customer is treated like family. Where else can you go for dinner and see customers seek out the host, Bernardo, to give him a hug? Where else can you go receive a hug when you leave? And ... Rincon has just added a spectacular lunch and brunch menu that will set up for a very special time with family and friends. Thank you, Rincon!

Sarah Q.

Yelp
Wonderful, family owned restaurant with tasty authentic dishes! Atmosphere is welcoming and cozy. Friendly service staff, attentive to our needs! A must try!!!

Sarah P.

Yelp
This place has huge portions, but not huge flavor. I've eaten a lot of Mexican food all over the country, and comparatively this food lacks kick/seasoning/authenticity. We loved the guacamole, but overall wouldn't go again because of the underdeveloped flavors. The food is really basic. That being said, it has a great atmosphere and very friendly staff! Would recommend if you don't like spicy food, but like big portions.
