The location was good but it was quite loud as it’s in a busy area. Staff were friendly. Rooms were old but that isn’t the issue, the bathroom was covered in black mould. It stunk the whole room out and was unbearable. We asked to move room but as they were fully booked we were told no. The smell was so bad it was hard to spend anytime in the room even sleeping.

Lovely staff, charming old hotel, good budget accomodation with convenient location. Don’t be turned away by the negative reviews, entitled people who are expecting more than what they are paying for. Of course there’s not much parking in the middle of a historical town, use common sense people and research before you arrive.

Some sheets were dirty. The AC only worked on one room. The breakfast I can't know what to tell you tbh. They give you ear plugs... so imagine why. They could invest in a new windows maybe.. We had enough towells. If I will repeat I will not thanks sir. Please do not come again.

I visited Hotel Riomar with my Father who is in a wheelchair. The accessibility to the entrance of the property was OK but could definitely be worked on as it was a struggle sometimes. The accessible room was spacious with a nice hot shower and large beds. Only downside was that it was extremely noisy of a night time which made it very very hard to sleep, music was playing every night until at least 3am. Breakfast was a nice display of bread, ham, cheeses, cereals, fruit and yoghurt. Location was perfect in terms of things to do - right in the middle of Lagos with plenty of restaurants, cafes and bars nearby. Staff were friendly but I have to give a special mention to Renato who went above and beyond to help us in our stay. From the moment we arrived he made us feel welcome, made us laugh and was there to give us a hand with anything we need. He helped me out with my father when it was needed and always made sure we were OK. I think if Renato wasn't working at the hotel then I would probably rate this as a 3 star but he truly made it that much better. Thank you Renato, you are a legend!

This place is pretty basic, you stay here for the great location, breakfast is pretty decent too. We had the room on the top floor that had the view of the ocean which was great but all rooms on top level share the whole balcony, other rooms get their own balcony. The rooms could do with a little fridge and kettle.

Hotel itself is pretty nice. Has all the basics and a nice balcony. However, i am giving this hotel one star because of the rude and disrespectful front desk agent ANDREIA. She gave us a hard time checking in just because she was too lazy to “manually put in my information”. She then tells her colleague “Stupid Americans” in Portuguese assuming I didn’t speak the language. The other gentleman was able to check us in and give us our room within 2 minutes with no issues. Clearly ANDREIA is sad with her life and should be fired. Breakfast was tasty too! Hotel is in a great location and is very close to city center.

We stayed at this hotel in September 2019. The hotel is a true 3* hotel so don't expect anything more. Having said that, the staff were very polite and helpful, the rooms served their purpose and were comfortable. Based on the other reviews, the elevator never worked for them but it was working just fine when we stayed there. The breakfast in the morning is as you would expect...eggs, breads, some fruit, coffee machine, juices. Was an ok breakfast to start your day. They do have a room for the physically challenged which was quite large. We stayed in this room the first night as the room we got when we checked in only had one bed and it was me and my dad. While I love my dad, I wasn't about to share a bed with him :-)||||The best part about this hotel was it's location. It was close to everything and it was amazing to just sit on the balcony and watch the world pass below us. It got very busy and noisy at night time as that's when all the people come out for dinner and drinks. The air conditioning worked fine as well. As for a room with a balcony on the street side so that you can sit on the balcony and have a beer and watch people. Parking was an issue as they only have a few spots in front of the hotel. If you don't get a spot there, you will have to drive around the narrow streets to find another spot. There are some parking lots about a 5-10 minute walk away.||||If I was to visit Lagos again (which I really want to), I would stay here again.

There is nothing wrong with the hotel itself, the problem is with the location. If you want to sleep at night bring a good set of ear plugs unless you want to hear the music and noise from local bars until 4:00am in the morning.
